Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital

Good veterinarians and when I had to move out of town, they forwarded my records without a problem. You really can’t ask for more from these folks and they have connections with a hospital if things get tough.

I’m very happy with level of care that I received from my first visit. They were extremely attentive to me and my pups needs. My dogs/​kids don’t like for me to leave their sides during difficult moments and they were fine with that here too. A lot of offices don’t want you to see how they handle your animals behind clothes doors because it can get difficult I’m sure. Either way they had no problem!
I wasn’t able to come in at a certain time and they immediately tried to fit me in… TWICE!
My dogs are a bit skittish of the Vet and this was the first time they were actually manageable and I really don’t think they even knew they received a shot.
Big Lu poo-​pood a little bit and the tech didn’t complain or was upset.
The receptionist called the next day to ask how the pups were doing and I felt they generally cared.
I also liked that they have a very «open» view of hiring and I appreciate any business with that sort of view… without going into detail. :)
I’m happy and so are my 2 lil’ kids! :)

I can’t believe we didn’t find Creature Comforts sooner!!! We took my 11 ½ yr old dog here because she was in a lot of pain & could no longer get up on her own. Creature Comforts got her in for an appointment that same day & took such good care of her! Unfortunately, our first appointment was our last because we had to say goodbye to her that day.
Although this was our first time at the office, the staff were exceptional from beginning to end! They were ALL so friendly & sweet to us and our dog that you would never know it was our first time there! They went out of their way to make things as peaceful as possible, not only for our sweet girl, but also for us while we were spending our last moments with her! About a week later, they sent us a beautiful, hand written, personalized, signed card from all of the staff. This small gesture went a long way in easing our minds in knowing that our loving companion was treated with all of the love & respect that she showed us for 11 ½ yrs… even after we left that day! Creature Comforts is a wonderful place with staff who truly love and care about you and your pet!

I took my kitty here when it was constantly scratching itself to the point he was bleeding. The staff and vet were extremely comforting and found the root of the problem right away. I won’t take my cat anywhere else but here.

I was referred to Creature Comforts years ago when I adopted my first dog. Dr. Allum and the entire team at CCVH are simply exceptional in my opinion. They have taken amazing care of my two canine children and I am so glad I found out about them!

Great doctor and staff. Always very friendly and never rushing during an appointment. When we first got our puppy, we have a lot of questions as a first time dog owner and have called them multiple times with questions. They are always very helpful and usually answers my questions and concerns without setting up any appointment. We have been going with them for almost three years and have been satisfied with all aspects.

I love the staff at Creature Comforts. They are always very accommodating and nice when I bring in my little guy Pepe. Although he can turn into a little Kujo when his nails are being clipped, they are always very sweet and patient with him. Their prices are very reasonable as well.

I must say, this is the best Vet office I’ve ever been too. They are so sweet, and really care about my puppy. They know her by name, and everyone goes crazy over her when I bring her in. The pricing is reasonable, and they don’t push vaccines and treatments that my dog won’t need. I’m always in and out, and they have very convenient hours! I’d recommend creature comforts to anyone, best place out there!

These people are amazing. They really care about your pets. You rarely have to wait in the lobby, the vets and staff are so kind.

I would not think of going anyplace else. Dr. Karen Allum is absolutely brilliant as well as warm hearted. She has compassion for people and animals. She will always take the time to calmly explain what is going on and what is needed in care of your pet. She volunteers her spare time to do free surgery in poor countries where vets are desperately needed.
The staff is ALWAYS consider and so very understanding. After treating my Tonkinese cat for 5 years in renal failure, I know my boy would not have lived that long without Creature Comforts’ treatment and love. Every person there has HEART. They respect people that care for their pets properly and don’t give up on an animal because things may get difficult.
So many people want a puppy or kitten, but not a dog or a cat. They may not be ready for the commitment and responsibility that comes with owning an animal. If Dr. Allum sees this in a person, she will tell them. You see, she cares about animals; that is why she became a veterinarian. I have been going to Creature Comforts for close to 20 years and I highly recommend them. Dr. Allum pulled my Tonk through a serious surgery that I never expected him to make it through. NEVER under-​estimate her calm or humble demeanor. She is of Mensa level intelligence.

