Wild Hare is one of my favorite places in Norman. They have done a great job making it their own and have the best beads and trinkets around at an extremely reasonable price. I love that there is always something new and all kinds of odds and ends set out for you to use your imagination and either add to a piece you are making or use it purely as a charm you can string on a nice chain. For instance, I bought a real antique key there that I wear and get compliments on all the time. I love it! When they did a jewelry class, I attended and it was pretty inexpensive and helpful. I don’t know if they started classes back up again or what the schedule was like, but I hope that they do get back to that eventually. They started selling some vintage clothes on a rack in the back and I always find something good. The jewelry pieces that they make are always very eclectic and ethereal — they’re unlike anything else you will find around here. A lot of it probably has to do with the fact that they have connections in New York City that they work with regularly. Wild Hare is a unique shop where you can find your most basic or funky beads, string, chains & baubles. Always a treat and highly recommended!

If you enjoy making jewelry, this is the place to go. They carry unique beads and stones you will not find at any Michael’s or Hobby Lobby, their prices are very reasonable, and the people who work here are always helpful and friendly. Even if you’re not a jewelry maker, they sell some cute items that are not expensive at all. It’s a fun place on Campus Corner worth checking out.

The Beadery is a cute little bead shop on Campus Corner. I’ve been going there for years, and always make a point to visit the shop when I’m back in town from Boulder! They have handmade jewelry for sale(that I believe they make in-shop) and also sell beads, string, and everything else you’d need to make your own jewelry(either at home or in the shop, they have tables and beading trays in the store!) They even made some really pretty necklaces for my bridesmaids to wear in the wedding when I got married. Everyone was pleased with them, and it was way less expensive than purchasing pre-made necklaces from big box stores(and so much cooler!)
