The owner Shawn is really cool. The chicken wings here are the best. The soju is ice cold. Great hangout spot for drinks and food with your friends.

The food was great, but the atmosphere? Not so much. Maybe I’m just too old for this place(I’m 30, but a total stick in the mud), but between the dim lighting, colored fluorescent accent lights, and loud dance music, I felt more like I was in a night club than a restaurant. The place also smelled musty, which put me off at first, but it wasn’t the worst thing. I had the bulgogi, and it was delicious and very filling. A surprisingly large portion for the nominal price of $ 9. Unless you like really loud club music, I’d suggest you stick to takeout.

Been coming here for years for drinks and to eat good Korean food. They play Korean music on weekdays and lately they have been playing edm and top 40’s on the weekend! Warning — the owners recently changed and there are many things on the menu that are no longer available… Including the oven baked garlic chicken and the marinated beef salad! So sad :(I hope the new menu is good. The fried chicken is delicious and so crispy. The baked pork(thick cut Sam gyup sal) is good too!

They used bad pork belly samgyupsal and it made me sick with diarrhea. Their owner or waitress whatever she is never smile not saying hello to customer. I went there many times with my friends but yesterday I was very disappointed with quality of their food and service.

Their food is GREAT. I’m always torn on what to order every time. I usually go on a weekday night, so it’s pretty slow since most people come here to drink on weekends. Service is pretty good and they have a big selection of bottled beers.

My Korean friends like to go here. The fries are super pipin’ hot and super delicious. The first time I brought white people here I tried to have my white people friends wait in the car with me until my Korean friends arrived because I don’t speak much Korean and I’m weird like that. After waiting about 5 minutes my white people friends were like screw this and decided to go in without me. I waited another 5 minutes and got sick of waiting, so i went in as well and found my white people friends at the bar drinking vodka and soju. Mission accomplished: I didn’t have to tell the workers me no speaky Korean. DMZ is the line between North and South Korea. I did not know that. One of my white people friends I brought to this bar informed me. And i just wikipediaed it, and it’s true.

Love this place they stay open late I always come here for delicious late night spicy oven baked wings. In fact this place has stayed open late for me just to make me wings for my girl who’s always hungry at like 3 or 4am love the people that’s work there the boss is very nice and the bartender is real cool. Food is good and selection of beers and liquor are good as well only down side they do not make dirty martinis and the martini list they have on the menu is a lie cuz they never have the materials.

I like location, menu, price… only thing I don’t like is service. They always make me uncomfortable whenever I visit whether they are busy or not. I only go this place when other bars closed. This place open late.

Great place to hang out, drink, and eat with friends. I’ve never been here on a busy night and I think I prefer the slower weeknights when my friends and I do come by. Service is good, the dim lighting and lounge-like set up isn’t a new concept but it’s a nice touch nonetheless and executed fairly well, there are tons of TV screens everywhere and current KPOP songs playing to remind you that you are indeed in a Korean bar, and they’re open really late which is great because not a lot of places around that area remain open after midnight. I recommend the yogurt soju pitchers to share. To those who don’t know, it’s basically a pitcher of soju, those yakult/yogurt drinks, and some lemon-lime soda. Extremely good. Not really a place to devote a dinner date to, but more like a place to go drink and nibble on food after a good dinner.

Food here is expensive and doesn’t taste good by any means. Waste of money in my opinion. The oh dang tang is like water with a little oh dang in it.

there are only a couple of korean bars that i go to and dmz is one of them. its been around forever it seems like and they have the best pizza puffs! there are actually days that i crave their piping hot and crispy pizza puffs(with its questionable but delish pizza sauce filling)! i actually went here with my friend to just chat and grab a bite to eat and tried their kimchi gook su(kimchi mar ee gook su) and i was very pleasantly surprised. i was actually craving something refreshing and this definitely was the perfect dish. it was spicy, tangy, very kimchi-y and packed with enough noodles, cucumbers, and kimchi for that crunchy bite. it does look HUGE when it comes to the table… but there was actually a lot of ice in the bowl that makes it look like you get more than what you really get. the service was great considering how slow it was…(it was a sunday evening and it was raining).

