By far the best Serbian deli in the Chicago area. Fresh cevapcici, burek, suvo meso, all home made and ready to go. Nice home style atmosphere with friendly staff and authentic European foods. If you’re home sick for the old country come visit Lalich for a taste of what your Baba used to make when you were a wide eyed child. Simply delicious

This little Serbian deli is amazing! The owner is very friendly and their deli selection is great. Their store made cevapcici sausages are incredible and become instant favourites of anyone who is lucky enough to have shared some with us! We grill them year round as a special treat for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

We have been visitng this store a couple of times a year for about 6 years. Recently I stopped in to buy our usual cevapcici so my husband could take it on a fishing trip. They happened to sell the last of it 2 minutes before I got there. They offered to get some from their other store in the morning and I said I would pick it up the following afternoon. Unfortunately, the pick up was forgotten in the morning but he called me to let me know and offered to deliver it to my house. You just don’t see customer service like that anymore. We were very impressed and will continue to patronize this store and try some of their other meats.

Actually Lalic is an ethnic serbian place. You can find more information about his place at the Serbian Yellow Pages as well. They have a business out in Lawrence Ave. My dad usually gets his magazines and news papers from the retail store. He has alot of imports from all over the former ex yugoslav republics like serbia, bosnia, croatia, macedonia. slovenia…Whatever you want. He has it all. He has good poultry like different kinds of dried bacon.

Excellent chevapcici!!! Both Serbian and Romanian Style. And AWESOME service! I usually call ahead of time to order and then go pick them up on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. This Sunday we went to Church and then I realized I was craving for some chevapcicis. It was 1:50 when I called them and asked what time they were closing(it was 2:00PM) and if they have any left. They had 30 pieces, Romanian style — with garlic. They offered to wait for me after closing time! I was 7 miles away and traffic was bad… I got there at 2:17PM, the owner and his wife were waiting for me. One hour later, the chevapcicis were on the grill, sizzling :) What can I say? Thank you and God Bless You!

The best place with one of the nicest(if not the nicest) owners I have ever met. The owner and counter guy Zoran is awesome! The food is awesome. The family owned place(since 1991) is clean and well-stocked in everything from food to magazines and newspapers… You cannot ask for anything else. If you like Serbian food or even if you do not know a Serbian from a Syrian go there and support!(And tell your friends of course)… P. S. They also have a their main location on Lawrence Ave(awesome as well) which used to be our family’s main spot but with my own family I think this will be mine from now on…

I was almost certain that no Balkan shop could be as good as my beloved Bosnian Supermarket. Mr. Lalich proved me wrong from the moment he greeted me with a hearty«dobar dan» until we parted ways with a friendly«dovidjenja.» You’re going to find just about anything your heart desires. I was under the impression that meat was the specialty. That’s what it appears to be, but I ended up here for last minute crêpe fixing needs. They had everything I was looking for and more. The first section. contains mostly sweets, cookies and spreads. They have imported honey, jams, fruits and chocolate spreads. The second section is mostly dry goods. You’ll find sugar, coffee, etc. The third area is dedicated to imported books. Bubamara Knjizara delivers an assortment of good reads every few days. This is great for anyone who would like some B/C/S books in either latinica or cirilica. The best part is you don’t have to go all the way downtown to the actual store to buy them. Mr. Lalich is more than willing to place an order. He spent a good ten minutes trying to track down a copy of Na Drini Cuprija in cirilica for me. No such luck, but he said he’ll keep his eye out. The largest sections contains all types of meats. You can find pork, lamb, beef, poultry. They have some of the best dried meat slabs you can find. I like the slanina, which is basically a smoked bacon. As he rang up the last of the items I was sure that my total would be at least $ 50. It came out to a little under $ 30 for a huge jar of Nutella, a jar of rose hip jam(sipak), half a pound of smoked pork(suva slanina), a book and a large package of Turkish coffee. In case you didn’t figure it out by now, this is my new go-to, one-stop shop for all things Balkan. I love Chicagoland!
