I’ve been hooked on this place since my grandparents fist took me in there well over 30 years ago. How hooked am i? I live 3 hours away and occasionally drive down just to grab a tomato pie and cannoli. Tomato pie is legendary and their deli sandwiches are legit. I’d live in this place if they’d let me.

This place is the best. Many other bakeries try replicating their tomato pie but just know, THIS is the home of the one and only tomato pie. Their employees are also beyond accommodating and friendly. There is one patron by the name of Paul who comes in regularly. Every Christmas, they’ll buy him Christmas gifts. It’s truly beautiful. I don’t live local anymore but this place will always hold a special place in my heart.

Corropolese tomato pie is the only tomato pie. Classic place, nothing else really needs to be said.

Amazing tomato pie and meatballs. Great place for your Italian delicacy needs. I think their tomato pie might even be better than Marchianos’

Tomato pie is delicious makes me think of a pizza lunchable. Awesome part is that it’s just as good the next day not heated!

My family has been getting tomato pies from here my entire life and after trying other places tomato pie, I know why! Corropolese’s is the BEST you’ll find.

This place has become a tradition every time I head out to eastern PA. This particular location is in a little shopping center that you could easily pass by and not even realize you passed something amazing. Now to clear a few things up. Tomato pie is NOT pizza. It is a square shaped thick dough that is topped with tomato sauce and just a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese that’s it and it’s not to be served hot. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. If your up to trying something new and interesting this is a must try!

My husband and I go to Corropolese each week for our lunch meat. The staff is quick and efficient and will cut the lunch meat to your desired thickness. The prices are great too.

This place has the best tomato pie, period. They freshly make a bunch of tomato and assortment pies, but the tomato pie is hands down the best. I love bringing these to parties since they keep well and can be eaten at room temp, and also they are very inexpensive and they are always a favorite. Only trouble is because it is a bakery, they don’t have very late hours, and if you don’t get there early enough they may be out of want you want but you can preorder the day before. I wish they would deliver though, cuz I’m hungry thinking about it.

Had heard a lot about the tomato pies and meant to visit this bakery over the summer of 2015. Nothing like having a good tomato pie and sipping on a chill beverage on a sunny day. Alas! Given a very hectic summer schedule, the itinerary never happened but I did get lucky last week when a colleague brought a few sheets of the much praised square tomato pie in to work. The Corropolese Tomato Pie is very different from its Trenton counterpart like apples and oranges. Both are good in their own unique way and will have a special place in different corners of my heart. The square pies have a thick and spongy bread-like crust, a fat meaty layer of Tomato Basil sauce and a dusting of powdered parmesan that speaks sweet Italian goodness in every bite. I must admit that I shamelessly ended up getting a second helping. Much thanks to the good man who brought it in.

Some of the best Italian food you’ll ever have, anchored by their amazing Tomato Pie. This will be short review even though this place is amazing and lives up to the hype. Part Italian market and part Italian restaurant, they serve pretty much everything Italian you could ever hope for — pizza, strombolis, bread, and cookies. The main draw of the place is the Tomato Pie: for an entire sheet it’s only $ 14, and it’s some of the best in the area. If you want authentic Italian food, or love Tomato Pie, stop by Corropolese.

Corropolese is like DiBruno Bros., but without the added cost and with an old school, authentic, Norristown Italian feel to it. I grew up eating their legendary red pie, a rectangular pizza served cold. A staple in much of the Northeast, Corropolese does it better than anyone. They have a great selection of baked goods, imported pastas, sauces, and other essentials. When I get that jonesin’ for red pie, I go out of my way to hit Corropolese. Don’t ever have a summer party without one!

I’m so confused as to why this place gets such great reviews. My husband and I have been dying to try this place — based on the reviews. We made an attempt a few Sundays ago only to realize they were closed at the time we wanted to order. Finally, we tried the place tonight and ordered a quarter sheet of sweet pepper pizza and a quarter sheet of spinach pizza. The sweet pepper pizza was so dry and hard my husband ate one bite and couldn’t stomach anymore. It was dry to the point that we wondered if the garlic oil/olive oil was accidentally left off??? The spinach pizza was much better and more moist. Still, it wasn’t much better than what you might find in the frozen food aisle at a grocery store. I’m so disappointed :(We were really hoping this might be a new ‘go to’ place for us. We will keep on searching. My husband wound up eating Captain Crunch Berries for dinner.

Slice of the old family Must try things: 1: Pizza — my favorite is the spinach pie but tomato pie is the classic 2: Coleslaw — delicious and home made. They have lunch meat, party trays and awesome desserts like cookies, cakes. Helpful staff and a favorite of my house!