They charge you for everything. Same old food need to update there menu. Staffing unprofessional. Need to change the theme. Do they ever change the oil that use to deep fry. Somebody should call the health department. Did you know that the deep fryer oil us supposed to filtered and cleaned daily. Freaking Gross. Never again.

I would give zero stars if I could. Service is horrible. Our server laughed at us for asking about the portion of the food. Didn’t know that question was so funny. They charge $ 12 for one dried squid. The servers sit and chat with their friends while on the clock. Our server never came back after giving us our drinks and food. It’s a shame because the drinks are not bad at all. Horrible service though. Would not come here ever again.

It’s a Korean bar, but I swear, I can hear Lil Jon’s song«Shots shot shot!» playing in the background(or my head). I’ve never heard of soju, but the cousin brought me here as a post bday bash, and boy did I need it(gosh those holidays did a number on me and my wallet). After one yogurt soju pitcher, I had a nice buzz on. After 2 pitchers, I was giggling like a schoolgirl and the white guy at the bar blowing kisses and making googly eyes at me wasn’t quite so annoying. Cant say I remember if they have karaōke,(blame it on the AL, AL, AL-CO-HOL) but I do remember the Bulls game on, and tons of other Asians at this low key spot. Probably not so low key anymore, oops

A w e s o m e with a capital A. Took my cousin here once and she loved it! I used to be a Korean novela fanatic and always wondered where the heck can I get soju at an actual bar and not just at assi? DMZCAFE, that’s where! Great drink list, but lezbhonest were here for the soju! We picked the $ 22 pitcher yogurt soju, and it was fantabuloso! Got a beautiful buzz after ONE pitcher. Normally at a Mexican restaurant you get tortilla chips and salsa, but at dmz café you get complimentary popcorn! Love the popcorn! The place is very clean with leather booths and flat screen tvs! So we were able to watch the bulls game! I love drose! I definitely recommend this place. Must come back to check out their food menu.

Went here on Friday and discovered they have a happy hour with pretty good happy hour prices from 5 – 9 on weekdays including Friday! Surprising and such a shame I never knew it since I always go so late at night. Either way, all the Anju is half off during this time plus drinks specials. It was pretty awesome getting Cheese Don Kasu for 6.50! Plus it came out sizzling hot, was very tasty, plus a big portion that not only served as my dinner Friday night but my lunch the next day. I love me some DMZ!

I wouldn’t necessarily call this place a hidden gem or diamond in the rough, but it is a nice place in an unassuming mini mall. The lay out is spacious, has a loungy feel to it. There a bunch of TV’s lining the wall with K-pop blasting though the speaker. I came here for my friends bday. When I arrived at 9PM, the place was empty. But that changes by around 11. Drinks are reasonably priced, so is the food. The place stays open until 4 or 5AM which is nice knowing there is another place open late in suburbs. It’s a nice place to chill, hangout and have a drink and/or a bite to eat.

I’m starting to hit the upper age ceiling on hanging out at Corean bars, but I’ll make an exception for DMZ. The drink selection is diverse, the menu is tasty, and although I’m not a fan of loud, crowded, dark hangouts, the space is accommodating enough for a group of friends or a night of getting-to-know-you. The only thing that sucks for me is that it’s so far out in the burbs. If it were in the city, it’d be a slam dunk. The yougurt Soju cocktails and are the best!

This is the place to go if you wanna get your soju on. They have hella different kinds of cocktail soju: yogurt, grape, lemon, apple, strawberry… well you get the picture. I’ve tried every one. I’m such a glutton. It’s got a lot of seating to accommodate everyone. The only bad thing is that they only have one bathroom(per gender). What does this place have that no other sool jips have? Pizza puffs! Make sure you double check the tab before you leave though.
