First time at Sambuka lounge, my friends and I figured trying new place couldn’t be too bad. Walking into sambuka was alright. There was a cover which isn’t very common in hookah lounges but understandable if its up and coming. Cover fee wasn’t bad at all. Then we weren’t greeted in a well manner but looked past it. We were asked if we’de like a lower level area or upstairs area. We chose upstairs. A waitress that wasn’t ours informed us that we must consume alcohol to be in that area which wasn’t a problem but we weren’t told that initially. We then ordered some shots and drinks and two hookahs. Unfortunately the hookahs were not hitting correctly. We told our waitress and she said that she will get the hookah personal. We waited about 30minutes after he came to get the hookahs & about 15 minutes when he came back with them. It was very frustrating as we got there midnight and they closed @3am. My friend had ordered a coke with ice in a cup and then we started to smell something horrid! We didn’t know where the stench was coming from and then discovered it was the cup!!! It smelled like damp clothing that has been sitting on a bathroom floor for hours! It was disgusting! Very gross! She told the waitress and then got a can of coke instead. As most places to avoid any confusion, it’s better if the tab is brought towards the end of the night. However our waitress kept bringing different tabs as if she itemized each thing we ordered. Which is absolutely absurd!!! She then started getting upset because no one had paid the hookah. Excuse me? That’s not the way to go about things. They also serve alcohol to minors like it is no big deal. Which is a very easy way to get shut down. I understand the lounge is new but until further establishment and a level of professionalism is given to customers, I do not see myself returning here.
