Ching’s is always my go-to when I want classic takeout Chinese in Normal — try ordering it for lunch, their lunch deal is an insane bargain! All the standards are here — beef chop suey, general’s chicken, crab rangoon. The kung pao chicken stands out as great, with the right amount of spice and nuts in it. You can see can see back into the kitchen, and I saw two chefs working on disk-sled sized woks. Man! That’s got to be the hardest job on earth. Kudos to the chefs at Ching’s for doing a great job: D

Live close to here so we order all the time. Good food, good portions and decent prices. The crab Rangoon is the best in town.

Best Chinese in the area. I order the General Tso’s all the time. Their dumplings are amazing, and the delivery is pretty fast.

My egg roll was only half cooked, the rice tasted dry and old, and the chicken was far less than what I’ve come to expect from Chinese restaurants. This was a huge waste of time and money. Lastly, my «crab rangoon» was indeed a cream cheese rangoon. Lame. There is a reason the parking lot was completely empty.

I quite literally downloded the app and made an account just to write this review. This might actually be the best Chinese food restaurant I’ve been to since I moved here. The food is bloody well perfect, chances are its not authentic but most aren’t hahah. The food itself was beyond amazing, it was tender and delicious and I was half tempted to order again after I finished my food. 9⁄10 I would recommend it, its perfect food but they take their time to deliver it. Only compalint, it took them over an hour to get it to my place, and I live pretty close to them. But if you are willing to wait a bit, the food is amazing and we’ll worth the wait.

Some of the best Chinese food around town and not too pricey. We ordered, and they said 10 mins and it really was 10 mins. Hard place to find at night because the sign is not lit up, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of food and service. Hard to understand on the phone. Again, food was very good and got it in a good time. Sweet and sour chicken, beef and broccoli, and potstickers are very good!

Nothing special about this Chinese place. Food was very bland. Wasn’t awful but wasn’t great. Delivery was 20 minutes late, good price for the amount of food. I probably won’t get it again, I recommend looking at other places.

Don’t let the vacant parking lot fool you, it’s just an empty strip center, the food was really good; on a quick Chinese food place scale it’s a 5 out of 5. Every item was made to order, very fresh. Hot and sour soup is REALLY spicy.

Excellent Chinese takeout! Chings’ food is fresh, not too salty and they don’t skimp on the quantity. Lunch was incredible: a main course, pork fried rice, egg roll, a crab Rangoon and some fried noodles… all for a ridiculous $ 5.55! I grew up eating Chinese food in the NYC area, and this comes very close in flavor and quality. If you order a combo meal in any other Chinese restaurant in town, the fried rice is some flavorless brown concoction with a few carrots and peas thrown in. The fried rice at Chings is the real deal and it will leave you craving for more. The young lady that manages the place is very friendly and helpful which adds to the pleasant experience. Note: while there a few tables at the restaurant, you will want to takeout or have the food delivered. I don’t think they have air conditioning.

Finally decided to try out Chinese food in Bloomington-Normal and I went with low expectations and hesitation. The food was better than I had expected since I grew up in Chicago and on Chinese food. It certainly isn’t the best but it’s decent! Not too salty but still good flavor. If I’m really dying to eat Chinese cuisine in the area I would consider coming back again. The décor is sketchy and the service is not welcoming but hey I think that’s why they specialize in take out. I decided to dine in but it wasn’t dreadful :)

Had orange chicken with fried rice. I also had a side of crab ragoons and they were amazing. First time getting ordering and it was delicious in comparison to other ones I’ve had in the blono area.

After much consideration and my meal tonight, I have increased my review by two stars. Their food is the best in town in comparison to other Chinese. It’s fresh and quality. I also don’t feel like death after I eat here. Keep it up!

Chings never disappoints me or those I’ve shared a meal with! Their food is fresh, and delicious! Their portions are large enough for leftovers and easy to share. They are a quick and friendly service and always have gotten our order correct. They also have good prices and combo meals that will fill you up. Chings is my go to Chinese take out place in town.

The owners are super cool, the food is scrumptalicious, and it won’t destroy your bank account.

Back in Chicago I would go to the same Chinese restaurant for years. Chings may not be that exact place, but it’s the closest I’ve gotten to it. The people who work there are really friendly always asking me how I am doing which helps bring me back multiple times in a month.

Delivery time was extremely long(it took three hours). Very disappointed in the customer service-we called and received no answers. Will not be ordering from them again.

Ching’s is my favorite place to get Chinese in the area. The portions are very big and the lunch deal is a great deal. I normally get General’s or Sweet and Sour Chicken and I haven’t been disappointed. The only problem is that it sometimes takes them 20 minutes to deliver, sometimes an hour and 20 minutes. You never really know.

Chinese food is a crapshoot in Bloomington-Normal. I was a huge fan of Bing’s Wok until a few years ago when they switched ownership. Things just weren’t the same. Then Ching’s opened up. It’s right down the street from me, and I ignored it for a long time until I finally gave in to the urging of my friends. You know how 90% of Chinese take-out places use that spongey chicken and beef that you can tell is real meat, but only in the loosest sense of the words«real» and«meat?» Ching’s isn’t like that. When I order a chicken dish, I can see the cook scoop a big ladleful of pre-prepped real chicken and throw it in the wok. It’s not the highest quality meat, but at least it’s real and exhibits the consistency of chicken. There are some things that are frozen, like the egg rolls and crab rangoons. The breaded chicken seems to be frozen chicken bits as well. But find me a Chinese restaurant anywhere that will make you general tso’s from scratch in two minutes. Not possible. I mean, come on… if you want high-quality food, why are you ordering Chinese take-out? Nevertheless, everything is cooked to order, including egg rolls and crab rangoon. Nothing is scooped out of a buffet line and put in a plastic clamshell for you. In general, their food is very good. The reason for the three stars is that their service is less than perfect. I usually call in my pickup orders and arrive at the specified time(10 minutes) to get my food. Each time I have done this, they haven’t had my food ready. Scratch that, they hadn’t even started cooking my food. They looked confused and then pointed to a slip of paper and it appeared that they forgot about my order. Every time I’ve ordered. Also, the sauce on the szechuan chicken was extremely disappointing. Ching’s is the best take-out Chinese in Bloomington-Normal, which isn’t saying much. But it’s better than just about anywhere else. There are only a few bad choices on the menu, but if you know to avoid them you’ll find it quite enjoyable.

In terms of take-out Chinese food in the Normal area, this is by far the best place to go. Prices are cheap & the portions are HUGE. I think the quality is also a little better than the other take-out places. My boyfriend and I will split one entrée and and appetizer and it comes out to around $ 10. We always have leftovers. The crab rangoon is delicious and has adequate filling. I’ve tried crab rangoon at several places in Bloomington-Normal and this place surprisingly has the best in my opinion. The general tso’s chicken, and the moo shu chicken/beef are good as well. They offer free delivery and are always really quick.
