Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Something has happened to this place, and I’m not sure what. Maybe it’s under new management or the employees aren’t as well trained. I don’t know.
If you go in and the place is fairly empty, customer-​wise, there shouldn’t be a 10-​minute wait on a simple smoothie, or a 20-​minute delay waiting for food. I shouldn’t have to go out to feed the parking meter, is what I’m saying.
On another, more annoyed and annoying note. Tropical Smoothie recently added a vegetarian «meat» called «Beyond Meat» to their menu. You can sub this veg chicken in to any menu item with chicken in it. So I did just that with a Buffalo Chicken wrap, making sure I emphasized the fact that I wanted the Beyond Meat. I’m glad I checked the wrap *after* I got home, because it most certainly was NOT the veg product. This was extremely disappointing and upsetting.

This place is close to work, so we have stopped in here a couple of times for lunch. Each time, the experience has been pretty good. The first thing you see on the sign outside is that they do not serve fries. Being a fry guy, that isn’t necessarily a good thing! Actually, it is. The nice thing about this place is you can eat a healthy meal that is also tasty. The kids always get a smoothie as part of the kids meal and they appear to like them. I haven’t had one yet but they do look good. I cannot honestly recall exactly what I have ordered each time but it has been tasty and the service efficient. So, check it out if you want to avoid fries, and let’s face it, we all probably should.