The tomato pie is an ICON. It embodies every wonderful Italian family party memory since I can remember. The pie is always good, always fresh and comes so many different ways. Thank you Corropolese for putting a smile on my face and your delicious pies in my tummy. The traditional tomato pie has a sweet homemade sauce sprinkled with Romano cheese. A close second favorite is the sweet pepper pie with oregano.

I walked into Corropolese Bakery having almost no idea what to expect. I didn’t know anything about it except for that when I asked my car’s GPS to find the bakery closest to me while I pulled out of the parking lot at Impact Thrift, it came back at me with directions to Corropolese. Boy am I glad it did. I wanted a small treat and the baklava here absolutely hit the spot. They are the best baklava I have had in a looong while. The phyllo dough was crispy and light, the nuts were deeply roasted with a nice dry crunch, and the honey was added with a light touch, which I prefer – too often baklava is soggy and sickly sweet, but this was just perfect. I also bought two small cannoli filled with ricotta and chocolate chips. This was a bit of a gamble for me – I’m not a huge cannoli fan, or at least, I didn’t *think* I was much of a cannoli fan until I bit into the light, crispy shell and tasted the creamy richness of the ricotta studded with tiny chips of bitter chocolate. Like the baklava, the cannoli was not too sweet, which allows you to taste the blend of all the flavors – the cookie shell, the cheese, the chocolate, all coming together without being overpowered by sugar. My husband, much more of a cannoli connoisseur than I, was also very impressed and called it the best cannoli he’s eaten in the Philadelphia area. In addition to a deli, hoagie counter, pizza counter, and bakery area, Corropolese Bakery offers a wide variety of Springfield Pasta Company brand pastas, in case you want to pick some of that up while you’re there. I look forward to getting back over there to pick up some of their tomato pie next time!

The sweet tomato and spinach pie is delicious. It was so delicious that I wish I brought a pie back with me on my flight out of PHL. Besides the pies, they have a food grocery store of deli meats, pasta, breads, cookies. I so wished I lived above this place and could have sweet tomato pie every morning.

Growing up just outside of Norristown, PA this always was and still is the place to go for an authentic tomato pie! No party is complete without a Corropolese(endless pronunciations) pie. The sweet tasting sauce makes this pie a pure delight! I prefer to chill the pie and allow the sauce to marinate into the bread. For me, nothing beats an overly sauced middle piece. Convenience is the name of the game here as well. You can almost always just walk in and grab a full or qtr sized pie. The staff is churning out pies non-stop. Just grabbed a qtr pie to-go for a cool $ 4! They do have a small area to dine-in. This bakery has been adding locations(currently at 4) and who knows, maybe some day will open up in Delco.

If I were to give you, or better yet ask you what could you purchase for $ 4.40 your answer would be? Now lets think for a moment what you can buy for that price, something of quality with the freshest taste to back it up. I’ll give you a minute, right nothing but Corropolese just gave you that answer. I want to thank David P. for recommending this gem of a place to me. Walking up and in the store alone you are greeted with beautiful scent, that enticing aroma of fresh herbs and spices. You know there are certain aromas’ that your senses pick up would make you drop everything go, just to fill the curiosity. I was like a bear to honey, making it extremely difficult to walk away from. This is that place that has possessed me, forcing me to walk closer to that gorgeous display of mouth watering goodness in a fresh pizza. The displays of their well known tomato pie, to the specialty creations they offer. There were many options to go from, and her name was Bruschetta. Freshly made, with chopped tomatoes, the scent of that fresh basil and garlic lingering in the air taking over. Lightly dressed in a marinate of oil and balsamic, with a touch of salt this was my heaven. Nothing from a can, nothing that sat in a steel dish overnight giving you a mush like taste. Simply perfect, delicious with every bite, Corropolese you won me over. Then there is that bread they make with a scent of just out of the oven freshness that can’t be matched. Talk about a hoagie, a monster hoagie on that fresh baked bread. I scream uncle, you win I give up, but then you just reel me back in. These guys also make a rotisserie chicken with their own blends, their own herbs that will make you just stop on a dime when it hits you. An Italian shop done right with all the amenities for a traditional meal, to just getting a jar of Nuetella with the fresh rolls. Their desserts oh boy, this is sweet tooth heaven as you enter you can’t miss that beautiful display. Great place, great people, friendly service as I was talking with an employee in Amanda. They make you feel like you are at home, helping you out with any questions. Clean and fresh with seating inside for you to enjoy. The prices are unreal, for the amount you will receive it is like you are stealing from them. Thank you Corropolese, you guys just gained another loyal patron.
