Sandi’s is a friendly spot to grab a bite, just a short distance from the Niagara Falls airport. The food isn’t anything to write home about but it is a nice little mom-n-pop establishment.

This is an excellent little restaurant for breakfast. I say breakfast because I’ve only been here for breakfast over the years. I live in California but this is my go-to place for breakfast when I’m in the Falls, visiting my hometown. The omelettes are great. In particular, I love the Greek omelette. Lots of feta. Not too oily. I don’t know what they are doing but the whole wheat toast this last visit was the best toast I ever had, weird as it is to say. Coffee is decent. Blueberry pancakes were out of this world — delicious pancake batter and loaded with blueberries. They give you two pancakes but they are huge. And they were so good that my two year old ate a whole pancake herself! The waitress told me that they sometimes have chocolate chip pancakes but they aren’t on the menu. Also, the service was excellent. The restaurant and restroom is clean. What a little gem. I only gave 4 stars because I don’t want expectations too high and they aren’t fancy at all. But for a little family diner, it’s really yummy.

This homey little neighborhood diner gets 5 stars for service and atmosphere and 3 stars for the food. It’s clearly run by nice people who like their jobs and care about their customers. But breakfast… Well, the omelette was perfectly cooked, not burned… but looked better than it tasted — dry and rather flavorless. My(much) better half’s scrambled eggs were more or less the same. The home fries almost made up for it, but not quite. The oatmeal was a bit better. All in all, as out-of-town visitors trying to find non-chain meals in Niagara Falls, we were happy. But next time we’re bringing Tabasco.
