expired items and frozen items had mold on it. On top of it, the prices are doubled. Waiting for patel brothers to open up near by. also no customer service from the owners

This store is wonderful and full of great finds if you want to try your hand at cooking Indian food. I particularly like the huge frozen section as it is pretty easy to put together a decent meal with minimal effort or skill. The staff are so lovely and helpful too.

How bizarre how bizarre — *plink plink plink, plink plink plink, plink plink plinnnnk* Oo Babeh — spice is makin’ me crazeh! Ever since moving from Waltham and its plethora of Moody Street markets, I’ve had my eye out for a purveyor of spices, fruits, paneer, and ghee. I happened upon India Bazar while stopping in at neighboring Bagels & Cream(another Route 1 resource); accessible by either North or South traffic, a small, front-loading parking lot fences in the sparsely advertised Bazar. Enter to just about everything you need for the foundation of your Indian portion of your pantry! That being said, it looks a bit like a pantry(it’s a small space and they make GREAT use of every square inch — I had to do the«hold your jacket to your body so to not knock over the mango pyramid» side-step). Their website is a little difficult to navigate(it looks incomplete and, probably, rarely updated), and *limited fruits and veg(mangos, bell pepper, onions by the bag, and some foreign fruits I’d never seen before). *rows of pouched spices(buy a pouch of Nutmeg for under $ 3…you can’t get the smallest McCormick shaker for that little dough!). Shelves upon shelves of seasoning/meal pouches(BBQ tandoori chicken, chicken masala, etc etc). *freezer and fridge section have pre-made/boxed meals and BRICKS of paneer(yum!). A fridge near the front offers pre-made(not sure when and where) sweets and savory bits(on our visit I spotted potato and pea Samosas). *Giant bags of rice and lentils and beans! *Packaged foods from afar(cookies, biscuits, soups, ingredients). Phone cards, DVD rentals, and yes… even health and beauty products. On our visit we purchased two large mangos, a bag of onions, and a green pepper for $ 4(that’s it?!). The Bazar is open 7days/week(opening at 11am and closing at 8/9pm). If you’re looking to spice up your life and live a little this summer, try converting your taste buds to turmeric and garam masala and coriander, AND make a stop in, here, to stock up!

India Bazar is a cozy little Indian grocery store near the Emerald Square Mall that is notable for two things: really good prices and really friendly service. They have all the Indian spices you maybe looking for, Indian dry goods such as dals and rices and flours, a well-priced selection of jarred pickles, masalas, condiments and marinades, some produce, some frozen food and Indian movies for rental or purchase. They’re friendly and helpful and my first choice for basic shopping. They are in the process of setting up an online business to order products from their webpage.
