I went there last night on a restaurant, com coupon n would have left if I didn’t have the coupon. It was super loud n even the waitress couldn’t hear u! Service was slow even though at 8pm we seemed to be the only customers. The order was not completely right either. Despite the coupon stating No expiration date, owner would not honor coupon. She stated I had to deal with on my own, it was not her problem. I must admit one thing though, in all fairness, the food was good n salad very fresh.

Went here the other night & had a great time. The owner & staff were very friendly. Cool atmosphere & great drinks! This place has a pool table, beer pong etc. Cool layout with several different rooms to hang in.

I went to Capone’s Hideout because I had a Living Social $ 40 deal which I purchased based on Unilocal reviews. Unfortunately, when I arrived this past Friday, September 16, 2011, I couldn’t use it because(a) they had only 1 type of red wine;(b) no chef so no food. Maybe this place is great late at night, but I live far away and went at dinner time and no food, no beer I wanted and no wine. Pretty sad — and I’m upset I bought the Living Social deal.

Great bar! The best one in the neighborhood! One night me and a friend went in there and it was pretty late, around closing time and the bartender stayed open just for us it was pretty nice. The bartender was very friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the drinks are awesome. The interior is beautiful with comfy sofas and party rooms. They even have a private room with it’s own bar for parties. They also have a back patio where smoking is also permitted. I’d deffinately reccomend this place to a friend.

This review is for the food and experience we had here. After reading the many positive reviews I suggested that my coworkers and I come here for a team lunch. Being that there was outdoor seating area, it fit the criteria. It is a very cool looking interior, and the outside felt like we were on someone’s back porch. The service was a bit slow since there was only one person working. I felt really bad for her. I had Capone’s Special Tuna Salad, and it was pretty good. Everyone else’s meal looked very tasty as well, but the salad portion sizes felt small. The burgers and sandwiches looked like the better way to go. The prices were average, but this seems like more of a spot to drink that come and eat.

Okay, Capone’s Hideout deserves an update. After our interesting experience we were contacted by the manager, Tim. He apologized for our experience and invited my boyfriend and me back for dinner and drinks. Admittedly we were a little apprehensive, but agreed to try it again. As we were driving there we debated skipping it and going for a nice Italian dinner instead. I insisted that would be rude and that we should stop by even for a short while since we promised we would. We were pleasantly surprised. We introduced ourselves to Tim and then the owner, who makes a terrific Long Island, by the way! They took the time to talk to us, and Tim told us about the history of the place. He seems quite taken with that blood stain on the floor from years ago! Finally the bartender(who I mentioned wasn’t so good with the Long Islands) came in. Again, nice as can be,(hi Angie!!!) and her Long Islands are much improved! We each ordered a horseshoe sandwich, which were delicious. And my boyfriend couldn’t stop talking about the salad. So good. It seemed to be an older crowd. I think at one point we might have been the youngest and we are in our mid-forties. We had to be up early the next morning so we didn’t stay for the band. Hopefully another time. I could very easily suggest Capone’s Hideout as a place to meet up with my friends – soon!

It’s a really neat space with cool history and they have free pool and good drink specials(Wednesday was $ 10 buckets) but the atmosphere and food left something to be desired. I went with a group of 3 and we were the only people there save for a few gentleman who appeared to be regulars(they were serving themselves) at the bar. We got mozzarella stick appetizers and they were definitely microwaved from a bag. We all got a horseshoe to eat(3 with burgers and 1 with chicken) and though the portion size was good, it seemed like it hadn’t been cooked well because the various components were all different degrees of cooked(like the peppers were almost raw but my burger was charred on the outside). We had a gift certificate for $ 25 and they told us they had changed it to $ 10 since they no longer have a full menu and would only give us $ 10 off our bill. Since I printed it that same night, they really didn’t have a case but that didn’t save them from putting up a fight. They have a stage and some bands booked so I’d be interested to see what it looks like on a Saturday night.

«The lap dance is better when the stripper is crying» was playing on the jukebox. An interesting introduction to a really cool place. Capone’s Hideout is an old, old bar with a lot of history, dating back to the days of prohibition. It is run by some really cool young folks that have a strong sense of the history within their establishment. I really like that. We had lunch there on Saturday and both ordered sandwiches called The Horseshoe. The history of this sandwich dates back to 1921. It is basically a feast on a hot metal platter. I had it with the hamburger patty and Christopher had his with the ham steak. It was really good. They also brought us a basket of freshly popped popcorn, so we were in 7th heaven. I was not nuts about my margarita. It was too sweet for my taste, but I was content to switch to diet coke. Neither of us are big drinkers. They are still working on the place … literally. There were workmen in there tweaking this and that. The people all seemed very friendly and I think this spot has great potential. We will be back. There are many other items on the menu I look forward to trying.

Capone’s Hideout(formerly The Village Tavern) on Milwaukee Ave. just over the Chicago border is a really cool place. The owners are super friendly, have one hell of a menu, great drink prices, and lots of fun things to do. Free pool, foosball, darts, and some assorted games scattered around for your entertainment. There’s a new stage in there now, and the 2 times we’ve been there in the last month both bands were REALLY good! There’s a blood stain in the corner of the bar where a gangster was gunned down back in the 20’s or 30’s. Al Capone actually used to hang out here. How cool is that?! The deco in here is pretty cool too. Check out all the cool iron work and other interesting memorabilia. Great place to throw a Roaring 20’s party, a gangster themed party, or just to hang out.
