DONOTSUBJECTYOURSELFTOTHISPLACE. The Worst… Staff, cleanliness, facilities, location, parking, worse than imaginable. In six weeks, the already stagnant Wi-Fi has lost connection to the WAN at least once a week, a few times twice a week. The dismissive zero-star staff remarks they are working on it(making a career out of it)… As it stays down each time for 24 – 48 hours. Half of stay, no Wi-Fi, customer service(if you stretch to call it that) sometimes hanging up the phone on you if they answer at all. They should just not even offer the Wi-Fi, as they obviously do not have the competence to keep it up or when disconnected, reconnect it. They should also discontinue offering water in any of the rooms, as for entire stay, there has been no hot water in my room. The dismissive snakes at the front desk, lied and told me these failures did not occur often, when I asked on the second day of my stay. When the hot water was supposedly«fixed», it was scolding hot on the coolest setting, although you wouldn’t notice due to the absence of anything resembling water pressure. If these two weren’t enough, the a/c seems to only modify the temperature by two degrees of the outside temp. I had to purchase a heater or face amputation of frost bitten limbs. This parking… You might as well crash park your car in the main front desk, because you will spend far more time looking for a spot, than you would just walking to your destination. Each door in the hotel needs a new closure unit, and are all future lawsuits that would sever a 4×4 cleaner than a table saw, and more quietly, although I do love hearing the wind slam heavy doors throughout the day and night. The only good thing about this motel, is the postal-effect that it and its staff will undoubtedly cause on a future guest, and the ultimate demise of the navy gateway in Norfolk.

Still love this place. The bed is the most comfy thing ever. Clean, crisp sheets and down comforter. Pillows are nice and fluffy. Keurig, small fridge and microwave. Tv. We were given the handicap room this time, and the room is significantly smaller. Still nice, but would have rather gotten a larger room with smaller bathroom. The bathroom is much MUCH larger than any of the other ones we have had while staying in the the suites or regular rooms here. No complaints. Great place to stay for the price.

I stayed here for two weeks with my husband and the bed was the most comfortable bed I’ve stayed in while traveling. The down pillows and down comforter are so soft you don’t want to get out, the beds always feels crispy clean when you get in them. The room was split into two sections, the bedroom area and a living room space that has a coffee table, sofa, chair, table, tv and fridge. The sleeping area had the of course the bed, side table dresser, desk and tv. Each room comes with a one cup keurig coffee maker which is nice, if you run out of coffee they replenish it every morning or you can go to the front and get more. The rooms are far from new looking but they are very clean and very comfortable.

I made reservations to stay here based on the other Navy Gateway Inn and Suites I have seen. Not only did it take us 2 hours to actually locate this NGIS, but when we arrived, I knew there was no way I was staying in that hotel. The place held an aura of creepiness. I mean like The Shining, Overlook Hotel creepy. This NGIS is located in an historic looking building, with the inside smelling of mold and looking like it hasn’t been remodeled since the 70’s. And with a payment required in full up front, I was quickly on the phone with the Navy Lodge to see if there was a room available for the duration of my stay. Totally worth the $ 20.00 extra a night!
