Absolutely stellar store. I will be coming back here for lots more stuff, I can tell. All of the furniture is of fantastic quality and they have loads of one-of-a-kind items. The wood is real and isn’t cheaply mass-produced that you would find at somewhere like The Dump. You just can’t find this stuff anywhere else. The customer service is phenomenal, I got very personalized service and even got a call from Trinity who was on her day off, to help me modify my order! Can’t say enough about this place.

Wow this store was amazing I loved almost everything every time I turned the corner I ooh aah. Everything seemed to be Indonesian inspired. And made of solid wood there’s nothing cheap about this store. I will be visiting this store often for inspiration.

I purchased $ 1400 curtains that don’t cover my window. I was told I can’t return the curtains and that it would cost $ 900 to «fix» them. No one offered to have a salesperson come to my house to measure prior to the purchase, and the owner stated it would cost $ 150 to send someone out now(which could be deducted from a $ 2000 order). I am unhappy with my new curtains and wish that the owner would have tried harder to help fix the situation.

In an age where customer service is a thing of the past, I am pleased to write this review for Exotic Home in Norfolk, VA. As an interior designer, I often have to find special, last minute or specific items. When I’m looking for a specific piece or need something yesterday, I always reach out to Trinity, the Norfolk showroom’s manager. She is phenomenal, hardworking, and thorough. She is quick to follow up with emails, photos, and to print spec sheets or identify alternatives.(And even though I can’t always give them the sale, the quality of service is still the same the next time around). I am always grateful for this outstanding level of customer service(specifically from Trinity) and for this reason, I can strongly and highly recommend this retail establishment. Their sales are great, and as a design industry insider, I can assure you this store offers a good price point and quality of product, particularly from the Mitchell Gold and Lee Industries lines.

I saw an upholstered couch in a Homearama home last year in East Beach and found on the website that it came from Exotic Home. I called last week and spoke to Trinity who found the couch, emailed me some specs, and set up a time to show me everything(fabric choices, sizes, leg finishes, etc.) on Saturday. I’ve never been to Exotic Home before — but I loved it! The main show room isn’t exceedingly large, but it is well decorated and filled with beautiful beach-y and a lot of Moroccan inspired pieces. They have loose seashells you can buy to decorate the home, little glass balls to put in a bowl on the table as a centerpiece, and tons of cool little decorative pieces as well as large furintiure pieces. They have a small loft up above the main show room and then a much larger warehouse area that has TONS of stuff… this place is seriously great. It isn’t cheap by any means but you can find some pieces that aren’t outrageously priced that will probably suit your needs. This is a gem. I’ll be frequenting this place for years to come, I can tell.

Hands down, this is my favorite furniture store. I am always able to find that specific unique piece I’m looking for. I found this place 2 years ago, and what a treasure I found! I had been looking for a couple of years prior for the perfect coffee table. My first time here, I walked in and found the most beautiful and unique coffee table from India. The detail on it is exquisite as are many of the furnishings. Well, needless to say, I bought that table and they even let me negotiate a decent amount on the price. Some of my most beautiful decorative pieces have come from Exotic Home. I think many of their decorative pieces, including figures, statues, plants, etc., are pretty reasonably priced. Some of the furniture can get pretty pricey, but I am pretty certain that the $ 1100 I paid for my coffee table was a fair price and it is a piece that will hold it’s value, as will many of the wood furnishings they sell, which come from around the world(India, Asia, Africa and more). When you walk into the Granby store, there are just rooms and rooms to pan through – you will be oohing and ahhing every 10 feet. They have another store at Laskin Road which is nice and open, less cluttered than the Granby location, but I think the Norfolk store has a little more selection. They do custom work, especially for upholstering or interior decorating. The staff has always been friendly when I go, they are inviting and helpful but they will never hunt you down and stalk you like at most furniture stores. Come check out Exotic Home, I am happy to share my little decorating secret with you ;-)
