Janaf has been around forever and that’s probably why it’s called a shopping center as opposed to what it really is: a strip mall. Albeit a very large strip mall, Janaf’s store selections and structure just can’t escape the branding of strip mall. Most of the Janaf shops are on the very inexpensive end of the retail chain. Discount clothing stores dominate the shopping center and are supplemented by a Dollar Tree, Payless Shoes and other low price shopping options. Given this selection, you can’t expect much in the realm of décor and ambience, but for marketing to its niche, Janaf delivers.
I like to shop at Janaf, though. Sometimes when I want to go out for the night, want to wear something new and sexy but only want to spend a few bucks, I’ll swing by Janaf. I can always find something cheap, eye-​catching and distinctly urban (as compared to Virginia Beach’s more preppy options) at Janaf.
