The atmosphere is Sports Bar, tvs are abundant, large, and loud. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was piping hot. We ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. The steak was perfectly tender, breading was melt in your mouth and not heavy handed. The mashed potatoes were redskin, mashed with all the loaded tater goodness. Seasoning overall was very heavy on the pepper, so if you are sensitive to spice have the gravy on the side or you might try a different side. My brother in law kept the server busy refilling the tea to cool his tender tongue, while I asked for more gravy since I felt the gravy was great, but the portion on the steak itself was skimpy.

Mother’s Day — Sunday, May 8, 2016 Disregard earlier reviews before, «Toby’s American Grill,» was re-branded! If all the servers are as good as Cody you will receive exceptional service. From standard menu items to off menu items he took care of every member in our party of eight. The back of the house, «kitchen,» supported Cody well and cooked the catfish, burgers, etc., just as ordered by our guest. We shared our comments with Jarrad the shift manager and let him know their hard work in staff training and menu improvements is a success. We’ll go back!

The SO and I received coupons in the mail for the«revamped» Ice House and decided to give it a try. Parking is a bit difficult(weird layout) but we were seated almost immediately. The sweet tea is the best. And being from the south, I feel like that says something. The menu is limited but I expected as much, being this is a newly revamped restaurant. Ordered the loaded fries for an appetizer. Good, could’ve used more bacon, but they weren’t the worst we’d ever had. The cheese is actually their queso that includes jalapeños, but isn’t too hot. Now with our coupon we had to order 2 entrees from the pricier side of the menu to get the appetizer for free. We chose the chicken fried steak and the chicken tenders. HOLYBALLS. The portions were enormous. The CFS almost took over the whole plate and tasted amazing. It came with mashed potatoes which were also amazing. The chicken tenders were crispy and the fries were perfectly golden. My waiter even asked if I wanted any kind of extra sauce. I asked for the queso and I received queso, no questions asked.(I mention this bc a previous review said it would be difficult.) TL;DR Overall, I would give this place 9⁄10. Food, service, and speed were awesome, but the parking lot situation was a major letdown. No way we’d be able to get in during a busy football weekend.

We stopped at this place when we were in Norman visiting my son at OU. We really enjoyed our meal. The meatloaf was very good and the fried okra might be the best I’ve ever tasted. They had a brunch going and a bloody mary bar. The service was very attentive, place was clean and tons of TV’s for the game. It’s right off campus too. We’ll stop here regularly now. So much better than those campus corner dives.

2016 update :le sigh: I don’t know how I have so many check ins here, I think my coworkers love the place haha. So, obvs Big Dog Daddy’s revamped into Toby’s American Grill. I feel revamped implies improvement, which this is not. Directly from a managers mouth, they weren’t attracting the original college crowd, so they made the restaurant more family friendly. :insert puzzled emoji: I’m not sure what about a full, oddly placed bar running though the center of the restaurant, open glass keg fridge and cocktail tables makes this family friendly? I mean there are only 3 or 4 booths. Maybe the menu? Listen, the best thing on the menu is the queso. Just get the loaded fries. They ditched the philly cheese steak, which was the second best thing. And they’ve made the menu art a little fancier. But the food is sub par. Oh except the brownie dessert. So get queso fries and a brownie and call it a day. Everything is underwhelming, like the other Toby’s. Just stop already Toby! Ohhhh they are also super stingy with the queso. Don’t even ask for a side of it wth your meal. My server told me «he doesn’t like to do that»(not sure who he is, perhaps the keeper of the queso?) and wouldn’t even ask a manager for me.

I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. The meatloaf was so very spicy and hot, I didn’t even eat it the mashed potatoes were terrible. The Bloody Mary had way too much pepper. The sweet tea was about the only thing I liked there. I thought it was a waste of time and money.

