I decided to take my family by train to Chicago. We are from northern Michigan and could catch the train at many locations. We settled on niles. Why? Look at the place! Built on 1896, it feels as if you are reliving history. The waiting room is great, and the Amtrak counter guy was extremely helpful. Parking is free, and the ambiance is perfect. The kids had a great experience and the help was exemplary. Thanks niles, we will be back!

Love the charming Niles train station! Wonderful staff, historic train station, pretty flowers and landscape. It reminds you of how train travel used to be.

Limited hours but the staff is friendly when they are there. The building is beautiful and reminiscent of when train travel was the only way to see the country. When the building is closed you will have to check your phone to make sure the train is on time(which it almost never) and then wait. But that is not the beautiful buildings fault.

Great wooden benches. Get a donut down the street in downtown Niles and wait for your girlfriend to arrive from Ann Arbor.
