The Skinny Dip Frozen Yogurt Bar

Great experience here! Went on a Monday afternoon and the staff person on duty was very friendly. She was busy cleaning counters, but made sure to be at the register by the time we were ready to pay.
I had cake batter gelato and vegan soy cotton candy fro yo. Both were absolutely delicious! They also have fresh whipped cream whipped cream, which is awesome, and a huge variety of toppings — from cereal to fruit and everything in between. Love Skinny Dip!

I’m giving this place such a poor review because of the customer service. It was absolutely awful. When we first walked in there was no one up front. Then after being there for a few minutes a girl came out of the backroom on her cell phone and didn’t acknowledge us, and went back to the backroom. Then we waited 5 minutes at the register for her to come back out. When she finally came back she was still talking on her cell phone, while she rang us up.
On a another note the yogurt is very good! I love all the toppings they have to offer.

This place is not that good. I would recommend going somewhere else. The fruit does not look fresh at all. And the toppings don’t look too good either. I would recommend going elsewhere. Only reason this place gets two stars is because of the cashier there. He was really great with his customer service.

Excellent selection of toppings… Way better selection than that «sugary amphibian». The only area that could use improvement is the low-​sugar yogurt options. Each of our last two visits, there was only one low-​sugar flavor in there machines, and both times it was empty.

Love that there are always two vegan options — a frozen yogurt (all sorts of alternating flavors, my favorite so far being pumpkin pie) and a sorbet (the key lime is amazing). Also a variety of fruity toppings, pretzels, nuts, and peanut butter. Check out the little freezer for surprise-​flavored tubs (and sometimes vegan ice cream sandwiches!). Staff is always very friendly.

Every time we’re even near Ghent, my family of six always stops at Skinny Dip. Great yogurt, great customer service, always clean! We like it so much that we’ve never even tried any of the other yogurt places around. I highly recommend Skinny Dip. :)

Skinny dip is a local chain of frozen yogurt shops. They’re froyo tastes better than 90% of shops I have been to all over the area and in different states. There’s something for everyone in taste variety, diets and topping preferences. It’s definitely a main stop for froyo in our family.

Skinny Dipping at night, what’s not to love. No, not THAT kind of skinny dip. This is the one that’s all about the froyo. Nice selection of eight or so yogurts, a wide variety of wet toppings and my favorite method of dry toppings, hand crank dispensers so that you don’t have the rugrats sticking their hangs in your peanuts and slivered almonds. Yay!

We came in right before closing time Sunday night, but the staff was still welcoming and friendly, They had run out of peanut butter yogurt & Reese’s for the night, but I’m not faulting them there (it was literally 10 – 15 minutes before close up). Other toppings seemed fresh and there was a decent selection.
I thought their yogurt was creamier and thicker than Sweet Frog (I went with Vanilla & Cookies n’ Cream), but the topping selection was slightly better at SF. I do like the location of The Skinny Dip better, and overall, enjoyed it more than other places in town.
Also, extra points for having tasting cups available with the other cups, rather than having to ask for them like other places.

Love this frozen yogurt place! We frequent at least once a month and usually try to bring family along. It’s clean, the frozen yogurt and toppings are awesome. There is always great music playing. We are greeted every time we walk through the door. I wish they had more than one high chair though, it’s hard to keep my son from putting his hands in MY bowl if he’s sitting in my lap!

I am a lifelong supporter of Skinny Dip.
The yogurt, owners and staff are all great. There are plenty of toppings and the yogurt flavors are forever changing.
They are dog friendly too which is always a plus!

I’m going to keep this short, sweet, and the point…
Skinny Dip is just like Yogurtland in California. Actually… it’s EXACTLY like Yogurtland. They had nice options, plenty of toppings, and a clean dining area. Not much else needs to be said, and you don’t need anymore said about it. I’m sure you all get the point.

Skinny Dip is a great place to grab a cool treat on a hot day. Or a freaking cold day. Any day.
The setup is the same as every other froyo place: walk in, grab a bowl, fill with yogurt, add toppings, pay by weight.
Skinny Dip has an AMAZING selection of toppings. I always forget about the «dry goods» (cereal, chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs, etc.) along the wall and instead tend to focus on the salad bar of deliciousness in the center of the room.
They generally have 1 or 2 vegan offerings and several other delicious flavors.
I think our household favorite is the Brownie Cheesecake. Can’t go wrong with that topped with brownie chunks and cookie dough. Gah!
If you don’t have a Belly account, get one if you’re going to be a frequent visitor to Skinny Dip. Earning points towards freebies is always awesome.

While I am aware that other people are ‘qualified’ to review froyo places, I believe being 41 weeks pregnant makes my opinion on all things dessert significantly more valid. So take it from preggers here, this place is great!
It’s clean, friendly, delicious and not insanely expensive. They have a ton of great flavors, but I think the toppings is where they shine. You can go healthy or not, either way the selection is vast and fresh. The Oreo pieces are always crunchy, the strawberries and mangoes always juicy and the brownies always chewy.
It’s clear that they take a lot of pride in putting out a good product and I appreciate that!

You know when you walk into a location and all the people behind the counter recognize you, you’re a regular. My husband and I are DEFINITELY regulars here. We come in at least once a week, usually more frequently than that (think, hm, 2 – 3 times per weekend during the summer!)
The quality of the self-​serve frozen yogurt here is the best I have had anywhere. My stomach can’t handle ice cream, so the frozen confection experiences I have had are limited to frozen yogurt, and over the past few years there have been leaps and bounds of improvement in quality, and this is the best I have seen so far.
The eclectic flavors and the extensive toppings bar are the main pulls for me to classify this as the best I have ever had. Most other frozen yogurt bars in the same genre as Skinny Dip have a more limited selection, and until I expereinced this place, I didn’t think anything of it. With the wall of candy options and the cold bar with fresh fruit and other crushed, chopped and otherwise bit-​sized treats, it is hard to decide what to pair with the unique flavors of frozen yogurt available from the 10 different self-​serve dispensers.
I love this place. Hands down, one of my favorite parts about living in Ghent.

Added bonus, not only do they have dog friendly seating outside, as you check out there is a freezer of plain, sugar free vanilla yogurt in convenient cups with a few bits of what looks to be moist and meaty dog food sprinkled in the middle. So the whole family gets in on froyo!

One of the best i have ever visited!
The flavors are varied from low fat, to non-​fat, to sugar-​free, to VEGAN! Yes people… i said VEGAN!
Sample cups galore means you are not limited to one or two samples per visit, you can grab as many sample cups as you wish and try every flavor your heart desires.
There are tons of add-​on goodies, like fresh fruit and chocolate, and containers with the imaginable toppings and the unimaginable ones as well.
The guy behind the counter welcomes you with a smile and thanks you for coming. I felt like i was at the Disneyland of Froyo! The Chuckie Cheese for grown up guiltless bliss!
It is a little pricey per oz, but totally worth it!
If i lived in Virginia beach i would be a regular.
My flight doesn’t leave tomorrow till 2pm so i plan on stopping by for another cup of frozen happiness!
