The worst! Placed in an order of fried Snapper Fish and a side of Efo-riro for take out over the weekend. On getting there to pick up the food, there were more than 10 take out orders in front of the receptionist. She started opening each plate to figure out which one was mine. Myself and my friend took it upon us to comment that we didn’t think that was sanitary and to tell their management or kitchen staff to find a way to label the food. While she was opening each plate, I thought I smelled some stale food. I told my friend who has been to the restaurant before, but he said he didn’t smell anything. On getting home, I opened the plate of efo-riro, although I only ordered a side($ 7). I was only given a scoop with a lot of stew swimming around it. I was like wtf??? It didn’t take bad but nothing was exceptional about the darn food. I went ahead to the next item on the menu. Once, I opened the place, the stale stench hit me like a raging car. I tossed the fish in the trash for the sake of not getting sick. I couldn’t take it back because not only was the place 40 mins drive from me but also looked up their reviews and noticed they didnt care so much for their customers and do indeed sell stale or spoilt food. What a waste of money and time. This was my first and will be my last time visiting this establishment. I must say I am very disappointing in them because I went there based on the hype and also that I am Nigerian. I hope the health department catches up to them soon

Awesome service and good food. The ambiance is great and unlike other Nigerian restaurants I have visited, they have what they post on their menu. Anytime I am in Atlanta I will definitely go back there.

Ike’s Café has hype because the owner allows party promoters and dj’s to eat free as long as they promote the restaurant. Stay far away!!! It took like 45 minutes for food to arrive, which I don’t mind, because it’s fresh right… NOT!!! I ordered tilapia grilled there was a lot of water on the bottom of my plate which indicated that the fish was probably frozen and warmed up. It was hot it was warm, I should have taken the food back but because of long throat I decided to eat it. I had that and jellof rice yesterday at 3PM, I’m still suffering from extreme diarrhea. There is no way I couldn’t let Unilocalers know stay away. How can food that was warmed in the microwave take so long to come only for my stomach to suffer?

First time eating here. I enjoyed myself. The DJ was good. The wait staff was polite and did an excellent job at explaining and suggesting dishes. I had the jollof rice, with beef and plantains. It wasn’t as good as my mama’s but it was good. Plantains were a tad dry. I tried my friends peppered mackerel that was good also. Everything was reasonably priced. I took off a star bc we waited for quite some time, but the wait was well worth it.

This is by far my favorite African restaurant. They have food from Ghana, Nigerian, & Cameroon. The food is very rich in flavors. Every time I go to Ike’s I always get the Ghanaian jollof and beef as well as the beef suya(one of the popular dishes). The ambience is very inviting and they play African music while you are enjoying your meal. The waitresses are always so pleasant. If you are in the ATL area definitely try them out.

I come to Ike’s for the Ghanaian jollof and banku with fish. It’s a great atmosphere to dine with your friends and family. I love the interior design of this establishment, it’s so warm and inviting. I would recommend Ike’s to anyone.

Bad place to eat! Dirty and no customer service waited 25 mins at a table with not server. Waited 10 mins to get seated and the place was not busy. I love my Nigerian but, disorganized, unclean and to sense of care.

My first time here and first time having Nigerian food. Simply amazing experience!!! Service was good, dj was rocking, wasn’t over crowded! Food was really good. I totally forgot the name of all the dishes I had but I will be back. Only reason I went to this place because my friend took me there…

I wish I had an option for no stars. I am currently on a road trip from Jersey to Houston and because of all the damn hype about Ike’s damn café I made sure one of my stops was Ike’s café. I walked in with my male friend and the host not even a smile walked us to out table. Upon arriving to the table it took the waiter about 10⁄15 min to come,(it was not busy at all –_-) she ask what we wanted I told her I need more time and I ask for water… that alone took time for some water… nothing special regular h20. when I finally got my food I had rice with egusi and tilapia… the fish tasted Like it wasn’t even cooked but microwaved and dipped in the soup and served… I guess I should have made it clear that I don’t eat red meat(beef, pork) but I found pieces of meat in my soup… so if you are vegetarian or pescaterian just be extremely careful… the plantain(like honestly how do u mess that up) was more than disappointing like… it wasn’t riped and it was still fried and serve tasted like chalk. My male friend had the ayamashe soup and rice his plantain was the same story and his food tasted like it was not made that day he described to me(mind you he’s been here before) I did not see the waitress again till it was time to pay… no check in… no refill on WATER… nothing… after finish eating we went outside to the patio and waited for two of our friends to join us before we got back o the road… when they came they join us outside… their waitress just had this attitude…(like all over her face) … she took the orders same story after delivery of food that was it till the bill came… Not 24 hours later my male friend has stomach aches and has been in and out of the toilet… my friend in Atlanta that joined us and the same exact problem… diarrhea since the night after eating at Ike’s… she called to let them know and all they can say is «sorry that happen to u»… LONGSTORYSHORTIF U ARENIGERIANANDYOUKNOWWHATOURFOODTASTELIKEORYOUHAVEHADHOMEMADENIGERIANFOOD. DONOTFEESINTOTHEHYPE… IKESISNOTHINGTOBEEXCITEDABOUT… I’m still upset.

