So it has been years since I’ve been here. The food was fair with good sized portions. The Tamales were meaty with a good chili sauce. The rice was really just rice with little flavor. The cheese sauce was room temperature. No bar service … Just beer and a limited selection at that. Overall there is better Mexican in town so why bother

Some of the best local Mexican food in town. The Cancun chicken or Pablano chimichanga are excellent

I see this place doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Tulios is a down home mexican restaurant. The staff is amazing! The streak fajitas are some of the best around. The chips and salsa could be better though. The décor is perfect. Tons of Sooner greats and a great campus feel on the walls.

Service is great. Very friendly workers. Food was okay. They have free queso, salsa, and chips. The street tacos were good.

This is a small tex-mex restaurant. It’s very casual. Before getting our orders we were presented with chips, queso and salsa. The chips and queso were so so, but I did like the salsa. I ordered the taco platter with shredded beef. I was not a fan of these tacos. The meat was dry and chewy and the flavor didn’t strike me as very appetizing. The lettuce, although looking fresh, tasted bitter. All that was on top of them was cheddar, lettuce, and diced tomatoes. I have had better tacos. I would not order these again. Their burger was ok, better than the tacos. The carne esada had amazing flavor and was by far the best thing we ordered. This also was a bit tough and chewy. If it wasn’t overcooked, this dish would be killer cause the flavor was on point and I loved the grilled mushrooms and peppers that came with it. The beans and rice were surprisingly awesome with the platters. Overall, I will give this place another go later, maybe asking them to not overcook the carne esada. I would not recommend shredded beef tacos. Overall we got a student discount on the dishes we ordered. As a side note, only one dish is discounted per student and you need to show your ID.

Zero point zero stars. I’ve given Tulio’s two opportunities and they’ve come up with the most sad-excuse for food both times. Tonight, I ordered Tulio’s via and the entire order was a disaster. The steak fajitas were tough, chewy, and inedible. I specifically ordered corn-only tortillas, but I was colossally disappointed that they decided to give me flour tortillas because they just couldn’t be bothered to give a flip. The shrimp cocktail, which any other Mexican restaurant does effortlessly and deliciously, tasted of orange juice and sadness. I can’t really even begin to describe the heinous mess that passed as «shrimp». Let’s just say that frozen shrimp should never even be a consideration with this dish(or any other, for that matter), but not one person in the kitchen cared enough to just say«no». Stale chips, salsa that came from the ass of rotten canned tomatoes and some green slime that was pretending to be guacamole are no way to feed paying customers. Listen to my warning, and for the love of all Holy Mexican food, don’t waste one penny or one precious taste bud on this pitiful excuse of a Mexican restaurant. My Virgin of Guadalupe candle is weeping in sorrow for the souls of the proprietors and the cooks of Tulio’s. May the Infant Baby Jesus show us all mercy and shut this place down.

Issue there at lunch, I was one of the only 2 tables present. I ordered, and wanted more of something, but the server wouldn’t come back over. She was sitting watching TV. Then, she dropped the check, so I handed get my credit card. She looks irritated as oasis up, as I had been waiting for my check for a few minutes and was now running late. She day my card on the front counter and stayed taking an order from a family that sat down after I had given her my card. Food just didn’t taste great, bland and flavorless.

Tulio is a male given name of Latin origin(originally Tullius), It is a fairly common given name in Spanish-speaking countries, and much like the fairly common name it is a common Spanish meal. The chips, salsa, and cheese dip are the same you find at most Mexican restaurant chains, which is not to my pallet. I would rather order cheese dip à la carte and have it called queso, instead of having a free less taste version. The street tacos were decent. I was hoping for a little less«Teds» and a lil more street truck taste. Not bad though, just not that great. The name Tulio means«the one who leads», but this place followed in the Ted’s and other chains taste.

I wanted to have something a little on the healthy side and my husband wanted a good burrito. We found the perfect place! They have the perfect«lite» menu. Ordered from from and picked up 15 minutes later. Ate at home. And enjoyed every last bite.

Surprisingly solid place! Free salsa and free queso, with chips. The salsa is solid and I liked it a lot. The queso is perectly average for your typical free queso. Ambiance is OU sporty with Mexican old country touches. Our booth was a little uncomfortable, but it wasn’t a big deal. You don’t come here for the ambiance. You come here for the food. A wide variety of your expected Tex Mex fare. BONUS: they have a LITE menu with calories posted!!! You are totally not going to find this info at other locally– or regionally-owned Tex Mex places. What a great surprise that was. I love Tex Mex, but I go less often than I would like due to the calorie bomb it typically represents. Tulio’s helps you around that! A+ I had the cajun chicken off the lite menu(cajun? Cajun.) Was it cajunny? Not especially. Was it sort of blackened and had blackening spices? Yes. Was it tasty? VERY. The steamed rice was VERY good, borracho beans sort of standard. huge sopapillas. My one quibble is that the price point is a little high for walking into a not-super-nice place in a strip mall. But you do get free chips, salsa, queso. We will definitely be back.

