Staff is very friendly and very wise. The shop has a good record selection especially for the size of the shop, but very little selection of record players. Great place to wander into and grab some good tunes and any equipment that your looking at upgrading at a good price, but not the best place to start your record listening experience if your looking to for a large selection in record players.

Been coming here for years for variety of things. Record selection is never limited. Staff is always great, whether in the music department downstairs or the movie department upstairs.

I love this record store. The owner is always friendly, willing to help, and a valuable asset to Norfolk. There are some some snobby record sellers around here and to be honest, sometimes I just wanna buy a record and not get scalded by the Soup guy from Seinfeld for asking for«uncool» music. This is a place for music lovers from all walks of life. Best of Norfolk, full stop.

The owner Paul is great historian of vinyl music who’s willing to spread his wealth to his dedicated customers and downtown browsers. Turns out his dad opened«The Grove» in downtown Norfolk circa 1949. It was as first record shop this side of the Hampton Roads bridge tunnel. Overall: This was an excellent little shop for vinyl and solid sounding record machines and their speaker components. Since selection is dependent on hit and miss of rotating stock based on vinyl enthusiasts I’m giving the Grove 4 Stars but will be coming back with a coffee for Paul in hand for another great conversation while taking in the vintage sounds before buying my next listening treat.
