This is definitely a case of don’t judge a book by its cover. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first came here but it was recommended so I figured why not try it. Upon entering I really expected nothing great from Joseph’s Diner. The restaurant is a little older on the inside but to my surprise the food was really delicious and the prices are very reasonable. You definitely get your monies worth here and more. The service is generally pretty descent and I’ve never had a problem getting a seat right away. I really enjoy the Irish Skillet which is two eggs on top of corned beef hash and hash browns. The corned beef hash is made fresh and is some of the best I’ve had any where. The marble rye toast is good and they also have fresh tasting water which can be sometimes hard to find. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner which is great since most breakfast houses aren’t open all day. The portions are generous so you won’t leave hungry. Also, the menu has so much to choose from including many great breakfast items to garlic knots and pizza. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I personally keep it in my restaurant rotation.

Stopped here for breakfast. This place is kind of a hidden gem, really. Doesn’t look like much outside or in, so no positives for ambiance, but the restaurant was clean and we did experience excellent service by friendly, personable staff. Very respectful, helpful, patient and attentive. Our meals were freshly prepared, hot and flavorful except for the toast, which was cold. Menu prices are in line with other restaurants in the area. Specials can be a great value. Thus, a solid four star rating overall!

Food is great. will definitely go back. Have been once only, and tried to go back Sunday, but they close at 2 pm. Not knowing this, we arrived AT2 and were greeted when walking through the door by a very rude older waitress who barked at us «we’re CLOSED!!» As she stuffed her face with her own lunch. Rude! Also, lock the door, then. Burgers were delicious as were the onion rings. Our waitress on first visit couldn’t have been nicer. Plentiful portions. Sounds like the breakfasts are worth a try too.

Best Stromboli I’ve ever had. Great breakfast too. Garlic knots and pizzas are so good too.

Have eaten 4 times. Their pizzas, soups, Stromboli, meat loaf and Reuben sandwich were all delicious. Home cooking with reasonable prices how can you go wrong!!! For example $ 3.50 for a bowl of homemade soup. Our grandkids love it and the service is very fast so they don’t get antsy. A great find.

Before I say anything, know that I’m giving 5 stars based solely upon the food. The character in the place is lacking but the food will surprise you. My family and I got to Venice late on December 26th for vacation and were desperate for dinner but had no idea where to go, we wanted something quick and easy and were all in travel sweats so nothing super nice. We came across Joseph’s diner by looking up restaurants on google and I’m so glad we did. The waitor was sweet and the dinner menu had a good selection. We were nervous about the food based on the place but gave it a shot. Went with chicken parm, meatball sub, Italian sub, a salad and a wrap. The portions are HUGE and delicious!!! Great onion rings and the best garlic knots I’ve ever had. The breakfast menu was so temping that we found ourselves back two days later. French toast, omelettes, egg salad, all incredible. I have to say that mine, the southwestern skillet which was hash browns topped with scrambled eggs, sausage, veggies and sausage gravy took the cake. CHECKTHISPLACEOUT! You won’t regret it.

I had the balsamic chicken wrap and it was pretty lame. In their defense it was 10am but I had been up since 4 and didn’t want breakfast. My first choice was eggplant Parmesan sandwich. But it wasn’t available yet. Hubby had breakfast and loved it. I will give them another shot though.

A gem! Faster than IHOP or Denny’s and locally owned and operated. The pancakes were huge– both in diameter and thickness. The corned beef hash was homemade and fantastic. The place was clean and friendly, not shiny franchise new, but not dingy.

Great food at reasonable prices. The pizza is superb with fresh ingredients and dough made daily. The relaxed atmosphere is an added plus. Great food.

This diner off of US41 in Nokomis is a casual, family friendly restaurant. Our group ordered a variety of different dinner dishes including Chef’s Salad, spaghetti and meatballs, stromboli, and the daily special which was meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The homemade garlic knots are so crisp and delicious! The food is tasty. We’ll be back to try other menu items including the pizza.

Joseph’s Diner and Pizza Restaurant is a unique place, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner… and they do them all well. We had breakfast there with a group of five friends and everyone raved about the meal. We have had lunch(my husband highly recommends the home made soups) and dinner in the past. We even brought my family one night to share with them this little treasure. The ambiance is a little lacking but the food and staff more than make up for that. Today I had the french toast and others had vegetable skillet breakfast(huge) and omelets and the like. The recurring comment was that everything tasted so fresh and flavorful! We have had some of the dinners. I tried the shrimp Alfredo(heavenly) and my husband has had both the chicken and eggplant parms… both were great. My sister and her husband had the pizza that they thoroughly enjoyed. Based on the number of pies flying out the door, the locals have found Joseph’s for pizza. They are open on Sunday until 2:00 but are open the rest of the week.

We passed a ton of chain restaurants searching for a breakfast place. We found Joseph’s in a nondescript strip mall. We hesitated long enough to read Unilocal reviews and liked what we saw. While the physical store itself is slightly dated it is immaculately clean. Great first impression. We were greeted/seated immediately. Breakfast menu had a good variety of choices inc very delicious homemade corn beef hash. Ditto for home fries. No Sysco food here. Just down home good cooking. Highly recommend. Who doesn’t deserve a great breakfast!?!

The dinner selections were a bit sparse but we were very happy with our gyro and Reuben sandwiches. My wife ordered fresh fruit with hers and I had homemade potato chips and they were great and there was plenty of them.

Just had lunch there. The food was ok, but they need to clean their floors. We can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Found this place for breakfast. It is very tucked in to the corner of a strip mall. It Was seemly the only option in the area. We were pleasantly surprised. Great corned beef hash and eggs. Friendly and attentive service. Bus it’s were not too good Unfortunately. I would have liked a fresh batch.

I have only had the opportunity to eat breakfast and lunch here. The omelets are very good. The lunch fare is also quite tasty. If you’re looking for diner /coffee shop food this is a good choice. This is a family run business and has a real homey feel. Nothing real fancy. I hope to try the dinner menu soon and I’m sure that I won’t be disappointed.

Two breakfasts this Sunday morning. Very generous proportions and very well presented. Delicious. The menu has a wide variety of different offerings for breakfast(sorry, no scrapple for those of you from the NE) and lunches. Everything looks and sounds great. Alsina is gracious and accommodating(unfortunately no Sriracha yet for those in need of some hot additions, but maybe soon?). We’ll be back to check the other breakfast offerings and the lunch menu.