As a regular, this place is great in so many ways. First of, the building. It is tucked away in a shopping center and looks very quiet and unassuming. It is a small restaurant with about 20 tables. The seating is pretty old but these guys, I think have been in business for a long time because of how good they are! They have TVs set up on almost all the walls and are ususally watching sports and such. The TVs are pretty old though lol but hey we are here for the food! The service. These guys are on top of their game! Me and my gf usually go at night on a Saturday or Friday night when they are about to close. We are usually the last people to eat for the day. We go in and they tell us to pick a spot where we want to sit and the waiter is so nice. This guy knows us and what we like so he is already on it. He knows I like the salsa bar and I get the hottest, habanera salsa. He is funny when I order it acting like I’m crazy because it is sooo spicy! lol but he is really friendly and nice and lets us enjoy our meal and doesn’t interrupt. He gets nice tips from me :) He deserves them too. Now the food. They have ALOT of choices from burritos, chalupas, tacos, carne asada, Mexican steaks, beans, rice, tamales, etc. ect… All of it is fresh and made to order. The food comes out hot and portions are big! I love the stuffed flautas! You get 2 of them and they are pretty dang big. Great choice for a big dinner there and only for about $ 10. Free flour tortillas and cheese queso and salsa to start. Also free chips and salsa too for your appetizer. Free refills on your sodas. I love the strawberry soda. Now I haven’t really tried their dessert yet but I did have the sopapilla and that thing is BIG! probably a foot long and 4 inches wide. It was soft and sugary, perfect. This place is great for a date for 2 or a big group. Service is on point and the food is even better. Love this place and i will continue to go. 5 stars

This place is great! The staff are all very nice and the owner is always pleasant and seems happy to receive your business. I’ve been here at least 5 times now. A++ 5 stars now that I’ve tried more of their meals and my bf loves the salsa bar.

I really enjoy Tulio’s! My favorite dish is lite cancun chicken. They marinate the chicken and whatever they use is fabulous. It’s topped with onions, green pepper and mushrooms. It’s served with steamed rice and beans. The steamed beans have the best flavor. They also offer an additional side, e.g., mini-salad, green beans, etc. Their sopapillas are amazing too! The restaurant is cozy and has TVs with sports playing. The wait staff are very attentive. I really like their queso but their salsa is usually too hot for me but I’m a wimp. I see most people lapping it up.

My family and I have been eating at Tulio’s for a very long time. Food is great! I enjoy the lite and lively menu with the steamed beans, rice, and corn. Beware the Sopapillas are HUGE and great!

Amazing food with amazing service! There’s a low-cal/low-fat menu that states the calories for each plate. The menu offers a wide range of choices and are full of flavor. The small whole in the wall is decked out with OU memorable, such a welcoming place. I will be back.

This was excellent Mexican food! Would have never guessed it was this good judging by the location in a strip mall. Little hole in the wall place with OU décor all over the place. They’ll give OU student’s a discount on Mondays also. I had the chicken tacos and rice and they were pretty good. The restaurant makes their own salsa to serve with the fresh, hot chips. That salsa is OUTSTANDING.

Food was OK not bad, chips and food was hot. Service was bad, almost left when we sat down. Food was so hot that you know it came out of a microwave. much better places in Norman.

This is our favorite Mexican place when we visit Norman. We have tried Tarahumara too and it was just ok. They have the best enchiladas ever. I had the chicken enchilada with sour cream sauce and a cheese one with chili sauce. The sour cream sauce was excellent and had a fantastic flavor. The cheese enchilada with chili sauce was great as well. Everything is hot and fresh. The restaurant is clean too.

Our family tried out this restaurant near our home. It has a good selection, is clean and the staff is capable. It is decorated in OU memorabilia so one might enjoy it if that is their thing. My son ordered the fajitas and it arrived quickly, piping hot and full of lovely onions with a generous meat portion. I ordered the chicken enchiladas and they too arrived quickly, piping hot with generous serving of beans and rice. The problem is the enchiladas were so plain. I had a choice of a cheezy sour cream sauce ranchero or chili sauce. The first is not something I would enjoy and the other two were plain and lacked flavor. Typically, enchuladas come with a green chili sauce or a spicy tomato based sauce. None here. I have to admit it was disappointing but not because of a lack of effort on the serving staff’s part.
