Greyhound Bus Lines

My thoughts are split on this place.
The customer service sucks. I arrived 30 minutes before my bus departure but there were no signs, signals, or verbal notices as to what bus to board and when boarding actually started. If I hadn’t asked a random stranger I would have missed my bus.
The first bus I was on was surprisingly nice. It was clean, had WiFi and working outlets. The driver was funny, took the bags on and off from underneth the bus, and nice enough to announce before getting to the stop which stop he was approaching.
The second leg of my trip wasn’t the best. The driver only announced once as he was stopping the bus which stop he was at, and it wasn’t clear enough to understand. The bus was clean but had ragged seats and the outlets didn’t work.
This was my first experience with greyhound and if I could pay to make sure all my trips are like the first half I wouldn’t mind taking them more often, but that isn’t possible so I don’t know if I’ll try it again.

Place is dirty. DO NOT CONNECT HERE. I haven’t seen anything like this before. I wish I could give it zero stars. Drivers are terrible. Customer service here has to be some of the worst. It’s like all the local college drop outs and people just released from jail came and applied here for a job.

For my trip down the east coast, I decided to use Greyhound as my main transportation, due to the wonderful mission statement «to make enjoyable travel possible for everyone, providing the opportunity for anyone to travel in North America with safety, dignity and convenience as well as recommendations from others. Unfortunately, in my multiple experiences, I was not able to travel enjoyably and lacked much convenience.
For my experience on the bus from Philadelphia to Washington DC, our trip ran over an hour past the departure time, with longs stops in between. The bus driver was rude, yelling at all the passengers including me and my friends, yet he claimed over the announcements he is «the best driver.» He also made unnecessary extensive announcements making it very difficult to relax. There was also an odor of urine, even while unoccupied.
On our trip from Washington DC to Norfolk, while checking in our baggage, the worker wasn’t considerate of our time, and was not welcoming. She had a negative attitude towards all of us. Also, when we arrived to Richmond, our bus was delayed over an hour, and no apology was made for being late.
Lastly, I have made multiple attempts to contact the general number for Greyhound, which I’ve been going in circles as I continue to get redirected to the virtual customer representative that only tells me to contact the number I just called. I have called every number of the NORFOLK station for multiple days, but I have never received an answer. As of now, I have had no way of contacting Greyhound except through this email in exchanging my ticket to a different time.
Unfortunately from my experience, it had given me a negative view of Greyhound, and through the lack of customer service, I don’t believe I would want to recommend others either.
I have emailed customer services regarding this issue, but they don’t respond either, so unfortunately leaving a negative review is the only way of reaching Greyhound to get a response… If any response at all.

Greyhound is by far one of, if not THE worst transportation business. Times are inaccurate, customer service is nonexistent, and their facilities are poor. Poor communication skills are on full display regardless of your location.
To elaborate, I get on a bus that is to connect to another in Richmond. They moved my bag elsewhere without any mentioning of it. Once I got to my final destination, my bag was left in Richmond. Most businesses where if something goes wrong, the employees do whatever they can to help and satisfy the customer. Not greyhound. The customer service rep simply gave me three numbers and said try them. Didn’t apologize for the inconvenience nor show any interest in helping me retrieve my bag. Then it took 3 hours and 23 minutes before someone answered the phone. When asked why it took so long to answer the phone the lady said, «there’s only one person working the ticket counter, when I have customers, the phone cannot be answered». Are you kidding me? One person working the phone and ticket counter for a WHOLE establishment? Then to add insult to injury, they say my bag is to be in Norfolk at 515 am. It is 6:55 AM and still no sign of the bus. When asked approximately what time will they get here, the best answer I received is «I don’t know». I think it’s about time we get up to date with society and mobile technology. If it is possible to provide wi-​fi on the bus, it should be possible to track the bus.
Very very disappointed with the service.

I mean, it’s a Greyhound bus station. You really can’t expect too much out of it. It looks pretty dated and unsophisticated, but it’s a place to wait for your bus.
I’ve ridden Greyhound a few times now, and I’ve had a couple experiences where the bus was running late. In one instance, the bus I was taking was running so behind that we ended up leaving about two hours after our scheduled departure time.
The bus ride is ok. They have outlets at each seat, so you can charge your devices and keep yourself entertained.
The workers, for the most part, seem disinterested and not very helpful. But they do enough, I guess.
The Greyhound bus station isn’t my favorite place to be, but it gets me where I need to go. So at least that’s a plus.

On May 25^th I took a trip to NYC out bus driver was a complete jerk! At first he started out nice but when we hit Maryland he was yelling at passengers he said those who transfer to NYC get off we want clear on what he said so leaving my ticket on the bottom of the bus I got off retrieved it and got back on as I was getting on he forgot I was a passenger and yelled at my at this time another bus was about to hit me while he was yelling at me, he yelled at passengers waiting to get on for them to raise there hand! He yelled at another man cause the man like me was confused on where to go. I had never been so angry! If you want a job than be nice and do it right don’t be a jerk!!!

You get what you pay for.
The station is pretty dirty and outdated and it might as well be a guarantee that something is wrong with the bus. Currently riding right now and the light in the bathroom doesn’t work (update: wifi doesn’t either). Last time all the electrical outlets on the left side of the bus didnt work and the bathroom door wouldn’t shut. Every 10 seconds the door would slam with a loud BANG. I figured out a way to make it shut finally, but apparently I was the only one on the bus that knew how or cared to do it. Expect to ride with people who have no common courtesy i.e. cracking open a can of smelly tuna/​having a 2 hour long phone convo.
Here’s my one pro:
The price. I only pay $ 35 each way from NYC to Norfolk. Compared to over $ 200 round trip for the train (which takes the same amount of time) it’s a steal. That’s why I ride with them every time. Also, the station is close to my apartment which is a plus. Don’t change the price and I’ll keep riding and ‘putting up with it’

I primarly use Greyhound as my means for transportation when traveling. This station maybe small and slightly dated. However it always extremly clean including the bathrooms. The staff and manager are quite friendly and helpful this includes the the secuirty staff.
