Porshia at Hair Design

Porshia was fantastic! Not only did she accommodate the later hours to allow me to come in after work, but she was very welcoming and friendly (the whole gang at Hair Design was super friendly)! She did a great job and really helped give my crispy, in desperate need of a revitalization, hair a lift! The color is perfect and the cut frames my face well and took off the bad ends. Thanks again, Porshia!

Porshia is amazing! I was passing through town and just popped in b/​c I was sick of my hair. I’ve gotten so many compliments on the cut over the last two months. I’m sad I don’t live closer. I would definitely be a return customer.

I have had my hair cut and styled by Porshia since I first met her when looking for an up-​do for my best friend’s wedding in November of 2010. Before Porshia, I’ve went from stylists to stylist armed with pictures and I’ve never gotten the exact hair cut that I wanted. Sometimes other stylists would style it and it would look great until the next day after I wash my hair. When Porshia works on my hair, it’s always exactly what I want AND stays that way even without styling!
Below is the first review I wrote — 5 visits later (I just went today and got a symmetrical bob now), I am still very picky and still very happy!
I made an appointment for the bang trim and consultation and met Porshia. She was super nice during the consult so I decided to book the up-​do with her. Since I’m really picky I showed her exact pictures of what I want it to look like (Penelope Cruz’s side chignon) — I had the front, side and back pics. I was very particular about the way the hair twists in the back. The end result was better than I imagined. I was so happy… I did not even know it was possible for my hair to look that nice! The hair held up for the next 8 hours during the hectic day — because Porshia had used like 30 bobby pins to put it all together! Nobody could even tell (including me LOL).
Given the awesome job Porshia did, I went back to get my asymmetrical bob cut after the wedding (Hebe Tian’s short hair style). I showed her some pictures and she asked me what it is that I like about the hair. This is the first time a hair stylist has asked me that — it goes to show she really wants to understand not just WHAT I want but WHY. This level of detail obviously paid off. Since I’m blind without glasses, I could not see the entire time she was cutting my hair. When she was done, I was amazed that my hair looked EXACTLY like the picture of Hebe’s hair that I showed her.
Bottom line — you get what you paid for here.
