I’m a long time customer. Even after moving to Cambridge, and trying local salons I happily returned. Reasons being — this well established, well maintained, reasonably priced business provides reliable, professional services with caring personnel who are dedicated to their vast array of all generations of clients and their own excellence by continually educated themselves to keep current with«cutting edge» products and techniques! As for walk-in service, I’ve been there when they’ve kindly taken both familiar and new customers. I’m often complimented on both the color and cut of my hair. This salon may be small the results it provides are tremendous!

I got my hair cut here twice in the past year. The first time was with the owner, Carla, and the second was with another stylist whose name I forget. Not sure why I went back after the first time, because for a $ 60 haircut, the results are extremely subpar. The shop is cute and clean, but both times, the cut was on par with something you would get at a Super Cuts. I asked for a standard trim with layers that blended in with my hair, but the result(both times) was blunt, choppy, and unflattering. I’d rather spend my $ 60 downtown at James Joseph, where I’ve always gotten great cuts… But Cobella was so close to home, thus the draw. Oh well.

This place is awesome. I don’t know what issue the people who aren’t rating this 4 or 5 starts have, but it’s about them, not this place! Carla is awesome and she gives great cuts and does great color. I don’t trust anyone else — I have very temperamental curly hair! She knows just what to do. Mui(sp?) also does awesome nails — they last way longer than any other place I go.

Have to admit I never got my hair cut here. Know why? Like the other reviews said, the staff have a horrible attitude and no customer service skills. I’ve walked by a dozen times and thought if finally go in for a cut because the sign outside made it seem super convenient: «open 7 days a week; we [heart] walk-ins» I walk in, excited because I’ve been putting this off for a while. I expect to see a bustling place(Newtonville’s pretty happening on Sundays) but there’s only one person working, she’s got one customer in her chair and one waiting. She does greet me, but it’s not warm and it’s somewhat confrontational, like I’m not really a welcome sight. I say I’d like a haircut and get the immediate response that, «we’re all booked today, how about tomorrow?» It’s Sunday. If I could get my haircut on a weekday I would but I came in in a Sunday because it’s my only day off. I say I can’t because I have to work, so she asks if I want to come in next Saturday. So it goes from, «we [heart] walk-ins» to having to make an appointment for a week later? She doesn’t try very hard to keep my business. I say, «no, I was hoping to be a walk-in» and she doesn’t even look at me, just shrugs and says, «sorry». Tempted to cross out the [heart] and write in, «disdain» but didn’t have a marker on me.

my son was brought in to Co-Bella for a trim… He walked in with 5 ½ inches of hair and ELOISE went Edward-Scissor hands on him… she not only cut ALL of his hair off, it was thee worse hair cut I have ever seen in my life. It looked as if a student from Blaine on her first day had cut his hair. When I returned to have ELOISE fix his hair she stated that if I wet his hair it would have the style she intended to give him. I explained to her that its WINTER and he will not be walking around with his hair wet to fix the hair cut. She could not fix it, she became upset thru the money at me and told my sons and I to take our money back because … quote«I dont need this shit» … I have never been on Unilocal or left a bad review for anyone specially because I work in customer service, but this was thee WORSEEXPERIENCE, SERVICE, HAIRCUT, PERSON, PLACE, ATTITUDE, makes me wonder are they PREJUDICE also … oh yeah Im black… and its Newton… one can only imagine… Please think TWICE before bringing your child in for a trim … he will walk out BALD!!! DONOTBOOKWITHELOISE … SHEDOESNOTKNOWWHATSHEISDOING… your better off cutting it yourself at least that way you have no one to blame… EVELYN

Friendly, warm staff makes a going here comfortable and un-stressful. Plus they do a great job with cuts, color and nails. Also they have the knack of scheduling the right amount of time for appointments so you are never left waiting for them to finish someone else hair!

This place has too much attitude and borders on downright rude if you’re lucky enough to walk in here when someone has their panties in a bunch. I used to go here but only when Albena was working. Now that Albena has her own salon, I’ve never been back.

Cobella is such a great salon. The owner Carla is the nicest person I have ever met. I had my hair colored and highlighted and it is the best job that has been done on my hair in years. I also brought my boyfriend to have his hair cut and his facial hair trimmed and Carla spent at least an hour on it, he said it is the longest anyone has ever spent grooming him! He looked so good after we walked out and we are going back for seconds. Such great quality for the price. I highly recommend this salon and will keep going back!!!

I had a very good pedicure here today. It’s a small space just One attendant who was very nice and did a good Job. Plus less expensive than other places nearby. I will Definitely go back.