This review is way over due! Ike’s Café and Grill is the best Nigerian Restaurant in the United States of America! I say that with confidence. Now before people criticize me let me explain. Ethnic restaurants in the United States have difficult tasks at hand. They have to be authentic, but cater to the American Palate. Ike’s has surpass all expectations. Besides being Nigerian, I’ve experienced many Nigerian restaurants in this country, Ike’s is superb. The décor is phenomenal and clean. The hostess staff is friendly and informative on the food selection. The food is perfection. I ordered Jollof rice and goat meat, and my friend had the Tilapia. I also had their Suya. They separated the meat, pepper, and the onions. This allowed you to season it to your preference. I cannot rave on Ike’s enough. The people in Atlanta are spoiled to have Ike’s in their vicinity. Well done!

Nice clean atmosphere, service, and great variety of good food, loved the jollof rice. My few issues were that the meat pie was dry and fell apart soon as I bit into it, and the shawarma was soggy, inside and out. But I highly recommend this place for good Nigerian and Ghanaian dishes too, just wish they sold other drinks apart from wine and beer.

The food and wait service is good and fast. Try the rolls they do offer if you ask. Always hit up the Beef Suya and Jollof rice can’t go wrong with that. My mother love the Pepper Fish(Snapper) with Yam… Good food. .huge fan.

This was my third time going and I won’t be back. Super slow service. They cut back on the portions and EVERY time I go they serve the same dish differently. I’ve had three different beef suyas and the third was terribly over cooked. The bathroom also is in need of some serious work.

Snails galore… I read a few negative reviews and passed on the opportunity to try Ike’s, huge mistake… we went for the peppered snail, and after the first bite I was literally transported to the side streets of surulere in Lagos. Brilliantly seasoned snails with onions, tomatoes & peppers… phenomenal flavours… a few bottles of star beer to wash it down as the Africans say… lush. The service… a little chaotic considering it was a Friday, the music… classic new age afrobeat which helped to create the mood. In all a brilliant experience…

Ike’s started great. Good food, hands down. BUT its getting annoying with their ration reduction. STINGY is the word, you can’t be stingy on something i’m paying for. They are reducing rations, and that’s straight up disrespectful. If customers pay for it, serve it to them. Always check your takeaway orders because there’s a good chance your order is messed up or rationed.

Best African food I’ve had in Atlanta. There is a bit of a wait but I understand the complexities of preparing these foods and delivering a authentically delicious restaurant quality African meal like what you get here. Loved it! I will be back again and again! I cant wait to try items I’ve never had. The staff is very professional and friendly! My hubby is Ghanian and was overjoyed with this dining experience.

Food: 3.5 Service: 4 Ambience: 5 Food — very mixed bag here. Very diverse West African menu with Nigeria, Ghanaian and Senegalese dishes. I am Nigerian and ordered Naija dishes because I cook them and know what they should taste like. I have been here several times. Yam Porridge = This is hands down the best thing I have had here. My waistline has suffered but my tastebuds are pleased with this. Jollof rice = Excellent Moi Moi = Yummy. Has a weird tomatoey taste but I welcome it Edikaikong = So-so, lacks the regular edible obstacles you’d expect and no bell peppers, onions in it. Needs more palm oil Pounded yam = Ok, I could tell that they used poundo flour Ayamase = Dayummmm, don’t order if you cannot stand the heat. This stuff had my ears burning. Really well made but can make you run mad Nkwobi = This is rubbish. Please, take this blasphemy off your menu until your chef learns how to make it. Thank you Suya = Awesome but not the real thing. More like well seasoned & grilled beef strips. Peanut soup = Very light and the assorted protein in it is underwhelming Plantain fufu = Pretty smooth and filling Meatpie = Big and $ 2!!! Price and taste have me on a high Service was really good(for an African restaurant). Waitress was pretty attentive. On weekends, be ready to spend enough time to drive to FL and back(aka waiting for hours) Ambience was excellent. I like the consistent and welcoming décor. They have a DJ with correct African(mostly Nigerian) music on Sunday Afternoon. Good place to wind down after church if you have time to spare(slow service) I will return but stay away from the Nkwobi. Please, discontinue or improve this menu item

Nice, spacious restaurant. Looks cleans and the waitstaff are friendly and welcoming. I had beef suya. It was rather tough and chewy. It came with red powdered pepper instead of the spicy suya pepper. The Watche was dry and didn’t taste too good. I’ll give this place a 2nd shot.

This has been my favorite for some months now, worth the drive from where I live. Ike’s crafts delicious and well-presented African dishes — Suya, fufu, plantain, egussi, red-red –(think Ghanaian, Nigerian, Liberian, and Cameroonian dishes; etc.) The service is always kind and efficient. The TASTE never disappoints! The menu has more than enough choices to keep you coming back to try something new or have an old favorite time and time again. The interior design is lovely, with deep reds, velvets, and gold paint and hardwood accents. Spacious and perfect for events like graduation and birthday dinners alike. Most certainly worth a try for everyone in Atlanta. ** Sidenote: Great for watching sporting events like the World Cup
