First of all, they did not have the first couple of gel nail polish that I wanted so, I just randomly picked one and it did not turn out the right color but I guess I am happy with the color but I got my nails done Saturday, May 21st, 2016 and either 5⁄20 or 5⁄19 the gel nail polish started to chip or I just tried to open a pill package where you have to just peel the paper back and my one side of my left thumb is starting to come off and I was not rough at all. I have had better, I do not know about regular nail polish here and it was my first time there.

Walked in. No one came out to greet us. The workers looked at us and continued to do what they were doing, didn’t even bother with customer service. Pathetic. I don’t know how they expect to run a business when they can’t even get someone to greet incoming customers. Left after standing around awkwardly for five minutes.

If I could give«0» stars, I would have. I’ve been there several times, each time was average. I was initially attracted to the large selection and the plastic inserts for the pedicures. The staff is unfriendly and don’t remember your name. They also seem to have a revolving door for nail technicians. The worst is the owner(very short haircut and is usually at the desk). I once had her do my nails many years ago to have her talk on the phone the entire time which seemed like an argument with someone. Shame on me for even returning after that, however, after several years I thought I’d give them another shot. The last gel manicure I had the woman was so rough that my cuticles were bleeding to the point that she needed to apply some kind of antiseptic. I thought of all of the germs I could be exposing myself to with an open cut. The worst part about it is, the owner just looked at my nails when I complained, didn’t apologize and made me pay. I won’t be returning.

Not the best place to get a mani pedi. I’ve definitely had a better experience before. Some of the women are nice but some of them you can tell are talking nasty right in front of your face. Receptionist is nice and the place looks clean for the most part. Their nail polish needs to be updated. Most colors are running out and they won’t equally coat the nails properly because of it. They say they use new utensils all the time but I have seen them used unpackaged once before. I rather see them open a new package of cutters in front of me rather than say it’s just«new». It’s also horribly expensive, killing my wallet at $ 50 for a mani pedi together. I’ve had them done together both for $ 30. I’m not sure if it’s because of the area it is in or inflation but they need to do something about that price. They say they close at 7:30 pm, but they shut everything down at 7pm. I go after work, and sometimes I run a little late, coming in at 7:15pm. They still have 15 minutes to service customers. They always rush their work whenever I come in around 7pm. Unfortunately, Newtown doesn’t have too many nail salons that are of average price. If I am in town, it’s the only place I go and you would think, being a frequent customer, they would treat you better.

I stopped in for an impromptu pedicure. It was mid afternoon on a day off, so the place was pretty dead. The receptionist was very friendly, and the girl doing my nails was nice as well. The place is huge and had a very clean feel to it. They use plastic disposable inserts in the pedicure tubs, which is great for sanitation, but probably wasteful on a environmental standpoint. The pedicure cost 30 dollars, which I think is petty pricey for just a pedicure. If I am paying 30 dollars for my toenails, then i think it has to be an amazing pedicure. I judge pedicures by how much attention is paid on the cuticles… the only reason I occasionally go in to get them in the first place. And I left with a hefty amount of cuticle. All in all, just an average pedicure with an above average price. It was a nice enough experience, but I wouldn’t return for a nail service.

Had a Brazilian wax service for the first time at this establishment. Was given a lady that hardly spoke or understand English however claimed to know that she knew what service I was asking for. When it was clear that she did not know what she was doing and unable to respond appropriately to my questions about what she is doing, I asked for someone to come in the room. This new person spoke more English and I told her that she does not know what she is doing & can not understand my questions while she is waxing and telling her the wax is too hot. I also told her that she did not offer me any thing to cover myself with while she got someone else to come in the room. After this new person came in and spoke to the waxer, she told me that she understands now. The waxer proceeded to use hot wax, left hair in areas where it should be waxed and did not even bother to check hair in the anal area. Had the English translator come in again and told her how appalled I was with what she did and was unacceptable that this is how they do business(again not offering a cover while I was half naked). I got dressed and said I was not paying for this. I got dressed came out and spoke to a Kevin, who did not obtain any information about what happened from me and said we will charge you for a bikini wax, a service I did not ask for! I said I wasn’t paying for that and explained my experience and did not get the service I wanted. I have him my credit card and he still charged me for it! I also had nail service done lumped into the charge so I told him after fighting for this that I will report this establishment for having no concern about having too hot wax, possibly burning, unprofessional service, uncourteous behavior, inadequate training of their staff, not addressing language barriers or employee skills, and charging me for a service I did not request for against my wishes.

Great atmosphere. Girl at the front desk(Helen) is super nice but the manicurists are so-so. Pedicures are good and they throw out the files after you are done so sanitization isn’t an issue here.
