Los Compadres is a hidden gem in Norristown’s Little Mexico. It’s a bit tricky to find — go up the stairs of the La Plazita Mini Mall; turn the corner and go past the butcher/deli counter. The meats here were some of the best I’ve had — flavorful and juicy. Try the quesadilla de tinga(make sure to get a corn tortilla) and the tostada de carnitas. Others that look good were Cemitas and Tortas(both are Mexican sandwiches). They give you chips and salsa(a spicy red and an avocado/green sauce). Make sure you order some Horchata to drink so you can cool off your tongue.

I love this place. I had 2 tostadas: chicken and steak. They were really amazing and it was a great place to watch a soccer match while on lunch break. Very Very authentic, friendly staff, fast service. Me encanta este lugar. Me comí 2 tostadas: pollo y bistec. Eran realmente increíble y que era un gran lugar para ver un partido de fútbol, mientras que en la hora del almuerzo. El servicio es muy muy auténtico, personal amable, y rápido.

This is my favorite spot for Mexican food in Norristown. The al pastor tacos are the best in Norristown, according to me. They have tons of meat and it is not dry as it is in some other places, or fatty. The quesadilla de tinga is a must-have. It is not a normal quesadilla that people think of. It is the god of all quesadillas. The place is big and bright and sometimes plays loud good music.

I think I may have just gone on a good day my first vist, because I’ve been back twice(once for a burrito, and once for more tacos) and been a little disappointed both times. Los Compadres is still a great value for the money, and I’m not rescinding my recommendation, but I have started to recommend my current three favorite Norristown Mexican stops(El Rincon, Tacqueria Mexico Lindo, and Los Jimadores) over Los Compadres.
