Lasswell Home Inspection

John was recommended to me by a family member for my first home inspection back in 2010. He did such an amazing job that five years later he was the first person I contacted to have two more home inspections done. He is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I learn new things each time John comes to inspect a house, and I never felt uncomfortable asking questions. John was always happy to answer my questions while I tagged along, often into great detail as my curious mind likes to understand how things work. When there were things that he found he always provided me with a recommendation to remedy as well as one or two company referrals for where to go for a repair estimate in his report.
His reports by the way are 2^nd to none, extremely detailed, very well organized, and come with pictures and explanations. Even the companies he has referred me to are some of the friendliest people I’ve worked with and upon meeting them they asked who referred me and both of them told me John is probably the best in the business. Two times his referrals came out (one for a sewer scope and one for a foundation inspection), asked me what I needed and upon visual inspection said that what I needed could be done but was probably not necessary and told me a way I could remedy it myself, or how to patch something and monitor it to see if it was actually an issue before paying to get it fixed. Neither of them charged me! The foundation one saved me approx. 18k alone making Johns inspection pay for itself like 50 times over.
John has a customer for life from me and I recommend him to anyone and everyone I can. He’s also motivated me to look into getting my own home inspection certification as I am very interested in this profession. Getting to inspect all these cool homes, seeing all the crazy construction, and finding damage out there is really interesting!

We used John when we were purchasing a new home in May of 2014. He was easy to schedule and his inspection was very thorough. He walked us through everything each step of the way through our house. He took the time to explain things to us and make recommendations along the way. He provided us with a great summary and detailed report and ultimately helped us get everything fixed that we needed before we purchased our house.
During the inspection John found some possible signs of old standing water– he recommended a re-​inspection in the fall after there had been significant rain to check for water. He said he would do this re-​inspection at a reduced rate. When the time came, he was the only inspector we considered calling. He did just as good a job on the re-​inspection as he did on the initial.

John does great, thorough work. After working with a few other inspectors for other home purchases, we had our doubts about getting much of a return on the cost paid for the service. John performed a great, professional inspection of our first home, a 60 year old mostly well-​maintained house. This was almost a year ago and we have since acted on many of his notes to keep our home well maintained.
His report included a detailed narrative and pictures calling out action items. It must have been about 12 pages and was delivered within 24 hours of the inspection.
