This store has a great pedal selection, especially newer pedals. It also has a very friendly and helpful staff who seem to go above and beyond for the customer. One of the best music stores on Long Island without a doubt.

Wonderful and organized layout, with the nicest staff EVER. Seriously– the owner fixed my brothers broken trumpet valve and gave us valve oil– for free. No charge. Seriously! They have an extensive guitar selection, and while I was there a man was just hanging out, playing his guitar. Overall wonderful store

I’ve been shopping here for years, mostly for repairs and their services(i took lessons here as well) and I’ve always been happy to call this place my home. Their repairs are by FAR the most reasonably priced on long island, and their lessons are given by teachers who actually know what they’re doing. I took lessons with Mike for 3 years and learned a ton from him, and had a blast in the process. I’ve been really happy to see that the selection has grown a lot in recent years, from Gibson to Fender to Martin, to more high end brands like Taylor, PRS and Strymon. This store is definitely heading in a great direction and love to shop here! When you go in, be sure to ask for Charlie or Mike(upstairs) and tell them that I sent you. You won’t be dissapointed!

Hands down, the BEST music store on Long Island! Forget those big boy retailers, customer service here is amazing! They make you feel as if your part of their family and that goes along way with me! Kudos to you Music Emporium! :-)

Easily one of my favorite music stores in the New York area! Being a Queens resident, there arent many music stores(with a focus on the guitar) in my area besides the local Sam Ash or Guitar Center. So in my search to find a good music store, i came across this beautiful place! The staff is very helpful and knowledgable! Any questions i may have regarding guitars and amplifiers I can have answered in an instant! And I’m sure any question regarding other instruments and equipment can also be addressed quickly! It’s comforting to know that I’m in good hands! There’s a trend that is becoming common in guitar shops where an employee’s top priority is to «SELLSELLSELL!» However, at the Music Emporium, i dont get much of that! The staff, are not only(again) helpful and knowledgable, but they are honest! They will not persuade you to do any unnecessary buying, nor will they lie to you about anything they sell to you! I guess, what im trying to say(in tl;dr form) is that the Music Emporium is a great spot for musicians of all levels of skill, age, or passion! Anything you need, from lessons, to equipment, or even a brand new instrument, it can be provided by these guys and gals! I love making the half hour trip to get here. I think alot of you will feel the same!

Don’t bother for repairs. We brought a flute in for repairs. We later learned after the fact that they send out the instruments for repairs and don’t repair them on site. The flute was brought in for a few new pads and cleaning. When the instrument broke again we a few months later we decided to bring it somewhere else. Upon deeper inspection we learned that the repairs and cleaning that we thought were done were in fact not done at all or done very poorly. They basically took the money and did nothing. Lesson learned. The cheaper business isn’t always the best choice. They can keep what I paid for it. Obviously they need it more and care about that ore than good and honest service.

My favorite music store and close to home. I get my manuscript writing paper here. Plus they order any kind of sheet music you want. ‘Nuff said.

I went to this store for 15 years, but after the way the treated me last time, I’ll never go back again. I used to come here for bass guitar lessons but I quit because the teacher never taught me scales or theory; he would just ask what song I wanted to learn. Flash forward ten years: I came here to have my clarinet, which I hadn’t touched in 8 years, cleaned. It smelled bad, there was dried saliva on the mouthpiece, some pads needed replacing and the keys needed a general tune-up. It took a few days longer than estimated, but when I got my clarinet back and opened the case, it looked UNTOUCHED! They replaced the pads and tightened some screws. but the cork on the thumbrest was still missing, the mouthpiece was still gunky, it still stunk, and the instrument wasn’t even polished! They were originally very receptive to my compliant and agreed that it looked untouched. BUTTHEYFLAT-OUTTRICKEDME! Mike said«We’ll make this right,» so he refunded me and told me all the things they would do to rectify the situation. He said they would throw in a free rubber thumbrest, that they would fix the cork, the smell, and the greasy, unfinished work. It took them another two and a half weeks before they told me it was ready. While it looked like they ACTUALLY did what I paid them to do in the first place, I was shocked to find out that they charged me again. I though«making it right» meant that they wouldn’t charge me for the the service I found unsatisfactory. If I thought they were going to charge me again, I wouldn’t have let them take it away from me again. Especially after they tried to make excuses, like that their contractor doesn’t clean mouthpieces or polish the instruments, or that there are«different levels» of cleaning, and I was expecting more than what they typically offer. Pardon me for thinking that a good craftsman shines up the instrument he’s working on, or that CLEAN means CLEAN. I am so furious. I have supported them for years. I’d rather shop at a guitar center or sam ash at this point, and I recommend going anywhere else but here. I’m all about supporting local business but they flat out lied to me. I didn’t even get that free rubber thumb rest.
