Gah… so bad. I’m not sure if anyone actually goes here, but I thought it was a good idea to get my tongue pierced here. The shop was OK — a bit small and cramped, but definitely not dirty or gross. There was just one guy working, so that should have been a tip off that the place didn’t get much business and was therefore probably not going to do the best quality work. The prep was sanitary and the guy explained some stuff about piercings to me. However, as I found out later, he didn’t explain enough to me about actual tongue piercings so I was very unprepared to take care of the piercing afterward. He pierced my tongue with a 14 gauge 5/8″ ring. My tongue needs a 1″ ring anyway, so a 5/8″ is obviously too small, especially with swelling. Little did I know! He also placed this weird plastic thing on top after to make it «look cool» and it turns out all of that porous plastic made my tongue infected. Yay! So I had a crazy infection and I had to go get my tongue stretched to a 12 gauge because the 14 gauge ring was pulling and stretching the piercing — ouch! It was about 3 weeks of pain for a stupid tongue piercing. All of my other friends were done with their pain in about a week — I couldn’t believe I had felt that bad for so long. Thankfully, the piercer that we knew in Downers Grove fixed everything up for me, but it was really ridiculous and painful. I would absolutely never go here again, nor would I recommend the place to anyone. The lone staff member is very unprofessional and — in hindsight — did not seem to know what he was doing.
