Greenies Bar & Grill On The Beach

Never wrote a bad review but this place man, it sucks ! Management is awful ! Too bad cause it’s a local place with what could’ve been incredible ocean views. Sorry to post a one star for a mom and pop restaurant but get your place together. Start with a bit of class and customer service skills for your staff and add some care in your food prep and it’ll be better but I wouldn’t step foot in here again. Sorry:/

Huge bar right on the beach. We checked this place out when a popular band was playing. Unfortunately that meant standing room only an non-​existent service. The parking lot is teenie weenie also, so either get here early or park far away and walk. I might have enjoyed this place better on an off night.

Has a dive bar feel definitely, which are the bars I love. First time I came in here, not a smile was found from the staff, and I waited way toooo long with an empty glass before being offered another. However! I always give 2^nd chances and they have definitely redeemed themselves! Very accommodating and the security was very observant (always appreciated).
Right on the beach, so that’s an added benefit!
Low lights if you like that feel. Smoking allowed inside as well. Decent amount of people around, especially compared to a lot of other places around here

I’ve only eaten here once. I got the fried shrimp and it was surprisingly good. I have been here several times for pool and drinks. Ialways have a great time when I come out here.

I don’t know how this review got on here, but I didn’t put it there. I’ve never been to this place.

They allow smoking inside and it smells AWFUL as there is a definite odor of mold/​mildew on stop of the cigarette smoke. My group chose to sit outside on the deck.
The menu is «okay» — pretty much meets low expectations for bar food. We ordered hushpuppies and were told they were out. Our server came back to inform us they had «found a bag»…we still ordered the hushpuppies. I was expecting made from scratch hushpuppies originally and my expectations were met. The rest of the food ordered was okay. Not gourmet, but not bottom of the barrel terrible either. It’s the food you order to soak up the alcohol, not to linger on because it’s delicious.
The place was crowded and our server had problems dealing with everything that was going on — there was a random large bacholerette party stop off at one point. Of course that group ordered drinks and then left which left the service staff swamped trying to bill and get them out. (Totally not blaming the staff here, that’s so on the party people.) At least an hour after that occurred we were ready to leave as our server had not been to our table in awhile and we had wanted more drinks. Our server was nowhere to be found and when she was tracked down about 20 minutes later, she had trouble figuring up what we owed. It took another 15 – 20 minutes to come back with our receipts.
Not the worst experience, but not one any of us are eager to repeat.

Deck has great view! Shrimp by the pound for good price! Wings were terrible. They were undercooked. Service was neglectful at times. Fried pickles were okay. Happy hour specials were typical. Rum and coke was made well! They definitely don’t skip on alcohol.

Ah greenies. Hands down my FAVORITE bar to go to. I’m only giving it 4 stars though because it wouldn’t kill the wait staff to smile a bit more and to be a little more attentive. I love sitting outside on the patio and over looking the water while I’m having a cold one. They have live music on the weekends and I’ve never been disappointed with the music. It ranges from feel good chill music to head bangers to dance music and to sing a long music. Reasonable prices. They make their drinks really strong, to the point where I can only taste alcohol. So if you’re looking to get fucked up real quick then you can’t go wrong with their drinks. Bring your friends because you will have a fun time!

Completely mediocre. Slow service, cold soggy fries, fishy shrimp, frat house bathrooms, fried oysters that tasted like oil, and half the menu was just not available. The view is the only reason for two stars at all. Only go here if you want to drink a bud light and look at the water.

PISS poor service.
I just had enough. I have to yell to get service while they go to everyone else, I’ve had waitresses walk by me when I’m in their area as if I’m not there, and then the bartenders have a smug attitude like they are being bothered so they won’t see another dime from me.

So from my first review last year, I must say I completely change it!!! I love this place!!! The outdoor seating is the best! The best server there is Rachel!!! She will take care of you and make sure your order is correct. She’s very attentive and has a wonderful personality! She is a GEM!!! Seafood is great! You can’t beat $ 9.99 for a pound of shrimp and it’s a lot!!! Now if you are squeamish about cleaning your shrimp after you peel it, this might not be for you. Not sure if they will do it unpeeled. I personally have no problem with pealing and cleaning. What can I say, I’m a seafood chic! People regret! Music is always good. Love the DJ’s and bands they have! Check it out!!!

Good dive place in ocean view, great bar food and awesome people, however the drinks are strong and a bit pricey

Much better service this time around. Went on Mother’s Day. The air was salty and lovely and there was plenty of shine on the sun. Loved it. Service was slow but not due to waitress. It’s a cat fight there. Other waitresses take tables from under each other, take food that doesn’t belong to their table… Etc. If you don’t expect much except good beer, the view and shrimp you’ll be fine.

