I went for my birthday and trust me, I never thought that I would’ve came here for a birthday. But it was perfect. The ambience was very quiet and was not crowded. so it felt very intimate and Jo homelike. I literally tried a little bit of everything. From a passion fruit milkshake, to pan de bono, arepa de chocolo, bandeja paisa, sancocho, pollo a la marinera, flan, ended with Colombian coffee.(Give me a break! It’s was my birthday!) I my favorite was the arepa de chocolo and flan and plantains. My only complaint about one plate was the pollo a la marinera. It is put together very beautifully but the chicken was kind of dry. The tomatoes kind of helped. I recommend this place if you’re in the area and want to try something different.

Went with the family for lunch. Pretty empty on a Monday. Ordered chicken dish and some appetizers. Have to say the food was authentic. Did notice some local Spanish people so guessed that it was authentic. I loved the food. It was very tasty. Highly recommend it

Love the food here. Came here for lunch with a friend of mine a few years ago and have been in love ever since. I get the same thing every time: the mini bandeja. So yummy. It comes with steak(or ground beef if you prefer), pork, rice and beans, arepa, sweet plantains, and eggs(which I usually don’t get so I get extra plantains). The steak can sometimes be a little tough and dry, but still good. The pork is amazing. The sweet plantains are some of the best I’ve had in this area. However, they do run out of them quickly… guess they are a popular item. So if you want them, go early in the day! Staff is also very friendly. If you’re ever in the Norcross area check them out.

Food is good, loved the pink sauce. I had the pechuga de pollo a la plancha. The chicken was a bit dry but still good. The pink sauce added alot of flavor to the meal. But the jugo de leche de mora was really good! My friend ordered it during the meal and by the end we ended up ordering 2 more togo. They ordered the mini bandeja and they loved it!!! We’ll definitely will be going back

Though I visited Patacon the other day for the fist time and thought I had found a real winner, unfortunately I returned for dinner today only to have a greatly contrasting experience. While the service was just as pleasant and the atmosphere unchanged, the same tamale I had been so excited about before came out with extremely dry and stringy meat, stiff corn meal, and somehow even seasoned differently. Further, the Lulo«milkshake» came out half ice. Even when I sent it back my waitress brought it back once again still so icy I couldn’t drink it because the ice almost immediately got stuck in my straw. She herself was so eager to please I didn’t have the heart to send it back a third time. Based on the food today I would only give two stars, but given other experiences and the pleasant service of the wait staff I’ll stick with three for now.

Went here for lunch today and had a great lunch. Had been here once before on a Sunday when they were about to close and wasn’t terribly impressed but glad I gave this place a second try. Had the bistec a caballo, which is thin pieces of sirloin topped with an egg and simple tomato and onion sauce, accompanied by plantains and rice. Meat was well cooked and sauce was full of flavor; plantains were perfect. Portions are large. Will be back

New Management. I’ll never go back. The service was good but the food was not nearly as good as before. Beans had a weird after taste. Rice was crap. The search begins for the best Colombian food in ATL. If anyone has a suggestion please send me a message.

The food was exellent as well as the service … this is the best Colombian restaurant i have visited in the Atlanta area. I love the bandeja paisa and the Guanabana fruit juice … I highly recommend this place! Now they have new owner and his family put the«hogareño» touch to the food.

Estaba Rico. I dig it. Not the Bombdigitty, but I was raised in Colombia and this comes as close to home as you can being away from a coastal city. I usually have the Chorizo and a few empanadas. Yummy but a little greasy.

Last weekend I went with a couple co-workers to Buford Highway Farmer’s Market, but not before having lunch at Patacón Pisa’o. I had never even seen a Colombian restaurant back at Cali, and was glad to be dining amongst Colombians. Asking for a recommendation for a first-timer, they suggested a plate of bandeja paisa, especially since the restaurant style was authentic to that particular region of Colombia. The entrée came with rice, beans, grilled beef, sausage, chicharron(fried pork rinds), fried egg, an avocado slice, arepa, and sweet fried plantains. This was about $ 10.75 if I remember correctly but could easily last 2 meals — it’s a very, very hearty portion. Most other menu items were less than $ 10.00. The rice and beans were solid, grilled beef was very good, sausage was good, chicharron was a bit difficult for me to eat(rind 1, knife 0) but the meat was fine. My first arepa, kind of hard to describe. Somewhat like a corn tortilla, but a softer flavor and thicker, more bread-like. Definitely good stuff! And of course, fried plantains were delicious. The décor is vibrant and full of cultural references. All in all, my first foray into Colombian cuisine was an excellent experience with fantastic company. I’m look forward to trying food beyond the bandeja paisa.
