Take out /Cash only. Its good OLD style pizza .very good sauce and crust. a little light on the pepperoni and we ordered double pepperoni … but I’d go back… good stuff. get there by 6⁄24 because they are closing for the summer and will be back in October …

We tried the Pizza Oven based on all the great Unilocal reviews. The reviews were 100% right! It’s seriously the most delicious pizza I’ve ever had. It’s easy to miss if you’ve never been there before, so keep your eyes open. When we pulled into the parking area, we could smell nothing but basil and fresh baked dough. Such a welcoming smell when you’re hungry. Our pizza was ready when we arrived, which was almost 10 minutes earlier than they told us. Everyone was friendly, and it was a great experience from start to finish. We had about a 15 minute drive home, and the pizza was still hot when we got home. They close for the season in June, so we will have to go again before that happens.

By far my favorite pizza. Drop in and pick up a ½ tray. Fantastic value. Take out only. Make sure you check for open times. Closes for ½ of the year, which is disappointing, and only open a few days a week. A must try.

This is the best pizza in WNY! The crust is of the perfect thickness and has a buttery sweetness to it. The sauce is seasoned perfectly and tastes like it was made from fresh tomatoes. I have sauce and cheese on my pant leg and I’m going to wear it like a badge of honor!

My favorite pizza in Western NY. I grew up with it. It may look like a «hole in the wall» but the taste is well worth the visit to that neighborhood. I remember going there as a kid, and seeing«Farmer» work his magic. I just wish they were open more often.

I grew up on pizza oven. Now that I’ve moved away I try and get it any time I visit home, but it’s only open certain times of the year. This is the only pizza place that I know of in the falls that puts the pepperoni under the cheese and definitely the only one I’d forgive for it. It’s delicious. I’ve always loved the slippery cheese under the molten hot sauce. It can be messy but it so so good.

I had heard about this pizza from quite a few people. But I typically don’t travel that far for a slice. However this year«Janes Walk» in Niagara Falls started here. Great idea for a meeting place. This building is small and there is no seating. It’s a cash and carry place. It’s $ 1.25 a slice. Cheese or cheese and pepperoni. You can call ahead for a pie. Or come in and pick up what you what. While I was there there was lots of foot traffic but no real lines. I have heard there are lines at other times of the day. Since he’s only open 3 days a week you have to get it while you can. If you are in the area this place is totally worth a visit. Just make sure to have cash(no credit), and check the hours. He’s closed in the summer for a while too. Call before you go.

Stories sell. In this case, they sold me a few slices of pizza. If you haven’t heard of Pizza Oven, it’s a legendary WNY pizza spot. It has an air of enigma and mystery around it because it’s only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday between October and June. Why do they close for the busiest tourist season of Niagara Falls? Why are the only open on the weekends with such strange hours? Is the pizza really that good? So many questions piqué such an interest, so naturally when I was in the area showing an out-of-towner the legendary Niagara Falls on a –10 degree day… we had to swing by and grab a slice of pizza on the way home. We found the unassuming hole-in-the-wall on Niagara Street, pretty close to the Falls(and on the way if you’re for instance going from the park to the mall as we were). There are no seats here and Darren is on point to say that everything looks like it’s from the 60s. Just take a look at the cash register. Pizza is baked and brought behind the counter. Slices are $ 1.25 and are a small square size. You’ll need at least 2 – 4 if you’re hungry, but one slice is a nice snack. Each of us got one slice which we swiftly devoured in the car. Biting into the slice after a walk at the Falls was heavenly. The tomato sauce of the pizza is beyond belief. Sweet and pungent of fresh tomatoes as if I’m translated back to autumn when tomatoes are ripe and delicious again. The pepperoni is baked inside the cheese, which I was a huge fan of, but it makes it a little harder to tell which slices are cheese and which are pepperoni(my wife being a pascetarian). Pizza Oven gets a 5 for the story and strange hours alone. I’ve only had a slice, but I can attest that the tomato sauce is among the best red sauces I’ve ever had. Will it be the best pizza you’ve ever had? I doubt it. Expectations are just too high, but if you go in with an open mind and a love for the story and adventure, you’ll enjoy it.

Very good non-traditional pizza in a place that’s very traditional. How about that for some irony? Ok, so here’s the deal. The hours are a pain and the location isn’t ideal, but the pizza here is very good. Pizza Oven’s location is not the best. That’s been covered so forget about it. The area is fine enough. It just needs some love. Parking is mostly street. I think there might have been a lot but it was hard to tell. Inside is like a time machine. Everything looks straight out of the 1960s, staff included. Counter is ancient, wood paneling, an old soda machine that didn’t appear to be plugged in, and an old style cash register. The menu board lists a 2nd location that no longer exists. Pizza Oven opened in the 60s and they haven’t touched a single thing. The employees(who also likely worked here in the 60’s) are very friendly. Onto the pizza… Very good. Almost like Pizza Oven in Lockport, but different. Nice crust, thin and fresh. The sauce is traditional, not sweet. Pizza is seasoned well and slices are cut into squares. The pepperoni is cooked under the cheese. I’m not quite sure if I like that. I like crispy pepperoni and baking under cheese makes this impossible. You can order a tray, half tray or slice. There is some confusion if they offer pies. I didn’t try to order one to find out. Some Unilocal friends insist they don’t sell pies but the menu seems to indicate they do. But remember, the menu still lists that second location closed long ago. Some oddities to be aware of: I believe the hours are Friday through Sunday, from lunch time through 11ish. They close down for most of the summer. Call before stopping by to be sure they’re open. Also note that they only accept cash. Pizza Oven is a Niagara Falls institution. They offer delicious pizza. Is it the best around? I’m afraid not, but this stuff is very good. Definitely worth a try!
Delicious pizza that is unique on its own. It’s always delicious and piping hot. Thin crust which is slightly sweet and if you choose pepperoni, it’s under the sauce. Where can you get a great slice of pizza for a $ 1.00? At pizza oven.

