First off, great location! What better place to put an amazing Italian restaurant! Located in quaint Newtown, PA, this restaurant is sure to please. I would definitely recommend with starting with any of their specials. If you are going near this posting date they have a great New England Clam Chowder that they added to the menu. I also tried Francisco’s Lasagna. This was delicious but I do have to say the portion was rather large. I ordered the lobster ravioli to go, also very delicious but again, portions are very large so bring your appetite if you’re going to start with the soup! :) The service was excellent and the waitress(and waiter from what I saw) were very helpful with suggesting different dishes off the menu that they personally recommended. I would highly recommend this place for either a date, family event(if planned ahead, the tables are generally for double seating), or even just going there alone to enjoy a delicious meal. Around the corner across the street from First National Bank of Newtown, there is a municipal parking lot where you can park for up to 3 hours free. The restaurant is in a very convenient location to other shops and dining spots. Lastly, this is a BYOB restaurant, so make sure if you are going to drink you need to bring your own.

I have not been here, but I have been to their sister restaurant Francisco’s by the River and the food is quite good. I am making this review on behalf of my daughter and her boyfriend. They made a reservation to go to dinner on Valentines Day. She had bought a Groupon and specifically asked if they could use the Groupon, and she was told they could use it. Even when she printed it out, it said that not valid on National Holidays, and Valentines day isn’t a National Holiday. When they got to the restaurant, she was upfront with the server, and they were told they could not use the Groupon. My daughter was intimidated and didn’t press back. Then, they were issued a special menu for Valentine’s Day and everything was priced pretty high, much higher than their original menu, and only two pasta options were listed. These are high school kids who saved their money up to go on a special dinner. She sent me a text about their difficulties. They were a half hour away, and I was concerned they wouldn’t have enough money. I told her to ask for the manager, but she didn’t feel comfortable. I finally called and asked for the manager. In all fairness, he came to the phone right away and said he would care for it immediately. I really appreciate his professionalism. My daughter did say the waitress was really rude to them afterwards. I think restaurants should be clear that they are offering a special menu for days like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. I also think the Groupon rules need to be clearer. If you don’t want to offer Groupon, don’t do it.

Our favorite Italian restaurant in town! Always fresh food, prompt service, and reasonably priced for Newtown. The portions are big so you can share an entrée if you want. The place is very small, so make a reservation. But it is cozy and romantic. I like to get the scallops over squid ink pasta — my favorite! Tender and delicious. Their lasagna is huge and their seafood pasta entrée is packed. They serve plain or garlic bread to start with(free, like a true Italian place). BYOB. My husband says the chicken francaise is really good too. Go here with a bottle of wine, then go across the street to Black Horse Tavern for drinks to top off your romantic night!

Great date place! Make sure to make reservations. We had the scallops appetizer and I custom ordered steak over Gorgonzola pasta. Delicious!

I love it here! So cozy and quaint, perfect for a date night. I’ve been twice and had their lobster ravioli and their seafood pasta special, I think it was called Bob’s special. And both were so delicious. Definitely going back when I can!

Look out for the blacked mahi, it’s actually breaded and per paired ahead of time then somehow warmed up. What a horrible experience. It was like restaurant hell. I was expecting Gordon Ramsey to rush through yelling at the chef that he can’t treat food like that.

Really enjoyed the food and because it is BYOB we saved quite a bit on the bill compared to when we dine at other local Newtown Italian restaurants. Will come back again.

So on Friday night I dropped the kids off at the haunted hayride down the street and needed to waste some time. I walked around newtown and the menu looked great. It was packed, I stood in line and they sat me quickly. Even though I was by myself they treated me like Gold! I had a Gorgonzola pasta it was amazing. The salad was to expensive for what it was, and it’s not included had to pay 7 bucks for a salad with just lettuce and tomatoes. But the pasta was so delicious I’m giving five stars anyway. The service was supreme and its a BYOB

I love going here for lunch. All three of the owners restaurants are fantastic. Byob, so don’t forget the wine if you go for dinner. Pretty small here so I prefer lunch as opposed to dinner… his other Italian restaraunt Francisco’s in Washington crossing is amazing, it’s larger – byob and best Italian food around!

We came to this restaurant in Newtown based on the recommendation of some friends. They guided us correctly! So far, in Newtown, I have only been to Oishi — which is very popular and tasty. I am glad now to have found a second restaurant in the area to go to. First the place is BYO, which is nice and keeps costs down if you are on a budget. That is nice because the meals are not exactly cheap(moderate to slightly pricey?). We started our meal with whole wheat garlic bread. It was a small roll, warm and super garlicky. It was pretty good — I dont know if I would order this on a date though! Luckily we dont worry about those things and ordered a second roll to sop up the tomato sauce left from our sauteed calamari. The calamari was just okay — it could have been a little more flavorful and tender. For our mains, we ordered based on the recommendation of our waiter. We had a special the«Bob’s Plate.»($ 30). The Bob’s plate was pasta with a pink vodka sauce, shrimp, salmon, and scallops. This was excellent! The shrimp were HUGE and perfectly cooked. The salmon and scallops were tender — just right. I ate the whole plate — glutton that I am. The serving was large enough to satisfy a hungry diner but not so large that you asked for a doggy bag. The restaurant itself was pretty small and kind of dated, but charming. The staff was friendly and attentive but not overwhelmingly so. You could tell they took pride in the food being served. I guess Florentino’s is the IT spot in Newtown! Would love to return to try more items from the menu.

We’ve been going here for a while and it’s fantastic. I’d definitely recommend grabbing one of their Groupons if you can, because it isn’t cheap. It’s BYO, so definitely bring a good bottle of wine. The whole wheat garlic bread is awesome and actually has minced garlic on it. It melts in your mouth and is delicious. I usually get the eggplant parm — very thin layers of eggplant with light red sauce and a little parm on top. I recently learned that you can order half plates, so the last time I was there I ordered half egg plant parm and half of the pasta alla boscaiola. The pasta was ok, but nothing special and not all that flavorful. I did like the herby-ness though. Also the last time, my husband got this dish that I believe was a special. It was filet mignon with criminis over pasta and it was outstanding. Other advice: You typically need to make reservations, even on weeknights. Not good for large groups — it’s very small and tables are tight.
