After a particularly bad experience with the lowest bidder on our exterior painting job (shut down by the city for violating lead laws), Smart Coats came to the rescue. Ed worked everything out with the city to take over for the previous contractor and ensure that all regulations were followed. They did an amazing job removing many layers of old paint and re-painting our 1890 Victorian. I couldn’t recommend them more.

We had our entire interior repainted by Smart Coats last spring 2013. It still looks great. I have to say this was one of the best experiences I have had with a home contractor. Ed came out to give us a bid. I was pretty impressed that the owner of the company is the one who bids on the work! He was very knowledgeable and walked us through the entire process. We received other bids, but chose Ed’s company based on his professionalism. Overall we were very happy with the work. There was a little touch up work required this year, but they came out last week and fixed everything at no additional cost, just as they said they would if necessary. Other than that, no complaints, and I was truly impressed that they really do stand behind their work.
