Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm and Bed & Breakfast

Definitely an interesting place — I mean you’re in the middle of Kansas and you can see giraffes and kangaroos up close (and all sorts of other animals, but really — who gets to feed a giraffe and kangaroo by hand?)
The tour is probably worth it — you get to spend some time with the animals, and you can pet most — but you are not given time to really interact, as you’re moved along quickly.
What’s more is the staff is not particularly friendly. When we arrived, we were told to wait outside the office (in Kansas heat) until tour time. Then when tour time arrived, we went back inside, and were scolded for not being there on time. Seriously? It’s not like anyone mentioned it was time to go inside, and they were the ones who told us to wait outside.
The experience is pretty awesome, and I’m glad we went. But the customer service could use some improvement.
Note: This was for the tour only. it is possible that if you spend the night at the place, the experience is different (though to be fair, I’m not sure I’d want to do that).

only reason I gave 1 star is because it makes you… The place in itself was a cool concept and was fairly clean however what makes them get a bad review from me is their STAFF… My daughters and myself were treated SO rudely after waiting 2 full hours in an empty office just to ask about admission… prices…tickets and info… then once a staff member finally did return to the office she basically told us to leave because she was on a tour… understaffed ??? Idk… but ZERO customer service skills or kindness to little kids who are or WERE so excited to see the animals! BAD EXPERIENCE .if u must go… make 100 million % sure you call ahead and I’ d suggest asking if they have enough staff to accommodate you before your arrival!
