This hotel is located pretty close to the Niagara Falls State Park, and the view from the back is rather nice. It was nothing fancy, but a comfortable, affordable place for my family and I to crash and relax while touring the Falls. The coffee and cereal from breakfast wasn’t bad, and with advance notice, they obtained a specific brand of almond milk for me, which was pretty nice of them. We’d stay here again, for sure. We go to the Falls not for an elegant experience, but a more utilitarian one. The chambermaid did a pretty lousy job cleaning, though, but at least I was able to take a bath without the glaze from the tub coming off onto my body.

This place seems to have gone down hill. The room was average, the wi-fi was spotty, the tv lost all signal in a short downpour and some channels were unwatchable. Would not stay here sgain or recommend.

Stayed at the hotel for 3nights in Jan 2014. The hotel was not very memorable and we got what we paid for I guess. Thankfully we didnt spend much time in the room because it didnt feel very cosy. The staff was nice… just nice. My biggest complaint is that we paid for a non smoking room and the first thing I saw when I walked into the room was a cigarette butt floating in the toilet! I took a picture of it and went right down to the front desk to show them and they apologized once n made sum excuse of maintenance maybe put that there when fixing up the bathroom. and that was it! So I just walked back to my room feeling cheated in getting a «non smoking room»?! It wasnt the worst hotel experience but I would definitely not stay there again.

Stayed here on 8÷27÷14. Sent a letter of complaint to Wyndham… they said it was forwarded to HoJo mgmt. We’ll see. Here is a copy. sums up what I think about this place. Driving up to the place, the façade made me feel as welcome as the state prison. No wait, at least the prison has some flowers. Blank brick with windows and a paved parking area front and back are what greet the guest. I would’ve turned around then, but I already paid the room. Might as well stay. Walking into the lobby reminded me of the 1970’s but the chipped laminate and dirty windows as well as the dirty floor forced me to think«flop house». The lady at the desk was very nice. The pink and purple cellophaned hair was a trip back in time, but her nice personality somewhat made up for it. So let’s get to the room. One out of two key cards worked(probably why we got 2). Opening the door was a surprise. The room, with 2 double beds, was wired with motion sensors. If you were moving, the lights would stay on. Stop for awhile and you were in the dark. I understand conservation, but how about a night light? I don’t always remember where things are and would appreciate looking around to see them instead of feeling around for a light switch. The only outlet not on motion was the TV, so you can guess what we used for a night light. A call to the front desk questioning how the lighting controls work resulted in the terse response, «I’m not an electrician». TV — I wondered where all the old style TV’s went when flat screens came in. Flat screens are affordable now and I’m sure would be appreciated by the clients. Probably want to clean the carpets too. I don’t think they’ve been cleaned since the furniture was new. The furnishings were so old, I bet Moses slept in one of those beds… God, they were uncomfortable!.. The bath was not any better. The floor had been wet mopped, but needed a good power scrub. Or at least tell housekeeping to rinse the mop and make a second pass. I could see the swirl marks on the tile. The grout lines were uneven at best and repairs to the drain system was obviously made and the floor’s restoration was poorly done. If you advertise free wi-fi, please make sure that it is available. During our stay, I tried 6 times to get a signal strong enough to log in to my email, and 6 times the system failed to hook up. I brought this to the attention of the front desk and was told that their provider stunk and there’s nothing they can do about it. Can you do something about it? Please? It is extra frustration your guests don’t need, especially when they put up with the problems mentioned above. I know breakfast is free, but the selections are so inadequate that it’s hard to believe you even say you have breakfast. I normally put in a «Needs Updating» comment when I review, but in this case, that would be severely insufficient. HoJo in Niagara, NY needs to be TOTALLYRENOVATED. I feel sure that if you were to bring this dump even into the 20th century, you will get a lot more business than you think.

We got to niagara super late and after trying 3 different hotels we stumbled across HoJo and they had a vacancy, but believe me this wasn’t our first choice. The guy at least was nice and kindly reminded us there was breakfast in the morning. When we got to the room it was pretty 1960s, but besides that there was only 1 towel for a room with 2 beds, not even a face or hand towel and no soap. When my husband went downstairs it took someone 15 mins to bring some up. In the morning my husband went to scope out the breakfast and there was just coffee. All of this I guess is expected from the HoJo but they have the audacity to charge $ 159 a room! So not worth it, so morale of the review is to book early!
