Full disclosure: The son of the family that owns this place is a friend of mine, but this review would be a genuine 5-stars with or without that connection. The highlight: Pierogi’s, steaks and the amazing garlic bread. The pierogi’s. Oh my god, the pierogi’s. I live about thirty minutes away, but anytime I want a Pierogi that that will blow my taste buds away, I’ll either need to talk to Unilocal Elite Jane B or drive to Kobans. This place is legit. I tried the farmer’s cheese, pulled pork, potato and sauerkraut Pierogi’s and I was floored. Each one is huge with a light browning on the side. The focus is on the fillings, not the dough — and it shows. My favorite was the pulled pork and I loved how they got creative with the sour cream side and added some BBQ + a little hot sauce to it. Absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I had a strip steak with a baked potato. The 14oz cut of meat was served medium rare to order. The focus is on the fantastic grill of the meat — fantastic seasoning, spices and quality cut. The meal was also served with a side salad which blew away my expectations. I usually expect a very lame salad when it comes with an entrée, but this was beautifully presented with shaved carrots, bits of grape tomatoes and was quite tasty despite it being winter. The other memorable highlight of the meal is the garlic bread. It is incredible. They serve a French baguette, cover it in butter and garlic and then toast it for the most amazing, addicting and fattening bread you’ll ever get served with your meal. In my many dining out adventures, I’ve never had a side of bread that was this delicious. I had to keep myself from eating over two pieces so I didn’t gain about 30 lbs after this meal… The menu has a lot of comfort delights I’ve yet to try, various pastas, lasagnas, chicken wings, etc. All these are priced between $ 10 – 15. The steaks are in the $ 20 range, but reputed to be some of the best in NF(and I agree). I can’t wait to come back here… any excuse to come to NF to eat here again, I will take… so if my review made you hungry and itching to check this place out, let me know! I want to go back again so bad.

First time we went had shrimp cocktail that’s was really good. A bowl of stuff pepper soup that was amazing. The crazy chicken salad that was so much bigger than excepted. My husband had the pork chops and French onion soup which he loved. This place is so good. Second time I had the battered fish fry it was bigger than the plate. The homemade tarter was delicious.

My wife and I went on Friday night around 6pm with no reservations. We waited about 10 minutes for a table. So far so good. The staff were friendly and the food was great! The service on the other hand just a little lacking that personal touch. It wasn’t very busy and our waitress pretty much flew by and didn’t stop for long. any how great review.

A great family owned restaurant. There is nothing special about the outside or inside if this place. If your going for décor. Go somewhere else. If you want good food in a place where everyone will greet you and know your name. Go here. Had the perogies and they were great. Fresh and homemade. I hear the prime rib is excellent too. Nice place and will return again to try something else on the menu.

Niagara Falls has so many hidden secrets of succulence. Well maybe succulent is just a little too much word to describe the wonderful simple goodness of Kobans. Great for the traditional Polish plates or really solid American dishes(open steak sandwich please). A really great family owns and operates this place, and they bring you back to when the Falls were on top.
