The Tulip Tree

Received a gift certificate for my son’s birth and I was really excited to use it, as I’ve seen the store for years but not having children never shopped there. My husband and I went in about a month ago and it took an act of congress to be acknowledged. Once the woman at the counter decided she had time to speak with me, I asked about a specific item I was looking for. She told me they did not have it but to call and the manager may be able to help me. Fast forward to today. I went in looking for another specific item. One employee was helping another customer and the other employee was having a casual conversation with the same customer. During this time I stood at the side of the counter where it literally took 7 minutes to ask if I needed help. I asked about the item we were in search of and the rudest of the two indicated they do not carry it and would not order it because they will no longer be carrying that brand. Then turned away and started taking with the other employee. Because we have this gift certificate and I knew after the two experiences I would NOT step foot in the door again so, my husband and I searched for anything to get rid of the certificate. About 20 minutes into looking the «rude one» came over to basically ask if we needed anything with an attitude of «when are you getting out of our store?» We grabbed three items and called it a day.
Having said all that, I will NEVER purchase another thing there nor will I encourage my friends to. If you want a good baby boutique, that carries the same brands or better/​high end, go to Storkland in OKC or there is a fabulous new baby boutique in Moore called Gigi’s.

I was looking for a specific baby outfit and couldn’t find it anywhere so I called the manufacturer! I am in California and was referred to a few places and none of them were local. So I called The Tulip Tree :) She had the item I was looking for, on sale even, and sent it out to me. I had it in a couple days! I appreciate the willingness to help and the great customer service. It’s sometimes hard to find that in a big city.

This is a beautiful shop near Campus Corner in Norman. Next door is their children’s store, Tiny Tulips.
Tulip Tree has a great assortment of bedding, tableware, décor, and unique knick knacks that you won’t find elsewhere. Their visual merchandiser (if they have one?) is fantastic… the displays are always engaging.
In a renovated home, this two-​story store feels like you’ve walked into a peaceful vacation home.