Not overly impressed with this restaurant. As you will see there are some good areas of the place, but the most important part of any meal if the food. Pros: Wide open in dining room Large bar Many tvs Cheap drinks Cons: Horrible menu. Very few items. No desserts. Mostly burgers and salads. The food that they do have isn’t any special. If you only have 20 items on your menu, and that’s a very generous estimate, then they better be spectacular. And it isn’t. The design of the interior shows a lot of promise. But the food and food selection is sub-par at best.

Revamp of the ice house called Toby’s now. A little bit better menu still not very many selections. Basically the menu from Toby’s in OKC cut in half. I just got the fried egg burger and fries. It was a good burger I’ll admit and service was good. If I wanted something else off the menu I would go to Charleston’s and if I wanted a burger again I would just go to red robin. For a place to go watch sports and hang out with friends it looked great though tvs everywhere and a nice bar. BWW set up but much nicer looking place. I would go again with friends but not a place I would ever think to go to myself.

I have to admit, I really wanted to hate this place. I really did. Here’s a little backstory: this used to be Big Dog Daddy’s. A terrible place that serves bad food in a fake atmosphere. You can look up the previous review I did of it. It was edited under duress and used to be much more scathing. Also, I am not a fan of Toby’s. That however has no bearing on this review. Frankly I was unimpressed by the décor. As I have stated before it tries too hard to look like one of those great Austin juke joints by the river but those seemed so much more organic than this. The place seems artificial, forced, and disingenuous. I was greeted by 5 people at the door who were all very friendly and obviously eager to please. It was a bit Stepford, but encouraging. I was seated immediately and the bartender came by and was very friendly. I do have to say the staff here has been very well trained. It’s refreshing to see. I asked what happened to Big Dog Daddy’s and was told that it is basically the same place with the same owners and that the old concept didn’t work so they are now going for a more family-centered concept. The menu is pretty basic and has some hold-overs from the old place like a jalapeño flavored spam sandwich. Yuck. They nixed the hotdogs in favor of steaks, chops, catfish, and meatloaf. They did have a kids menu which was an improvement. The prices are pretty uneven. I ordered the taco salad at 8 $ and it was pretty good and well-proportioned. The burgers were well priced also, but the main entrees seemed a bit off. They only came with one side and the meatloaf was 15 $. It was 3 $ to add a side salad. So you might have to really check the menu before you decide. Honestly I probably would never give this place a second thought as it is pretty generic in terms of family eateries. However, many improvements have been made over the last incarnation and the service was exceptional. My glass was never less than half full and every staff member that walked by checked on me. It may be that new-used car smell, but it’s a much better place and I would actually come back. Maybe not for the 15 $ meatloaf, but some casual drinks and a game, sure. Why not? Sorry about my last review of the last form this place took, but it was a living monument to crimes against humanity. Thanks for listening to my rants Toby and good job.

Was expecting more since it was another Toby Keith resturant. Friend said pizza sauce was spicy and to order the kids sauce and was told that was still spicy. I had the burger and it was ok, not the best but ok. Went a couple of months ago and the menu was small and your choice was basically pizza, burgers, or sandwiches and that was it. Our waiter was horrible and barely came to our table. We sat and watched our food sit there while he was talking with his other workers by the bar. The service was terrible and I found myself sipping the bottom of my water waiting for more often. Don’t think we will return.

We had eaten here twice fall of 2014 and loved the food. Our lunch on 5÷9÷15 was horrible! The chicken sandwiches were raw and rubbery. My husband’s burger wasn’t much better. The beer is cold and the service is good but the food really went down hill. I wouldn’t go back.

Well drinks cost around $ 4, beers vary between about $ 2-$ 5. They have ice shots for $ 3, which are various high quality liquor shots in ice shot glass molds. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. TVs all around for prime game watching and free wifi! Winning! I was really happy with our service and with the quality of the food and drink for the price! Would definitely recommend.

It’s kinda of easy to forget about this place, given its location. My friend had a coupon, so that’s how we ended up going. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the service was very nice. The food and drink choices would be perfect for game-watching or tail-gating. Not a place it you are watching your waistline, but it was a lot of food that tastes pretty good.

