Shady Beach Campground & Canoeing

This place is absolutely Shady. The river closed due to flooding so they stole my deposit. Avoid at all costs.

We went on a float trip and camped here. The river is super clean. I’m not much of an out doors person so I was excited to see clear water that I wasn’t afraid to swim in. The campsite is well mowed and I’m sure they must spray for bugs because I didn’t have one tick or mosquito bother me the whole trip. I liked being able to walk 3 minutes and take a shower at the end of the day (That’s my kind of camping)! The only complaint I have is that at one point 3 of the 4 toilets were clogged and overflowing in the bathroom. I felt it was more sanitary to poop in the woods, but the camper’s tents are really close to each other so this was not a possibility either. I kind of wish the tents were a little further apart, but other than that I had a great time. Forty bucks to float all day in a clean river and forty bucks to camp at a bug free camp site and be able to take a shower whenever I wanted was totally worth the money!
