At I just read your post… you must have a attitude problem. This place seriously serves good food and drink. Maybe the lady in question was having a bad day but you don’t talk about the food at all. go back… order again. I’ve been here numerous times and the service and food is always great.

I recently moved to North Andover and this is by far the BEST Chinese food I’ve ever had. No Complaints, I will be back, 5 Stars

Food was great, all the basic Chinese appetizers were just as they should be. Beef lo mein delicious. Only gave it 4 stars because I wasn’t a big fan of the Chinese chicken lettuce wraps-small portion, flavour kind of boring, and way too many of those Styrofoam like noodles that nobody really eats. I’ll definitely go back and try some other things though.

Good stuff. A little pricey for what you get but can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Although the booths in there are so uncomfortable.

The lunch menu is a great Value! The food is fresh, home made, and plentiful! You get so much, along with the doggie bag! The sushi was very fresh! Although we don’t live in the area, we have a student at Merrimack, and have been there twice, and will be back. This place truly is a «best kept secret!»

Really yummy! We got orange chicken, veggie lo mein, white rice and sweet potato maki. The orange chicken should definitely be spicer more orangey but was crispy and white meat. The lomein and rice were good as was the maki. Will order again!

We really love this place, we moved to the area a couple of years ago and have struggled to find good Chinese food around here but, Shunju is very good! We usually order delivery and it never fails to arrive hot and fresh! The manager I’ve spoken with has been excellent– we’ve ordered for parties and New Years for about 20 people, they are so kind there and make sure that everything is right before placing the order(a problem that I’ve seen in this area is that it’s hard to find a restaurant that speaks and understands English clearly when ordering). They forgot an item once and I called and they sent the driver back to my house and also offered the same item free next time I order! The food is very good, I especially love the crab rangoons and egg rolls(we usually order the basic stuff) and it’s never greasy and always fresh! I would recommend this place to anyone.(Side note, I have never dined in so I cannot say much about the dine-in experience).

My boyfriend and I went with the crab rangoon, orange chicken, house lo mein and spicy chicken — all very good! The crab rangoons had a little too much cream cheese for my liking but overall pretty good. We still want to try other spots but I’m pretty sure we’ll be back!

Hidden gem in North Andover! Best Chinese food in town! Their Japanese good lacks in comparison, so I’d definitely just eat their Chinese food.

I just got out of this shitty place. the server name tiffany served us. She began asking me where i came from. After I put order, she gave me this weird attitude. I was upset and asked if there was different server. This manager heard my story but didn’t do anythjng but saying sorry. This tiffany lady never checked on our table. Never filled up water. I complained again as I came out of there. The manager just said he understands. So what? This is worst place to dine out. I don’t even wanna give one star. One star seems to be too generous. plus!!! This place is so dirty. We were sitting by this dirty window. So filthy. So much dust that looks like for years they never cleaned. Their kitchen must be the same. Disgusting ! Save your money ! Don’t waste here!

Shunju is TRULY a hidden gem in North Andover. Hidden? Absolutely. You may drive by the plaza that Shuju anchors but the restaurant is in the back. The ubiquitous coffee place fronts out to the street. For this I am sad, because not only are the owners and staff great and welcoming, the food is great. This is the sort of place that knows what they are doing, and whether you eat in or out, there are tasty leftovers to go.

We’ve never been disappointed by the food. The sushi is OUTSTANDING but the owner with the glasses needs to STOP arguing with customers when he screws up the order. The Chinese food is really good, super fresh and a great value for the portion sizes. Glasses is why I only give them 4 stars.

I love the food here. Delish! BUT the VENETIONWINDOWBLINDSAREFILTHY! Heavy coats of dust while you are eating. They need to clean those every single day. No excuse! I like this place but come on guys… that’s ridiculous.

Before I discuss my reason for the 1 star, I’d like to preface with the fact that I eat a LOT of asian foods. I grew up near NYC so going to chinatown in NYC was frequent. I’ve lived in the Medford/somerville area for a few years and just moved to Andover. Reading the reviews here I expected something pretty decent. Here is what I ordered: Tempura Red Snapper with Spicy Red Curry Sauce; 0 stars The red snapper was over cooked, dried out completely. The breading was soggy and thick. The red curry sauce was straight out of a can or package. It’s listed on the menu as the chef’s specialty. Is the specialty opening cans? I’m sorry, but it was horrible and tasted way too tangy like ketchup. EXTREMELY overpowering and every bite was just a lot of ketchup tang. If you’re going to use canned or packaged curry, you need to invest in at least Mae Ploy brand. Seriously. Peppery Crispy Shrimp; 1 star Let’s talk about this. Another item listed under the chef’s specialties. The name says Crispy. Was mine crispy? Nope. Breaded heavily and soggy. There was barely any seasoning on the bread so it tasted like a mouth full of rubbery wet flour and egg. Was the shrimp jumbo? Absolutely not, they used 21⁄25 shrimp. What this means is that 21 – 25 shrimp go into a pound. This is NOT jumbo shrimp. Jumbo shrimp would roughly be 12 – 15 to a pound. Also overcooked and extremely chewy. Saki Yuna-Yaki; 2 stars This was at least edible. We ordered it with the ginger & scallions sauce. It was mild in flavor, with an overpowering amount of shiitake mushroom flavor to it. Had they have used less of that, and keep the subtle ginger flavor to the sauce, this might be better. Oh and use fresh Salmon, not frozen. You provide sushi, so I don’t understand this one. I suppose cost-saving is better than kitchen pride. Since moving to Andover, I’m struggling to find quality food that you’d find closer to the city, which is to be expected. What I find more shocking than anything is all the raving reviews I find on Unilocal from people in the Andover area on some of these restaurants. I’m sorry Andover folks, but your palates are WAY off.

There are so many things to like about Shunju! First, Jason and Hector are genuinely concerned about providing the best possible experience. If you want it and they can make it, anything is possible! Tip: Ask for a saketini or a Ninja Turtle at the bar… you’ll want another, as long as you have a DD. :) Second, the food — especially the sushi — is top notch. Some of the things we order regularly are: Spicy Edamame(ask for spicy) Avocado Ball(with tuna or salmon — simply amazing!) Crispy Pad Thai Basil Chicken I can honestly say we’ve never had anything we didn’t like here, and if there was something not to our liking they cheerfully would have made something else. The bar was expanded last year to add more seating, which helps avoid having to wait for a seat in that popular area. Some of the comments mention slow delivery, but we’ve always eaten inside the restaurant so I cannot comment on that issue. Otherwise, if you’re looking for great sushi and Chinese/Japanese food, you’ll want to give Shunju a try.

Just lost my business. Walked in at 12:10 to order and was told, we aren’t ready come back in half an hour. Nope never again.

Tried this place & their delivery for the first time. We were originally told that the order would take 40 – 50 minutes. After an hour we got a little upset. 20 minutes after calling we finally got the order. We then opened the bag(after the driver left) and we were missing one of the items. We called and they refunded part of what we paid but in order to get a better refund than the couple of bucks for the item they forgot to bring but for the poor customer service as well it took too much cajoling. It was the owner I was speaking to too. My suggestion — try someplace else.