I’ve been taking my Boston Terrier, Jack, to Dr. Lavin for about five years. All of the doctors and staff are always so sweet and pleasant and you can tell that they really care about our animal friends. If they find a problem, they take the time to explain everything and even send me home with a printout describing the condition. They also take the time to call and check up on Jack at home to see how he’s doing. I even moved 30 minutes away, yet I still make the trip. Highly recommend.

I really did not feel that they cared about my cat. They saw him, could not really diagnose him, but prescribed some medication. It did not help him. I took him back to his old vet and they diagnosed him with cancer. They were ready to help in any way they could but he was too far gone by then. My boy hung on for a while longer, comforted by love and pain management, and then I had to put him to sleep. To this day, no one from Creature Comforts has ever tried to check on him. They sent a postcard reminding me to get his shots. Sad. It is a longer ride now but I will take my other kitties back to their old vet.

Hours have decreased since I started using them in 2011; no boarding options; vets don’t always seem to know what they’re talking about; prescriptions (Heartguard) have been messed up. Staff is nice, office is clean and stylish, vet assistants have been the best part. I am grateful that my dog has only needed basic care so far, but she’s not getting any younger and I’ll be looking elsewhere soon.

I have been a client of Dr. Allum, and Creature Comforts for about 12 years, and will never trust my animals to any other veterinarian, other than those at Creature Comforts, in particular Dr. Allum. From your routine care and problems, to having a dog with terminal and ultimately fatal cancer, the doctors at CCVH went above and beyond the normal call of duty, and this is how they function 100% of the time. I recommend Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital to every single person I know that is need of a new vet, or even if they are happy with their own :) When my dog Razor (RIP) was diagnosed with cancer, Dr. Allum was on the same mission I was as his mama, to save his life. When we knew that couldn’t happen, she continued to research and do everything she could. To be honest, she loved him like her own. She loves all of her clients’ pets like her own.
I trust her with the life of all my animals. And highly recommend her, as well as all of her staff! I dread they day when Dr. Allum retires, and hope I can keep her as my personal vet :)

We originally took our puppy to Trooper Vet and while we were satisfied with the services, we felt that the prices were a bit much. A friend recommended us to Creature Comforts after they provided excellent care to her special needs dog. We’ve now been with CCVH for 2 ½ years and having nothing but great things to say about them! The place is immaculate, everyone on the staff, from the front desk employees to the techs to the doctors themselves, are friendly and go out of their way to make sure every question or need you have is resolved. (I actually told my husband I want a part-​time job here b/​c they’re so awesome, but he’s afraid I’d bring home every sick and stray animal I meet)!
The prices are reasonable and they can usually accomodate last minute emergency appointments. They offer deals on the heartworm and tick medicines as well.
I highly recommend this place, I feel completely comfortable knowing that my dog is in good hands every time he goes here.

I have been a customer of Creature Comforts for at least 5 years following the retirement of my prior vet. I am a multi-​pet owner and have, over time, had cause to visit the practice multiple times. Not only will you find premises pristine, but beginning with the receptionist. the attitude exudes caring! Each of the 3 Vets certainly demonstrate expertise and take time to explain the diagnosis, cost and treatment. They were so utterly professional when I had the sad occasion to put down an old dog and cat. They were and continue to be very kind and I have always been impressed by the fact that the vets (and assistants) provide very personal attention. I would encourage any pet owner to visit this office.

I love this place! Dr. Allum has a wonderful caring additude and makes sure to take the time to answer all your questions. The entire staff is caring and makes sure you and your «babies» are taken care of.

A friend recommended I see Dr. Karen Allum at Creature Comforts after expressing my disappointment with my experiences with local Vets (I am have been very disapointed with Andorra Veterinary, Hickory, and Banfield). The office is not convenient to my home, but the recommendation came so strongly I thought I would give it a try. I am so happy I did!
Dr. Allum sat and discussed every problem my dog was having with me in great detail. I was so impressed by her obvious comittment to her profession & her passion, giving 100% of her attention and devotion to her clients. She did not push pricey procedures or medication on me like all 3 previously mentioned Animal Hospitals have, but rather, told me what, in fact, my dog really did NOT need.
I am happy to make the 25-​minute commute to this office after such a great experience!

We have five cats and an almost year old dog. We switched to Creature Comforts last March when got our puppy and we are extremely happy. We have met with all of the vets and they are all excellent. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and extremely competent. Their hours of operation make it easy to schedule an appointment. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet.
