Came here for the first time last night(Tuesday) with a big group. I was very hesitant about the food because of how many bad reviews there are. I waited till this morning to post my review because I wanted to see if I was going to wake up swollen from msg or too much sodium, and I did not! I also did not leave with a stomach ache! They have a lot of choices. I like the way the section it. At one bar, rice, noodles, soup. At another Chinese, another has fried foods, another American, another seafood, etc. Even a hibachi station that seemed popular. Some stuff did not look edible to me but other people enjoyed it so it’s a matter of preference. It is a great place for a large group gathering. The prices are very reasonable for lunch and dinner and they offer military and senior discounts. In the Chinese buffet world, this place is the best, for selection, quality, and price.

We chose this location to eat at after church and it was really quiet when we Walked in. Our host was nice, and our waitress was great. The sweet tea is really sweet per my husband, and the kids all enjoyed their food. I had sushi and a few of the deserts. The food was good, and didn’t taste salty. They had signs up stating«they would refresh the food“if you’d like. We will come again.

The food here was absolutely revolting. I came into the restaurant as hungry as could be and slowly lost my appetite with every bite. Cheap old stale food.

Normally have had no problems with the place. However tonight placed me and my girl on the crapper for the evening. Our waitress only took our drink order then we never saw her again. A different woman took her place and demanded a tip. Both received none. Hibachi was the only good thing there, you can really teach Mexicans anything. Sushi was sub par, the phở noodles were stale and the broth was water with Cinnamon, and the ice bar with clams oysters and muscles is contaminated, some general Taos chicken was like eating rubber while the other was like biting a rock. The muscles on the buffet had several dead before they boiled them and were probably contaminated too. Shrimp is not deveined and cleaned. Boiling it all down the restaurant should close its doors in shame.

I was signing my check and writing the amount for the bill, signed the bottom. The waitress(Anna) had the audacity to ask for a tip, I informed her I was going to give her a cash tip and tip is earned not given. I did not leave a tip because she asked. Other than my waitress asking for a tip, the food was good.

Sweet baby Jesus, it gets saltier every time. Basically inedible. This is awful. Go somewhere else. Chicken prepared 40 different ways, none of them very good. And they have ice cream, which is about the only thing to look forward to, aside from getting the hell out.

Been here a number of times, not the best but definitely not the worse. If you like the Asian and American mixed theme in most Chinese buffets then you’ll probably like this place.

So I was REALLY in the mood for hibachi and I stupidly went here on Veterans Day. Immediately I should have turned around because they have you pick out your raw meat you’d like them to hibachi. Then they dump it onto the grill and after they cook it… They put it back on the plate… So there’s my biggest issue right there. Secondly, the meat to start off with didn’t look great. Raw meat uncovered under heat lamps and though the steak was red in some places it was brown in others… Uncooked. I actually did go through and pick out my food and even took a bite but it was pretty gross. So I immediately was like yeah no. I called over the server and explained I was pretty unhappy and just wanted to pay and leave. He said ok, I paid, and left to go to a real legitimate hibachi grill. Oh I also agree about how there are all these somewhat threatening signs all over the place saying to only take a little food at a time so you won’t be wasteful. And the reminder is fine but the signs are EVERYWHERE

This place has gotten a lot better since I last wrote about it. It’s not worthy of 5 stars yet, but definitely better than it was. The food is much fresher than it used to be… I wonder what’s up…(lol). My mother, daughter and I have gone in several times since the beginning of the summer and once we saw a well dressed group of people touring the restaurant. The owners? Investors? Don’t know. But I think their presence has something to do with the uptick in food quality and freshness. At any rate, the food has gotten much better. Ambiance still so-so, but the food is more important at this point — lol.

As far as buffets go, this place is pretty good. The food rotates often and the sushi is surprisingly good.

I did not like this buffet ATALL. First off I’m not really a buffet going person. We came here for a friend’s get together and I truly wish a different venue was chosen. To be honest the food was just bland. Other items were just not good at all. I went up for seconds ONLY because I was hungry and there was very little to no chance that I would eat later. Plenty of fried foods such as fried wontons, eggrolls, etc. Some other traditional Chinese food as well. Sushi was just not good. Honestly the worst sushi I have ever had. Cleanliness did not appear to be an issue but I honestly wasn’t really looking to hard for that. $ 15 I definitely felt was wasted. Something that also rubbed me the wrong way: What kind of place threatens to charge customers if they waste the food on their plates? Trust me if there was any food thrown away it’s probably because it wasn’t good in the first place… just my humble opinion. Service was so so. Sometimes she refilled our drinks and cleared our table. Then there were other times were a significant amount of time passed and dishes were starting to pile up on our table. Our waitress was friendly though. All in all, next time(if there is a next time), I’ll just come to mingle and save my $ 15.

Just lacking. need to do better with offerings on the buffet and take the time to clean the shrimp! Who wants to eat coconut shrimp or fried shrimp and the«poop» line is still there? Disgusting! The hibachi part is good though.

The food is appealing to the eye but that’s about all I can say nicely about the food. The food is bland and of the lowest quality. The grill staff was not friendly nor was the food fully cooked. This has to be hands down the worst food I have had since moving to Virginia. Please avoid this place at all cost. Thankfully we were able to leave after one dish at half price off the total, though I would rather go vomit up what I ate. The water taste good though per my 5 year old daughter.

