Anytime I have had to exchange an item for size or other reason, they have been very accommodating. Their customer service representatives were pleasant and helpful. I have placed probably two dozen orders with them, and will do more in the future.

This is the local resource for all things camping and outdoors! I have had great success getting just the right maps for everything in the whole area. Recently a friend of mine flew in from Colorado to hike over 300 miles. She was able to purchase maps and bite valves and other odds and ends, pay over the phone with a credit card, and I was able to pick the items up. The customer service is good and I will continue to use camp saver as a resource!

I bought some gear from CampSaver online because they had what I was looking for at a significantly lower price than any competitor. I opted for the free economy shipping and due to a mishap with my local mail carrier, I did not receive my item on time. I was more than a little concerned at first. However, the CS staff reassured me that they would assist me in figuring out what went wrong and would help solve any problem. It turns out my mail carrier delivered my item to the wrong address. The other person opened my gear and eventually dropped it off to me, with no note, packaging or anything. A little sketchy but it worked out. The point is that the CS staff was more than reassuring throughout this debacle, even though the issue was with the USPS and not them. It was nice to feel like I was I dealing with a real person who was genuinely concerned that I get my stuff, rather than a corporate entity primarily concerned with their own liability… I would def purchase gear from them again.

Wow, they had a product listed on their site with the sale price, but out of stock. I was informed that they would have it in a few days, but they couldn’t offer the sale price. Their solution was to have me look at their same brand sale items which were in no way the same. Talk about bait and switch. Be warned.

I shopped around several outdoor retailers and Camp Saver had the most competitive prices for particular products. I purchased a few items recently including a couple of leatherman multi tools. One of the colors I had ordered was not in stock and I was notified immediately. The staff offered to send me the leatherman in a different color that was more expensive at no additional charge! I’ve bought quite a few things here and always had a great experience. Prices are very competitive. When things are on sale or clearance the prices are incredible! They ship fast and since I’m in CO and they are in UT I get things fast. I just had to do my first return and customer service was top notch! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend CampSaver.

It appears Camp Saver is selling B quality defective shoes as new. I ordered 2 pairs of the same shoes and both had the same defect with the left shoe only. Probably from the same bad lot. I had to pay to return the shoes. Don’t waste your time or money here.

Great customer service, as others have written about. A recent order never got to me, although it showed as pkg delivered in the shipping company’s tracking info, and Campsaver quickly and happily sent me a replacement item, with a discount to match the price of the products that never got here. Cheapest prices and top notch customer service. Free shipping and they paid returned return shipping on one of the items I had ordered the wrong size with a prompt refund. Most of the time they were the cheapest prices I could find but if not, it is worth it to buy from them just because you know they run an honest business and give you no hassles. No lie, it was the most hassle-free return I have ever made in my life. They paid they sent me the return shipping for my mistake. I will buy from them in the future for everything I need that they carry!

If I can give a no star rating I would. Yes, the site offers slightly cheaper prices(with promo code) for a few clearance items, but it’s definitely not worth the headache. They just lost over $ 479 worth of my business due to their idiotic policy(I placed two orders, received one with no problem, the other order somehow cause them to panic– received an email after their business hours stating that in order for my order to be put through I had to wait for an undisclosed refund amount on my credit card to post on my account(even though they already charged the full amount of the sale) then call them and give them that amount to verify I’m the purchaser). I’ve purchase thousands of items throughout various e merchants over 20 years and never been subjected to this type of backwards policy. I’ve communicated with them via email and telephone to resolve the situation… all they can say is we’re trying to protect ourselves and the customer… and the purchase amount was large, and the billing address is different from the shipping address. Totally lame. I don’t need your protection, that’s what my credit card company’s fraudulent department is for. My credit card had no restriction as to where the items can be sent. Customers don’t just stay home and wait for a package to be delivered or what about if the items were a gift? Obviously I am the card holder and the purchase is legit or else I wouldn’t be wasting my time emailing and calling to resolve their archaic process. They need to figure out what customer service is in the real world. I rather cancel the order and return the order I received then to give them any business.

CampSaver went so far beyond my expectations during a complicated transaction this week that«Woohoo! As good as it gets!»( Unilocal’s description of a 5-star rating) is a bleak understatement. Though the story of my purchase with CampSaver is long, I’m going to briefly summarize in order to illustrate what OUTSTANDING customer service I received. After officiating his wedding, a friend wanted to show his thanks by buying me a piece of climbing gear. Being a supporter of small/smaller businesses(as I am and as more of us should be), he went with CampSaver. When the piece came in, I decided it wasn’t what I needed at that time and called CampSaver to set up an exchange. I sent the piece back, and by way of an honest mistake they credited the cost back to my friend’s credit card. D’oh! Now he’d know that I returned his gift, something I’d wanted to avoid. I’d also lost the store credit, unless I wanted to go to him and ask if he’d re-buy me a thank-you gift. If this transaction were with a larger company, the story would have ended there. But not on CampSaver’s watch! Their head of customer service reached out to me that same day, apologized sincerely, offered me the full credit of the returned item(swallowing that cost themselves, as my friend also got his original money back), and to top it off gave me an additional 15% off the new item I chose. This is a rare story of a company so far exceeding your expectations that they instantly win your loyalty for life. So I say to you, oh Unilocal reader: gear up with confidence. This outfitter’s service will not let you down.