My husband and I were heading back to Canada and we decided to pop by the pizza oven because of all the amazing reviews. We each got a slice, $ 1.25/slice. I just don’t get it. Maybe it’s because we got the ready made slices but it was just okay. At $ 1.25 it is super cheap but the slice is also quite small. Flavor wise it was okay but not worth driving out of the way.

I grew up in Niagara Falls and this was always my favorite pizza. Unfortunately, it closes in the summer and since I only visit home in the summer, I havent had their pizza in quite a few years. I was visiting for Christmas this year and had their pizza every day that they were open(limited hours in winter). This pizza is really delicious. I just wonder why they dont stay open in summer? I understand that maybe the owner wants to take a vacation but cant they hire someone to run the operation all year and make their pizza available to their loyal customers? seems selfish and inconsiderate to me.

This is the best pizza I’ve ever eaten! Very light with gobs of cheese and a sweet dough which makes the crust taste unbelievable. The only negative thing I’ll say is that they don’t serve chicken wings. Also the neighborhood where Pizza Oven is not good. It appears to be a very depressed and run down neighborhood with lots of broken down houses and unkept lawns. There’s a corner store across the street with bars and chicken wire over the windows — not to customer friendly. I was not too comfortable parking on the street and kept popping my head out of the door to make sure my car was safe. But overall the pizza was so delicious it was worth it.

I consider this to be the best pizza in Western New York. It may be only open from Friday thru Sunday so you better get your order in as soon as possible since business is always booming. Be aware that they close every year for the summer and this year there last day of business is 30 June. So do not wait to to try the pizza or you will be waiting until they reopen. When I was in the military this was always a go to place whenever I returned to Niagara Falls and always froze a tray or two to take back with me.

Ladies and gentlemen, the reviews are true! This is a five-star joint! I really can’t add anything that the other reviewers haven’t already mentioned other than pointing out that they don’t deliver and there is no seating. Take out only. And the staff there are fabulous. I’m thrilled that it’s right in my neighborhood too!

I’ve eaten pizza in New York City, Chicago, and even Italy – and Pizza Oven is my favorite pizza of all time! Seriously. The trays are cut in squares, and the slices are thin, gooey with cheese, and perfectly seasoned. The soft crust has a light dusting of flour, and the red sauce is deliciously sweet and unlike anything I’ve tasted anywhere else. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Two words of warning: Pizza Oven operates on a unique schedule. It seems to be open October through June on weekends only. And if you don’t order early enough, they run out of pizza!

My home town, the beautiful(or formerly beautiful) Niagara Falls, New York is home to some epic pizzerias. In a previous review, I have lauded the praises of the Godfather of WNY Pizzerias: La Hacienda on Pine Avenue, and let us not forget the sadly deceased Trusello’s Pizzeria(often imitated, yet never equalled) still spoken amongst natives in hushed, reverent tones. However, at long last I have recently discovered the third epic Niagara Falls Pizzeria completing the triumvirate… Pizza Oven on Niagara and 19th. This is the pizza my parents grew up on, yet because it is in such a crappy neighbourhood they decided not to share this delicacy with the next generation… DAMN U MAMA! About a year ago my Uncle Louie(a pizza connoisseur if ever there was one) told me I have got to try this place when I was in the neighbourhood(it is not as crappy as it once was… of course its still not great), I tried to go to the Pizza Oven like 5 times, but every time I went it was closed. It turns out that they are only open Fridays through Sundays. If a restaurant in a crap neighbourhood can stay open for over 50 years operating only 3 days per week, that pizza has got to be good… and let me tell you it was. This is Niagara Falls pizza at its very best. The dough is perfect, nice crispy crust with a light dusting of excess flour, perfectly melted and stringy cheese covering smoky pepperoni and a sauce so subtle and light it could float(not a hint of tomato paste). This pizza has a je né sais quoi quality which elevates it to mythical proportions.(See attached pic) They have square slices at the ready when you walk in, or you can order a whole pie. Their toppings are not extensive, but this is not a pizza that is defined by its toppings, rather by the gestalt of the final product. This is a pizza which has not been changed for over 50 years(and neither has the store for that matter), but that is exactly what makes it so damn good. If you love high quality(yet super cheap…$ 1 per slice) pizza get over to the Pizza Oven and indulge. Tell em Uncle Louie sent ya!
