Dollar Tree

Great Store. Super nice staff that greets you as soon as you walk in, my fav location.

It’s the typical Dollar Tree and there’s a bit of everything in here. It’s what you need in a pinch.
That being said, they had just what I needed.
It was convenient, clean and the price was right … $ 1
It’s ok, they are all ok.

Another business that got booted during the Harris Teeter takeover, Dollar Tree was absent from Wards Corner for over a year. The closest one was off of Tidewater Drive so it’s good to see the Tree back in the Corner.
Location: Situated off Granby Street in a strip mall that features several stores and restaurants. Oh, and a strip club, lol! Eccentric person/​panhandler/​bootlegger alert is above average. Keep your head on a swivel and you should be fine. Parking space is ample although it does get crowded during the weekend.
The Biz: As the unofficial Mayor of Wards Corner, I’m embarrassed that I can’t remember what store was here before Dollar Tree moved in. Shameful! Moot point, however, as the store itself is very nicely done and is TWICE the size of the old store that it replaced! That means more choices in products which means greater chance of purchase. Floors are laid out in a coherent fashion with aisles that are spacious and well lit. There’s a freezer section in the rear of the store that has a very nice array of goods from frozen meats to ice cream.
Staff: Very engaging. As soon as you walk through the door you get hit with a greeting, «Welcome to Dollar Tree!» Because the store is so large and I’m not familiar with the layout I’ve tagged an associate for help locating products several times and haven’t been cursed out yet (channeling Walmart here). Customer service is efficient and responsive.
Final thoughts: In closing, I’m comfortable saying that this is one of the better stores in the area… to date… or, so far. Well stocked, spacious and with an attentive staff your shopping experience at the Dollar Tree in Wards Corner should be a pleasant one.
