Vertical Blinds Factory and Horizontals, Too!

Went to Home Depot to purchase some
replacement Valance brackets for my vertical blinds. Waited for 10 minutes for customer service only to be informed that Home Depot did not carry that product in their blinds department.
Went to the Vertical Blinds Factory and was waited on right away by Sal.
Sal knew immediately what I needed and sold me my replacement brackets.
I was in & out of the store in 5 minutes.
Of course I could have shopped on line and waited a week for delivery. Thanks Sal, for having what I needed, when I needed it.

Had my Hunter Douglas blind restrung for $ 50. Husband and wife owners. New blinds would have cost me $ 500. Very pleased with the responsiveness, price and honesty. I will probably get my living room/​dining room sheers from them. Delightful people.

There’s a good reason the fancy homes in publications like Chicago Tribune Magazine’s annual home décor issue don’t feature kids in them. Stuff gets broken and there’s a clutter of toys all around, which will disqualify most homes with kids. Instead of post-​modern, you get post-​broken. So goes with us too.
I’m not sure if my older son or the Stunt Baby did it, but one of the slats in my vertical blinds was misaligned by 90 degrees from the rest of them and refused to shut properly. Upon closer inspection, I realized the top part of it was cracked and about to fall off. So I stopped in at the place where I bought them. The helpful manager in the store found the exact style I had, despite 3 years since I purchased the blinds. For $ 5 he cut me a new strip and I was out in 10 minutes or less. Since I bought the blinds there, he offered to fix the track for free while I wait if I bring it in. Now I’m not going to take down a 10-​foot track spanning my picture window and 2 side windows, as it will be a lot more work than what he will need to do once he gets it. For now I got the new slat and the blinds aren’t perfect, but hey, I’ll wait till another gets broken and make it worth my time.