This is my second time here because I think everything deserves a second chance. The first time I had the crabcakes and was very underwhelmed!!! Drinks were okay — typical bar.
Moving on to this visit. I ordered the steamed shrimp and a baked potato. Baked potato comes out, I add butter… butter sits there without melting. I stick my finger in the potato and it is stone cold. I give it back to the waitress and I guess she nooks it in the microwave. Its still not HOT, in fact it didnt even seem done because it was very hard. How do you mess up a baked potato???
Now on to the shrimp… almost every shrimp I peeled was literally FULL OF SHIT. Obviously they do NOT clean the shrimp… and they were not hot either. This will be my last time at Greenies.

Happy hour everyday 9am-​7pm, can’t beat that. But I give it a 3 for a few reasons, one not being food. However, food isn’t the only thing they offer. They have pool tables which are a very unfortunate $ 1.50 per game. They also have a jukebox to select music which is nice if you plan on being there a long time. They have beer pong tables too if that’s your fancy.
But back to the food. I’ve gotten two different burgers there and both were delicious. Big half pound burgers with good fresh toppings. You have the option for fries or onion rings for a small fee of course (but the onion rings are worth it). The menu is small, your typical bar food.
The worst part of this place happens to be the fact that it is a smoking bar. So youre going to have to deal with sucking in tar and ash from the air throughout your meal. Unless you sit outside of course which is also an option in the summer.

Love GREENIES! The deck is the best place to be on a nice day, the shrimp is amazing and very reasonably priced. They have the best (and longest) Happy Hour in town — 9 am — 7 pm! We have always had great service there, these girls work hard!
Love the clientele — young and old, rich and poor, a good mix with some sailors, motor cycle enthusiasts, black and white, they all get along at GREENIES!
True, the inside is a dive, but so what? If your looking for upscale dining this is NOT for you. If your looking for a fun place to have a few drinks and some pub food you’re in the right place.
Ps: I heard some interesting stories about the décor in the men’s restroom… not for the high brow crowd it seems… lol

Not a bad spot, can’t say it does not have it’s faults, mainly the bathrooms, especially on crowded weekend nights. The difference between the indoor and outdoor portions are literally night and day.
During the summertime the deck portion is the place to be, live music on the weekends and a great view of the ocean. During the winter most people congregate inside. However, the indoor side is completely different. No doubt a strong dive bar vibe consumes the place. On top of that you get a completely different crowd inside as opposed to outside.
Lots of sailors tend to come out as it is very close to base, but if you can handle that it is not a bad place to spend a night out.

I have to say, this place is banking mostly on the view. Their drinks are way to strong, a drink is supposed taste like a drink, if I wanted a drink That strong, would have said on the rocks. Their service falls short and the staff is mostly lazy or just don’t care anymore. However, most locals don’t seem to realize this, so it would explain a lot. While their prices aren’t too bad, their menu needs some updates. Their food was decent. If your looking for a drink with a view and have lots of patience, swing by.

A bit of a dive bar and even in bright sunlight, it was dark inside. I was here at around 11:30 on a Sunday morning, so I had the opportunity to see trays of breakfast foods heading out to the patio deck, which has a nice view of the beach and the harbor areas.
I just sat at the bar with my friend for about an hour, drinking sweet tea.
And when I’d had enough tea, I got to encounter their interesting restroom.
But it does what it says on the tin — it’s a bar and a grill and it’s on the beach.

This review is only for atmosphere & drinks, but from my first experience here this past weekend I will be returning for more.
I really had only heard about Greenie’s for being famous for their after the parade St Pattie’s Day party. I saw a picture that a friend had Instagrammed there on the back deck not too long ago & made a mental note to check it out. My boyfriend & I decided to go somewhere for happy hour during the gorgeous day that we had this past weekend. I wanted to take full advantage of the warmer weather & remembered Greenies.
I started to worry about my choice as I read some of the previous reviews on our way there. I’m happy we had a pleasant experience. The deck was pretty full & you could hear the laughs of people who had been enjoying some day drinking. It felt like a summer day. We grabbed a table & ordered a pitcher of Yuengling. The food smelled really great that was being ordered around us.
I had also read on a previous review that it would be odd if you didn’t meet some fun people & boy were they right. We stayed for about an hour, but had already met some nice folks at the table next to us who even bought us a beer when they left.
Super care free, laid back place. I can see myself more there this summer!
