Love this salon and their family friendly atmosphere. Everyone is very caring and friendly. They really make you feel like family. Have had all of the services that they offer done and have had a very nice experience each and every time I go in. The owner Sue has been doing my hair since I was in college and love the way she colors and cuts my curls. Lisa is always great with my pedicures and brow waxing. Everyone in the salon is very kind and family friendly and I truly enjoy driving down from Richmond every 6 weeks to see everyone.

Amber was extremely professional and friendly! My Shellac manicure looks amazing… she even took the time to help me choose an appropriate nude color for my skin color! The gentleman at the front desk had EXCELLENT customer service and made you feel welcome from the moment I called on the phone. I will definitely be back! Kudos!

I LOVE this salon. Convenient, super easy to get in, reasonable pricing (especially for the area).
I was a bit hesitant to try this place out due to the location and the fact that it was new to me, but I’m SO glad I did. I tried a few other salons in the area, and was disgusted with how expensive they were.
Studio East is upscale, Charles at the front desk is incredibly polite and helpful, all of the stylist are friendly and personable (unlike the «fake» atmosphere in many other salons of this scale) and the place is always squeaky clean.
I have very long, thick hair that can be super tricky to color, so I see Dana and she has never once failed to please.
If I had to recommend a salon to anyone, it would be this one– no hesitations, based on quality, experience, and cost.

I got a Brazilian wax done and she burned my skin with the wax. I have scabs now… not attractive.

ive only ever had my hair cut here. I have very long hair and i dont cut it much. Im very picky when it comes to picking someone to cut my hair because they might be very talented but if they dont listen to what i want its useless. However, i came here for a haircut with Kelsey and i loved it! Most importantly, she listened to EXACTLY what i wanted and only cut off exactly what i asked her to, 2 inches. she wasnt overly pushy about selling me products. she showed them to me, and left it at that. i would reccommend her to anyone!

This place did not do it for me. The massage I had was tremendously disappointing. It felt like the woman massaging me did not know anything about massage therapy. Although I had requested a deep tissue massage, what I felt I actually got was someone applying lotion on my whole body. For some reason she kept running hot stones on my back even though I did not request a hot stone massage. My brow wax was okay. A day later I realized my brows do not look symmetrical — one is fuller than the other. After reading the reviews I had such a good feeling about this place. Not so much now that I have had a massage and brow wax.

It’s a great place, friendly staff and easy to schedule an appointment. They are knowledgeable and offer a large supply of beauty products.

By far the best salon in Hampton Roads. It’s the salon I go to for my «Me» time but now I take my children there because they are so attentive. They go above and beyond every time especially with the kids. They add cute little braids in my daughters hair for fun and add cool color chalk in my sons hair. My kids 3&4 hated getting hair cuts until now. ;)

I live close by to this salon and after going to another salon in the area and not being fully satisfied I decided to make an appointment here for a cut to see if I felt a little bit more «at home» here. My first appointment here was with Morgan for a cut, as soon as I sat down I could tell that I was going to enjoy this place and stylist a lot more than I had at the previous place. I ended up scheduling another appointment for like, the next week for highlighting and I was definitely not disappointed. Morgan is terrific with people, and is helping me achieve the results I’ve been wanting with my stubborn hair. Their prices here aren’t bad at all (considering you’re paying for quality hair care), the entire staff is always helpful and cheery, and they offer a military discount which is great! I will definitely continue to come here and am also going to be looking into their other services offered besides hair!

From the moment you walk in the door, you can see that customer service is a huge priority at Studio East. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, remember your name and offer drinks while you wait. I have been in too many hair salons where the stylists are critical of customers and each other. This is not the case at Studio East. The staff are very positive and complimentary, and really act like a team.
My stylist did an excellent job of interpreting my concerns about my hair and giving me a cut that I loved. FYI, they will trim your bangs for free if you are an existing customer.
Their services are pricey, particularly for someone who has used retail-​type salons frequently in the past. Fortunately, their prices are posted on their website so you will not need to be surprised. They also offer discounts for students, and for referring others to the salon. I knew approximately how much I would pay beforehand, and I still was extremely impressed with their store environment and services. I will definitely continue getting my hair cut at Studio East. I do not mind paying for great customer service, cheerful staff and a comfortable experience.

I am a fan! I have been to many salons here in Norfolk and hated every single one that I have been too! Until I came to Salon East. Every time I have been in, they have been super friendly and could get me in on such short notice. This salon has everything! One Stop Shop!
Ya they are a bit pricey but when it comes to beauty I am willing to spend the dough!

Nice clean salon. I came in on a whim for a haircut, hoping to fix a bad cut I’d gotten recently. Kim, my stylist, was sweet and attentive, listened to what I wanted and did a pretty good job of disaster management with the haircut. The atmosphere was great, relaxed and friendly.
The down side is, I’m kind of cheap and they’re a bit on the pricier side (not for around here, I guess, I was just raised on $ 5 haircuts). Their prices are just high enough where I’m debating going back, even though I had such a great experience there.

I’d just moved to the neighborhood, saw a flyer for this salon in the local coffee shop, and have been wanting to try it out. Today I had an extra hour on my hands and needed my eyebrows and upper lip waxed, and they were really good about accommodating a last minute appointment. The salon looked clean and tidy. However, the woman who did my eyebrows wasn’t very friendly and didn’t read the tasking slip — thought she was going to cut my hair and didn’t wax my upper lip, although they were going to charge me for it. I’ll ask around for specific names before going back.

I had a Brazilian bikini wax at this location after searching for a location for months, after moving here, and it compared very favourably with other salons I’ve experienced in other cities like Atlanta.
The price was a couple dollars more than another location (they said they were $ 50+, so could have been 65 or more too) at $ 65, but for the thorough and neat job she did, it was worth it.
I felt welcome there, and they were on time, and it was clean and friendly in the salon. I’ll definitely go back there. They have a referral program too, so if you go you could use my name, Marina M. :-)
Didn’t have so much of the ‘image’ many salons try to have, just up front and well kept. A good experience in all. Very glad I found them through Unilocal.They accept Visa cards.
