Staying in a hotel nearby and wanted to get some pizza and the sign said $ 1.00 slices… really? When I went in the 1st thing the guy says is «don’t walk on the floor-stay on the mats-we just mopped». Of course it’s HOW he says it that I’m ready to pounce back but it was late and my son wanted pizza and I didn’t want to waste a whole pie on him. I’m so glad I «chilled” — the pizza guy«got better»(he must have seen my face LOL!). We got 3 slices and I wish I had bought a pie. Delicious-actually all of the pizza I ate in NY State was really good– much better on average than Philly.

Great place. We called at about 10:20 they had our pizza delivered by 10:30 and it was awesome. Great guy, great pizza. Would definitely order again.

When I asked where to go for NY style pizza I was recommended Ventry’s. It’s in a «beat up» section of town abut sports a bright red awning. I smiled at the old fashioned screen door and basically hollow insides-oven, table, arcade machine, couple tables. I asked for the 3 slices and a soda $ 3.50 deal and was told there were only two pieces left and it would«be a while». They didn’t seem interested in a sale. I suggested I buy the two pieces and wait for the third while I ate. He didn’t seem to «get it» at first but then said okay. This would be a barely two-star rating on service/hospitality. The two square pepperoni slices were cold – disappointing that there was no offer to heat them up. They were excellently flavored and quite edible, even the crust. Well balanced for cheese and sauce, unique small pepperoni rings and a nice«kick». The hot slice arrived as I was finishing. It was firey oven hot – I was warned– and I STILL managed to burn the roof of my mouth. Almost too hot(and too greasy) to enjoy. You can’t beat the $ 1 a slice deal. No one was breaking down the door to eat here at 4 pm.(2 employees leaning on counters despite messy tables needing cleaning.) I could rate the flavor and price of the pizza four stars easily. The hot-cold and service issues really dumb down the place. They advertise a $ 1.50 chicken finger that looked good. Mine was a one-time visit to the area. They need an image makeover. *This is not the same pizza joint as Mr. Ventry’s on Pierce.
