Good southern food and warm friendly service. Old diner deco. Worth going back again and again.

Next best thing to Southern food. This was perfect for me when I was pregnant because I could no longer handle strongly flavored food(e.g. Indian). And I love a variety of vegetables. This place has everything I love — cabbage, collard greens, black eyed peas, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, corn bread, and tons of other selections. Today, they had brussel sprouts and steamed rutabegas too. Meats included: baked chicken, fried chicken, fried fish, meat loaf, pork ribs, pulled pork, sausage and peppers, pot roast, chili, and yes more. The food isn’t over flavorful, which was fine by me while pregnant. I am 5mo postpartum now, and eating here again. It is just right. And I said 2nd best to Southern because I believe a was a little more bland than true Southern food.

infinite variety here. I love the fried chicken, turkey and dressing and country fried steak. But I really come for the vegerables. Only place I know that you can get an adequate choice of healthy vegetables. I hope this place stays up and running! Much needed in this unhealthy fast-food world!

I’ve been working here at Norcross for a year and a half and have never heard of this place and have never seen this place! I’ve never been to a southern food buffet before so I had no clue what to expect. Me and my co workers came here for lunch around 1PM and it wasn’t too crowded, but what really caught my eye was the mural on the back wall and the cute dineresque dining tables and chairs. It was cute! So yeah I have to admit, this is probably the best fried chicken I’ve ever had! It was so fresh, hot, and decadently crunchy! They had a lot of southern comfort food of course i.e. broccoli cassarole, steamed cabbage, collard greens, and lots of gravy! Their white gravy is sooooo good! omg it was the right amount of savory and if you sprinkle some black pepper on it, it gets even BETTER!!! I like how they allowed me to take my sweet tea back to work! So that was great! I wish they did a better job of keeping the food in stock. I only get a 30 min lunch break so every minute is of essence. Also, they have tabasco peppers on the table. that was interesting. I never knew what those looked like. I’m so glad I was introduced to this place! Now i know where to get quick southern fast food assortments and probably the best fried green tomato I’ve ever had! suites the name if you ask me!

Fantastic food and great staff. Being at Lifetime for ITF tournament we were eating here almost every day. Excellent value for price.

Décor: outside looked clean, inside looked a bit retro(like it used to be a diner) for a southern food place, but it was kept clean and up to date. Food: definitely the best place I’ve had for southern food. They had many many different options, and they were timely in replacing foods that were gone. The staff came around the food lines constantly to check up on the food and make it was well enough to serve. I got to try southern foods that I normally wouldn’t try. My favorite was the collard greens and meat loaf(my first time eating it). Definitely will come back whenever I’m craving southern food especially with the $ 9 price. Left totally full and am grateful we took the chance to come by and check it out.

It’s a five star for a country buffet. Great country selection. Plenty of choices. Clean. Tucked away so not popular. Hope the word gets out because it’s the only country buffet I know.

Atmosphere: it’s a country cooking buffet. Very clean. We went on a Sunday afternoon. Service: Great service. Our waiter was attentive to our needs and managed to multitask multiple tables and side work. The staff kept fresh food out and continuously monitored the buffet for cleanliness. Food: Good taste for $ 10 a person. I’ve had better but I’d go there again. Mac & Cheese was really good. Overall: I enjoyed it. Saved me time from cooking dinner myself, reasonable price and good food.

I went there once on the way to my attorney’s office and it is the best buffet to exist. The only reason why I didn’t rate it a 5-star is because I didn’t get to try every selection of food that they serve. Golden Corral can not compete against Green Tomato. Truthfully, I haven’t come across any other buffet to stand a chance against this place. Will definitely go back when I am in the area!

The food here is incredible and extremely authentic. I was born and raised in the south so I know true southern cuisine when I taste it. Someone’s grandma has to be in the kitchen. This place is very reasonably priced. My husband and I ate all the food we wanted with drinks for 21.00. You cannot beat that. We sampled some of everything. The fried chicken, country fried steak, fried fish, fried shrimp, pork chops, collards, Mac & cheese, cabbage, broccoli casserole, rice & gravy, corn, fried green tomatoes, salad and all of the desserts. Everything was excellent!!!

Ummmm where do I start with this place. The food to me was just nasty. I can’t think of one item on there menu that I enjoyed. The place was just nasty looking to me also which didn’t help. Ionno the place just isn’t memorable at all. The staff was nice an friendly though

Wide variety of soul foods. My group enjoyed all the dishes. It was very clean, and priced super reasonable. The waiter was irritating. She continously complained about her pay and getting off work, she was rude and even poured the water with an attitude. The other waitress was walking around with a comb on her hair, which is gross.

Great selection. Very clean friendly and fast wait staff. For the price point you can’t beat it and in sharp contrast to other«buffet» type restaurants this place is ridiculously clean. The salads are fresh as are the veggies. Nice selection of America favorites — baked/fried chicken, Salisbury steak, etc. Only weakness was dessert bar — but hey we’re all trying to cut back right?

I’m not sure why this place doesn’t have more reviews. Me and my boyfriend stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after driving past the place. We took to Unilocal to check out reviews on it first. Its a southern food buffet and the 2 reviews we saw were OK so we tried it. We came in and were seated right away. Definitely not bad for the price. $ 18 for the two of us. The Mac n chhesr was excellent! Just like someone’s grandma made it. The fried chicken was really good. I love fried green tomatoes and these did not disappoint. They were just as good as my own. I also enjoyed the turkey and dressing. The mashed potatoes are real potatoes and not instant. I enjoyed the green beans. The sweet potatoes were pretty good too. I think that’s all I had, I got full pretty fast. Service was a bit crazy and unorganized. I wouldn’t say it was bad though. There was basically just one guy running around taking care of everyone. He made sure to keep checking on us though. I’ll probably come back here. The food is actually pretty good. Way better than Golden Corral in my opinion and you can’t beat the price. The place is owned by Asians, but don’t let that deter you. You’ll enjoy the food.

Not bad. That’s about the best I can do. I wish there was a way to differentiate between food ratings and service ratings. The food was good. Staples of the southern table. The chicken and dumplings were really good. :) My concern here lies with the service. When we walked in, a surly young lady behind the cash register didn’t acknowledge us, but briefly summoned a server to seat us. Service was ackward and felt forced somehow. What I couldn’t understand is why we were seemingly unable to get dirty dishes cleared away or refills on our drinks. I finally flagged down another server to do both. Service will make or break a product no matter how good or bad a product is. I don’t tolerate bad service — I did it for too many years myself. When your job consists of refilling drinks and clearing away dirty dishes, there should be no lag in service. They weren’t busy today. There’s no excuse for bad service. This alone will make me think hard before returning. Oh, and they are open on Saturdays now, but closed on Mondays.

Sooooooo. I knew it was bound to happen… the quality has dropped. No meat in the greens, mac and cheese made the day before, just metiocre. Ugh it sucks to be me during lunch time in Norcross. If you are reading this Green Tomato, step your game back up. Theres 12 people at my job that agree with me and are thinking of no longer coming here anymore.