I really enjoyed our first visit to Big Dog’s. The menu isn’t particularly big, but they do a few things really well. Got the Philly chicken cheese steak and loved it. Fries are also nice and crispy. Good place to watch sports. Seemed to have a lot of drink specials, but we didn’t try out the bar. Great service on this first go. I would go back.

Either I was really hungry or this place was pretty good. I had low expectations. The dark windows remind me of a strip club and the décor looks like they pulled together every trendy bar theme around, but i was pleasantly surprised when the food arrived. The two items we ordered came quickly and were tasty. The margarita was the only low, small and way too sweet, but the queso knocks the socks off the Tex-mex joints in town. There are plenty of TVs to watch the game(s) of your choice and it looks like a nice spot for warmer weather if they open the rolling doors.

I think this would be a fun place to hang out and have drinks after work or on the weekend. Too bad it’s almost an hour drive for me. I liked their drink and shots menu, even though I didn’t order any this time. The prices were good. I was babysitting in Norman and my nephews chose to come here because it is owned by Toby Keith. The 6yo was disappointed when the waitress told him that Toby didn’t actually work there. We were there in the late afternoon for an early dinner after the kids got out of school, so there weren’t a lot of people. They have a small menu but what they have is good. It’s mostly burgers, hot dogs and pizza. Their pizza was surprisingly really good. I don’t think I would bring kids here in the evening because it is more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant, but for lunch or early dinner it was fine. The kids liked their hamburger and chicken and the free WiFi. They loved the jukebox! It was a digital jukebox and I thought it was expensive. It was $ 1 or more per song, which normally I wouldn’t have paid, but it was their first jukebox experience so I forked it over.

Had an unexpectedly good lunch at Big Dog Daddy’s Ice House. I don’t know why, maybe it was the name, or the interior, but I wasn’t expecting the food to be as good as it was when I walked in. The place is clean, which is to be expected because it’s new. There is a large bar with what appeared to be a decent beer list, although I didn’t partake. Also, love that they added more parking to the spaces previously available. Smart move. No complaints on the interior of the place, the restrooms, or parking. We were seated and our drink orders immediately taken. I decided to go with the philly cheesesteak topped with queso and fries. We got a side order of okra to share, because if a place has okra, there’s a 99% chance I’m eating it. The food took less than 10 minutes. The philly had good flavor but was MESSY. The bread became soggy at the end, which was off putting, but like I said, good flavors. Just be prepared to finish with a knife and fork if you go with this sandwich. The fries are on the thinner side, which I prefer. Also, they came to the table seasoned, which is becoming a novelty. French fries require seasoning and I don’t know why it’s so rare. These were solid. The okra was fried, but the breading wasn’t too thick, which is how I prefer it. They weren’t overcooked and again, were seasoned. Absolute re-order. We had great service throughout our lunch; received refills and our ticket very promptly. I’ll return.

We found exactly what we were looking for on Sunday fun day and opening day for Sunday NFL. Appetizers range from chips and queso, tomato roasted guacamole, to chipotle BBQ wings and Spicy Hogs in a Blanket. We chose the Hogs. Succulent, large beefy frank wrapped in a flaky croissant type breading w/a delicious honey mustard for dipping. For lunch I built my own burger. A ½ lb of angus beef and added tomato roasted. guacamole and sugar-cured bacon. Meat was juicy and it was pretty darn great! My husband built his own dog w/angus beef dog and covered it w/chilli, green chillies, shredded cheese and sport peppers on the side. He loved his! Drinks are good service was great and we will definitely return.

Great sports bar atmosphere. Burgers, hot dogs, pizza, cheese steak, and apps. 10 beers on tap. Happy hour from 3−7pm each day. It’s a Toby Keith joint, so hopefully the quality will remain high. Downside: premium toppings(ie bacon, mushrooms, etc.) will cost you an additional $ 0.75 each.
