Normandy Kayak Rental

These guys are awesome! I went with a friend who had never done anything like this,(canoe, tube ww raft) they picked out kayaks for us and dropped our cars at the take out and then set us loose on the river.
Protip there is not much in the town, bring your drinks and snacks from home.
We will definitely be back!

My friends had to convince me to join them kayaking on the Duck River over Memorial Day weekend. I love water but slightly (deathly) afraid of drowning. I am not a strong swimmer and have never been kayaking so I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to kayak very well. My friends told me that since I had jumped out of an airplane that I would be fine. I’m not sure the correlation but I decided to go and spend quality time with my friends. Boy am I glad I did!
Normandy is about 1.5 hours away from Nashville. Once we arrived, we were greeted very warmly by the staff! They asked us if anyone wanted to go tandem (two in a kayak) and asked us to get our life jackets and paddles while she had her crew start loading up our kayaks on their truck.
Normany Kayak Rental (NKR) prefers cash but if you’d like to use your credit card, you can. You will just be charged a service fee. We all paid in cash.
They let you use the kayaks for as long as you want. They bring you to the start and then take those who have the vehicles to the end so that when you finish, your car will be waiting for you. Best idea EVER! The kayaks were excellent and so easy to maneuver. I instantly picked up on how to kayak and was comfortable. The Duck River was fantastic because it was a nice lazy river where you could feel comfortable in the water and enjoy yourself.
The Duck River is 6 miles and boy did we take our time! We spent 6 hours on the water with a pit stop for lunch. We waited until NKR returned and helped them put the kayaks back on the truck so she could return to her company. She was super appreciative and asked us to come back!
They were very friendly and I would definitely use them again. Thank you NKR for the awesome Memorial Day memories!!!