For a buffet this place is good. The bathrooms are clean and don’t smell bad. The real thing to go to is the hibachi. Those mexican dudes cook asian hibachi better than asians! Tip them well. They’re hard workers. The food doesn’t give you diarrhea either. Compared to most buffet places around VA the prices are the same. You get what you pay for with this place. Good for after work dinner or when you have the munchies

Review #2 in my hibachi trillogy series. I believe this place is owned by the same people who own the Teppaanyaki Grill in the southern shopping center, because their food is almost exactly the same. Anyways, This was actually the first hibachi grill that I’ve ever been to back when I was a teenager. Just like Teppanyaki when it first opened it was everything, fresh hot tasty food, friendly atentive service, and clean like you wouldn’t believe, but over the years the quality of food, service, and clenliness have declined. My last visit here wasn’t as bad as Teppanyaki though. Everything was just so so. The food was alright and edible, but it all needed extra seasoning(luckily I’m a wiz with salt, pepper, ranch, hot sauce, and ketchup) haha. But I mean it is all you can eat for only $ 7-$ 14 bucks depending on the day/time you go, so I can’t complain too much All in all, this is a good place if you’re looking to feed a lot of hungry people for a resonable price.

There are a number of sushi/Chinese buffet mashups in the area and this one is probably the best option in the area. The Food is the quality you’d expect from a Chinese buffet, the variety is a bit low on the prepared stuff, but they make up for it with their hibachi. Lastly their sushi is actually hand-rolled in view and not back in the kitchen or, as I’ve seen at similar buffets, pulled pre-made out of a box. Again, the sushi is hand made in house in view which is a huge plus. The desert options are also refreshing and their ice cream isn’t the standard Hershey ice cream cups; they have a different brand, ice cream sandwiches and Popsicles for the kids. The restaurant is also well decorated, quiet, and the price is great; about 13/person with drinks. Highly recommended.

I despise buffets… Why? It’s more of the quantity than it is quality and this place is no exception. I came here for a big rehearsal dinner and the reason why they chose the place made sense since there’s a big party room with a perfect spot for dancing complete with a disco ball. Food. Every fried food known to man is essentially on the menu. I tried some fried zucchini, but it had no seasoning and way to greasy to my liking. The teriyaki chicken was very dry so I only took a bit of it. The real winner was the hibachi station. It’s in the back and you can choose and mix any which way you want your plate. I’m a bit creeped out by the meat just chilling there at room temperature. Not sure if that’s me being paranoid or not, but thankfully the bacteria phobe in me knows it was gonna get cooked anyways. So off goes my mixture of food to the people cooking it on the flat top. My food the first time around was perfect and I enjoyed eating it with the unlimited amounts of white sauce I could dip it into. I enjoyed it so much that I filled up my plate again, but that is when things went wrong. First, the guy did not put the sauces I wanted in my food. I wanted garlic and soy sauce and their was pretty much neither on there compared to my last serving. The guys cooking barely understood any English which did not help when I was trying to figure out if my food was ready or not. The worst was finding a jalapeño in my food and I can’t handle spicy food very well. Luckily, I spotted it out to avoid eating a whole one. The saving grace of the place is the ice cream — oh wait, that’s prepackaged. The fruit — because how can you screw up fruit? Service. I already mentioned the cooks. The wait staff was polite and made sure to clear our plates. I was disappointed that I never got a refill on my drink. After a bunch of dancing, I really could have used it. Overall, you’re not gonna see me back here unless there’s another event someone is holding here that I’ve got to go because this place is really all about quantity and not quality.

I just scooped a little roach onto my plate out of the Taipan Chicken. Gross. The only thing SAFEHERE is the habachi towards the back.

«Anger may in time change to gladness; vexation may be succeeded by content. But a kingdom that has once been destroyed can never come again into being; nor can the dead ever be brought back to life.» The Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet occupies sacred ground. Upon this hallowed ground once stood a tall and proud CompUSA, retailer of all things electronic gadget. Software, TV’s, telephones, cameras, computers, and best of all, computer parts! CompUSA made possible my first Cyrix-based 486DX computer by supplying a motherboard and CPU. I probably even walked out with a couple of Meg of RAM as well, maybe even a 170MB hard drive. CompUSA rocked. When Best Buy grew up, it wanted to be CompUSA. Then one day, like a bitter and brisk wind, it was gone. The sign on the door said closed. And anger set it. As a Phoenix rising from the CompUSA ashes sprung forth the Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet. Would this turn the anger to gladness, the vexation to content and thus fulfill the screed of Sun Tzu? Well, that depends. To put all of this into the perspective of this review, you need to understand that I’m really about 98% Asian. The only non-Asian part of me is the part that is visible to the world. In short, an egg. To this egg, there is nothing remarkable nor unremarkable about HG&SB. It simply is. If you are hungry when you enter, you will not leave that way. If you want to sample a wide variety of flavors of the East, well, you can do that too, but it all seems to be the Westernized version of the Flavors of the East. Do I eat the Gen Tso when I come here? Yes, of course! Is it life changing? No, of course not! In short, this place is quantity, not quality. But don’t mistake what I’m saying here, I’m not implying that the quality is missing, indeed it is certainly adequate. But quality isn’t the star of this show, it is the depth of selection that matters here. That alone makes HB&SB the very embodiment of, ‘when in doubt, eat AZN.‘ Alas, it seems to make the second half of Sun Tzu ring more true. Indeed, a kingdom destroyed(CompUSA) can never come again into being. But then again, Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet isn’t trying to schlep motherboards now, are they… What we are really dealing with here is a 3 star Asian buffet and I was all set to do just that… but…while finishing the last bites of those cream puffs one finds at EVERY Asian buffet, out of the ether comes the unmistakeable sounds of Bruno Mars and ‘When I Was Your Man.’ That alone bumps up the star count, and in the math that is Unilocal Star ratings, 3.5 rounds up to 4. So yay, I’m a fan!
