The location of this bakery is known in my neighborhood as being home of failing businesses, and Silva proved it wrong. The owner is so friendly and patient, and everything is reasonably priced. There’s always a good variety to chose from, and their coffee is pretty good as well. I just wish there were labels for the pastries because I just have to point to what I want or constantly ask what each pastry is. Highly recommend the apple turnover or the elephant ear. Really glad this place is right there.

Very happy to have this little bakery and coffee shop open in my neighborhood. Owner is courteous and capable. So nice to take a stroll there and sit down for coffee and pastries. The Portuguese croissants(unlike the French, not so buttery and a bit sweet) are a specialty of theirs and always good. I’ve had some marvelous special pastries from Silva’s; an outstanding chocolate mousse cake comes to mind. Wonderful business and excellent addition to the neighborhood.

This is my preferred bakery in the area. The lady at the front is friendly and always accommodating. The bread and custards are both good. I like that the selection varies from week to week and has been expanding in recent months.

I love this bakery. Definitely the best in the local area. There Portuguese roll is perfect. They have very good everything. I also love there coffee and hot choclate. Great place for breakfast. Never had any issues. The women at the counter is always nice and respectful never gave me attitude or anything. Highly suggest stopping by. Can’t go wrong here.

Update review, went back few times after last review. Haven’t bought Nutella natal since then but bought custard natal every time I go back there. Haven’t encountered burned natal again. Asked for my son’s birthday cake and they have done a great job! My Thomas loving son was very happy and all the guests were amazed. Cake was very fluffy and cream was good. I will go back there again for my daughter’s birthday!

I work with in a few blocks of other bakeries and I always give Silva my business. The woman behind the counter is always smiling and happy to help. They have an ever changing selection of pastries and empanadas(yes, you can get your fix before 8am!) making picking your breakfast the most difficult part of the day. The only drawbacks are that the pastries aren’t labeled and if you wanted something hot when its busy you have had to wait about 10 – 15 minutes so it could be cooked. This isn’t the worst thing in the world since everything is made to order. There is plenty of seating to sip on your drink of voice while you wait and they always have a television on with a talk show providing you with an inedible distraction.

This place was open on Easter Sunday 2014INTHEAFTERNOON, unlike a lot of other area bakeries. They have a variety of pastries and a seating area.

I’ve tried most of their pastries and enjoyed them very much. The only thing I don’t like is that the pastries are not labeled nor do they have prices on them.

This Portuguese bakery is an amazing hidden gem that is on the border of North Arlington and Lyndhurst. They have amazing portuguese and french pastries. They also do custom birthday cakes and have great lunch items. This is a great addition to the community. Highly recommended!
