Danny’s Hotdogs

I wasn’t sure whether to try this place, but this is now my third time here. It’s a whole in the wall, but it only makes it better! Delicious hot dogs and they use good potato bread buns. The service is friendly and very attentive. Dine in or car hop service both are great. Love the smoothies and onion rings too!

Breakfast is fantastic and inexpensive. And they deliver.
I ordered a sausage and cheese omelet. Delightful. It came with one piece of toast that had been cut into diagonal quarters. There was jam and jelly. And homefries too similar to French fries, but aren’t they like the same, just shaped differently? Which is why I don’t really dig them for breakfast. But this time I did.

Really good! Been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally tried a few days ago with my boyfriend. We drove up and the waitress came out immediately, when I told her we’d never been before so quickly got us menus and told us to honk when we were ready to order. I got the Danny Burger with egg and a side of potato salad. I asked for no tomato but it ended up on my burger anyways. Not too big of a deal, but would have preferred without. The burger was HUGE! Potato salad was really good! Had bits of hard broiled egg in it which I really loved. Boyfriend got the Cheeseburger Sub was was enormous. He really enjoyed it. He also got a side of chili cheese fries, the fries and the cheese were really good, but the chili was odd; sweet tasting, sort of a pumpkin-​y consistency and flavor. A little disappointed considering I’d seen a lot of reviews saying how great the chili was.

Cute little drive-​in with very minimal dine-​in room as it is designed mostly for curve hop. Pull up, beep your horn & dine in your car or sit down inside.
A classic local tradition, their hot dogs are above all others with Danny’s secret chili recipe. I love to add cole slaw to mine. Their cole slaw is the best I’ve had in Hampton Roads. I’m very pick about cole slaw and in general don’t like most I try but Danny’s is top notch!
They have a full menu from breakfast to dinner. Carolina BBQ sandwiches that send me back to my childhood eating in Lexington, NC.

As a kid, my father worked just down the street from here, and when I would go to work with him, we would stop here on the way home. I loved them. In 1991, I moved out of the area, and didn’t go back for more than 10 years, and they were just as good now as they were then. Now, whenever we visit, no matter where we are, we make it a point to stop by at least once. The Dogs, Chili and Burgers are just plain good roadside dive food. The awesome part is that you pull up, honk your horn, and they come out to take your order. It is just good old fashioned delicious fun!

This is one of the best breakfast places that deliver in Norfolk! Yes, it is a hot dog place, but they deliver a hot cooked, southern style breakfast to your place of business. The price is great, the food is fantastic! Now I just need to find out how their hot dogs taste :)
